1. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

1. And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2. நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபை அனைத்தோடும் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: உங்கள் தேவனும் கர்த்தருமாகிய நான் பரிசுத்தர், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள்.

2. Speak unto all the assembly of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Holy shall ye be, for I Jehovah your God am holy.

3. உங்களில் அவனவன் தன்தன் தாய்க்கும் தன்தன் தகப்பனுக்கும் பயந்திருக்கவும், என் ஓய்வு நாட்களை ஆசரிக்கவும்கடவீர்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

3. Ye shall reverence every man his mother, and his father, and my sabbaths shall ye keep: I am Jehovah your God.

4. விக்கிரகங்களை நாடாமலும், வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட தெய்வங்களை உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

4. Ye shall not turn unto idols, and ye shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.

5. நீங்கள் சமாதானபலியைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தினால், அதை மனோற்சாகமாய்ச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

5. And if ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance.

6. நீங்கள் அதைச் செலுத்துகிற நாளிலும் மறுநாளிலும் அதைப் புசிக்கவேண்டும்; மூன்றாம் நாள்மட்டும் மீதியானது அக்கினியிலே சுட்டெரிக்கப்படக்கடவது.

6. On the day when ye sacrifice it shall it be eaten, and on the morrow; and that which remaineth until the third day shall be burned with fire.

7. மூன்றாம் நாளில் அதில் ஏதாகிலும் புசிக்கப்பட்டால் அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்; அது அங்கிகரிக்கப்படமாட்டாது.

7. And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an unclean thing: it shall not be accepted.

8. அதைப் புசிக்கிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானதைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்கினபடியால் அவன் தன் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமந்து, தன் ஜனத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு அறுப்புண்டுபோவான்.

8. And he that eateth it shall bear his iniquity; for he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.

9. நீங்கள் தேசத்தின் பயிரை அறுக்கும்போது, உன் வயலின் ஓரத்திலிருக்கிறதைத் தீர அறுக்காமலும், சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற கதிர்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும்,

9. And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou shalt not gather.

10. உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலே பின் அறுப்பை அறுக்காமலும், அதிலே சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற பழங்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும், அவைகளை எளியவனுக்கும் பரதேசிக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

10. And thy vineyard shalt thou not glean, neither shalt thou gather what hath been left of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am Jehovah your God.

11. நீங்கள் களவுசெய்யாமலும், வஞ்சனைபண்ணாமலும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பொய் சொல்லாமலும் இருங்கள்.

11. Ye shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.

12. என் நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு பொய்யாணையிடுகிறதினால், உங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

12. And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

13. பிறனை ஒடுக்காமலும் கொள்ளையிடாமலும் இருப்பாயாக; கூலிக்காரனுடைய கூலி விடியற்காலம்மட்டும் உன்னிடத்தில் இருக்கலாகாது.

13. Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of the hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

14. செவிடனை நிந்தியாமலும், குருடனுக்கு முன்னே தடுக்கலை வையாமலும், உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்திருப்பாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

14. Thou shalt not revile a deaf person, and thou shalt not put a stumbling-block before a blind one; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

15. நியாயவிசாரணையில் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருங்கள்; சிறியவனுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம் செய்யாமலும், பெரியவனுடைய முகத்துக்கு அஞ்சாமலும், நீதியாகப் பிறனுக்கு நியாயந்தீர்ப்பாயாக.

15. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the lowly, nor honour the person of the great; in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16. உன் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அங்குமிங்கும் கோள்சொல்லித் திரியாயாக; பிறனுடைய இரத்தப்பழிக்கு உட்படவேண்டாம்; நான் கர்த்தர்.

16. Thou shalt not go about as a talebearer among thy people; thou shalt not stand up against the life of thy neighbour: I am Jehovah.

17. உன் சகோதரனை உன் உள்ளத்தில் பகையாயாக; பிறன்மேல் பாவம் சுமராதபடிக்கு அவனை எப்படியும் கடிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

17. Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt earnestly rebuke thy neighbour, lest thou bear sin on account of him.

18. பழிக்குப்பழி வாங்காமலும் உன் ஜனப்புத்திரர் மேல் பொறாமைகொள்ளாமலும், உன்னில் நீ அன்புகூறுவதுபோல் பிறனிலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

18. Thou shalt not avenge thyself, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Jehovah.

19. என் கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வீர்களாக; உன் மிருகஜீவன்களை வேறு ஜாதியோடே பொலியவிடாயாக; உன் வயலிலே வெவ்வேறு வகையான விதைகளைக் கலந்து விதையாயாக; சணல்நூலும் கம்பளிநூலும் கலந்த வஸ்திரத்தை உடுத்தாதிருப்பாயாக.

19. My statutes shall ye observe. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with another sort; thou shalt not sow thy field with seed of two sorts; and a garment woven of two materials shall not come upon thee.

20. ஒருவனுக்கு அடிமையானவள் ஒரு புருஷனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டவளாயிருந்து, முற்றிலும் மீட்கப்படாமலும் தன்னிச்சையாய் விடப்படாமலுமிருக்க, அவளோடே ஒருவன் சம்யோகமாய்ச் சயனம்பண்ணினால், அவர்கள் கொலை செய்யப்படாமல், அடிக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அவள் சுயாதீனமுள்ளவள் அல்ல.

20. And if a man lie with a woman for copulation, and she is a bondwoman betrothed to a husband, but not at all ransomed, nor hath freedom been given to her, there shall be a chastisement: they shall not be put to death, for she was not free.

21. அவன் தன் குற்றநிவாரணபலியாய் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைக் கொண்டுவரக்கடவன்.

21. And he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a trespass-offering.

22. அதினாலே ஆசாரியன் அவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனுக்காகக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யக்கடவன்; அப்பொழுது அவன் செய்த பாவம் அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்.

22. And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath done; and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

23. நீங்கள் அந்த தேசத்தில் வந்து, புசிக்கத்தக்க கனிகளைத் தருகிற பலவித மரங்களை நாட்டினபின்பு அவைகளின் கனிகளை விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவைகளென்று எண்ணுவீர்களாக; மூன்று வருஷம் அது புசிக்கப்படாமல், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாததாய் உங்களுக்கு எண்ணப்படவேண்டும்.

23. And when ye come into the land and plant all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count its fruit as uncircumcised, three years shall it be uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of;

24. பின்பு நாலாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்குத் துதிசெலுத்துகிறதற்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

24. and in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy for praise to Jehovah;

25. ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிக்கலாம்; இப்படி அவைகளின் பலன் உங்களுக்குப் பெருகும்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

25. and in the fifth year shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may increase unto you the produce thereof: I am Jehovah your God.

26. யாதொன்றையும் இரத்தத்துடன் புசிக்கவேண்டாம். குறிகேளாமலும், நாள்பாராமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

26. Ye shall eat nothing with the blood. -- Ye shall not practise enchantment, nor use auguries.

27. உங்கள் தலைமயிரைச் சுற்றி ஒதுக்காமலும், தாடியின் ஓரங்களைக் கத்தரிக்காமலும்,

27. -- Ye shall not shave the corners of your head round, neither shalt thou mutilate the corners of thy beard.

28. செத்தவனுக்காக உங்கள் சரீரத்தைக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், அடையாளமான எழுத்துக்களை உங்கள்மேல் குத்திக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

28. And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.

29. தேசத்தார் வேசித்தனம்பண்ணி தேசமெங்கும் முறைகேடான பாவம் நிறையாதபடிக்கு உன் குமாரத்தியை வேசித்தனம்பண்ண விடுகிறதினாலே பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காயாக.

29. -- Do not profane thy daughter, to give her up to whoredom; lest the land practise whoredom, and the land become full of infamy.

30. என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரித்து, என் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைக்குறித்துப் பயபக்தியாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

30. -- My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

31. அஞ்சனம் பார்க்கிறவர்களை நாடி, குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களைத் தேடாதிருங்கள்; அவர்களாலே தீட்டுப்படவேண்டாம்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

31. -- Turn not unto necromancers and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God.

32. நரைத்தவனுக்கு முன்பாக எழுந்து, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவன் முகத்தைக் கனம்பண்ணி, உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுவாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.
1 தீமோத்தேயு 5:1

32. Before the hoary head thou shalt rise up, and shalt honour the face of an old man; and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

33. யாதொரு அந்நியன் உங்கள் தேசத்தில் உங்களோடே தங்கினால், அவனைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தவேண்டாம்.

33. And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not molest him.

34. உங்களிடத்தில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற அந்நியனைச் சுதேசிபோல எண்ணி, நீங்கள் உங்களில் அன்புகூருகிறதுபோல அவனிலும் அன்புகூருவீர்களாக; நீங்களும் எகிப்துதேசத்தில் அந்நியராயிருந்தீர்களே; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

34. As one born among you shall the stranger who sojourneth with you be unto you; and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

35. நியாயவிசாரணையிலும், அளவிலும், நிறையிலும், படியிலும் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

35. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measure of length, in weight, and in measure of capacity:

36. சுமுத்திரையான தராசும், சுமுத்திரையான நிறைகல்லும், சுமுத்திரையான மரக்காலும், சுமுத்திரையான படியும் உங்களுக்கு இருக்கவேண்டும்; நான் உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

36. just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37. ஆகையால் என்னுடைய கட்டளைகள் யாவையும் என்னுடைய நியாயங்கள் யாவையும் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி நடக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; நான் கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

37. And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.
