1. And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them,

2. நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், பூமியிலிருக்கிற சகல மிருகங்களிலும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்க ஜீவ ஜந்துக்கள் யாதெனில்:

2. Speak to the children of Israel, saying, These are the animals which you may eat among all the beasts of the earth:

3. மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும் அசைபோடுகிறதுமானவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

3. Among the beasts, whatever divides the hoof, being cloven and split, and bringing up the cud; that you may eat.

4. ஆனாலும், அசைபோடுகிறதும் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதுமானவைகளில் ஒட்டகமானது அசைபோடுகிறதாயிருந்தாலும், அதற்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லாதபடியால், அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

4. Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that bring up the cud or those that divide the hoof: the camel, because it brings up the cud but does not divide the hoof, is unclean to you;

7. and the swine, though it divides the hoof, being cloven and split, yet does not bring up the cud, is unclean to you.

8. இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசிக்கவும், இவைகளின் உடல்களைத் தொடவும் வேண்டாம்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

8. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you.

9. ஜலத்திலிருக்கிறவைகளில் நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்கது யாதெனில்: கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீர்களிலே சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

9. These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers; that you may eat.

10. ஆனாலும், கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீர்களில் நீந்துகிறதும் வாழ்கிறதுமான பிராணிகளில் சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாதவைகள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

10. But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that swarm in the water or any living creature which is in the water, they are detestable to you.

11. அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாதிருந்து, அவைகளின் உடல்களை அருவருப்பீர்களாக.

11. They shall be detestable to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall detest their carcasses.

12. தண்ணீர்களிலே சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

12. Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales; it shall be detestable to you.

13. பறவைகளில் நீங்கள் புசியாமல் அருவருக்கவேண்டியவைகள் யாதெனில்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

13. And these you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are detestable: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard,

14. பருந்தும், சகலவித வல்லூறும்,

14. the kite, and the falcon after its kind;

15. சகலவித காகங்களும்,

15. every raven after its kind,

16. தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவித டேகையும்,

16. the ostrich, the owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind;

17. ஆந்தையும், நீர்க்காகமும், கோட்டானும்,

17. the little owl, the cormorant, and the great horned owl;

18. நாரையும், கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும்,

18. the white owl, the pelican, and the carrion vulture;

19. கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வௌவாலும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.

19. the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

20. பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிற ஊரும்பிராணிகள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

20. All flying creatures that swarm, going upon all fours shall be detestable to you.

21. ஆகிலும், பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிற யாவிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்கது யாதெனில்: தரையிலே தத்துகிறதற்குக் கால்களுக்குமேல் தொடைகள் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளிலே,

21. Yet these you may eat of every flying creature that swarms, going upon all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth.

22. வெட்டுக்கிளி ஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், சோலையாம் என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், அர்கொல் என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், ஆகாபு என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

22. These you may eat: the swarming locust after its kind, the locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

23. பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலு காலால் நடமாடுகிற மற்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

23. But all other flying creatures that swarm, having four feet shall be detestable to you.

24. அவைகளாலே தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்; அவைகளின் உடலைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

24. By these you shall become unclean; whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until evening;

25. அவைகளின் உடலைச் சுமந்தவன் எவனும் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

25. whoever carries part of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening:

26. விரிநகங்களுள்ளவைகளாயிருந்தும், இருபிளவான குளம்பில்லாமலும் அசைபோடாமலும் இருக்கிற மிருகங்கள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகளைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் தீட்டுப்படுவான்.

26. Any beast that divides the hoof, but is not cloven and split and does not bring up the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches it shall be unclean.

27. நாலுகாலால் நடக்கிற சகல ஜீவன்களிலும் தங்கள் உள்ளங்கால்களை ஊன்றி நடக்கிற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

27. And whatever goes on its paws, among all the animals that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until evening.

28. அவைகளின் உடலைச் சுமந்தவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

28. Whoever carries their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. They are unclean to you.

29. தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளில் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவைகள் எவையெனில்: பெருச்சாளியும், எலியும், சகலவிதமான ஆமையும்,

29. These also shall be unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the earth: the mole, the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind;

30. உடும்பும், அழுங்கும், ஓணானும், பல்லியும், பச்சோந்தியும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.

30. the gecko, the monitor lizard, the sand reptile, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.

31. சகல ஊரும் பிராணிகளிலும் இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளில் செத்ததைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

31. These are unclean to you among all that swarm. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until evening.

32. அவைகளில் செத்தது ஒன்று யாதொன்றின்மேல் விழுந்தால் அது தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அது மரப்பாத்திரமானாலும், வஸ்திரமானாலும், தோலானாலும், பையானாலும், வேலை செய்கிறதற்கேற்ற ஆயுதமானாலும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டாயிருக்கும்; அது தண்ணீரில் போடப்படவேண்டும், அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாகும்.

32. Anything upon which any of them falls when they are dead is unclean, whether it is any item of wood or clothing or skin or sack, whatever item it is, in which work is done, it shall be put in water. And it shall be unclean until evening; then it shall be clean.

33. அவைகளில் ஒன்று மண்பாண்டத்திற்குள் விழுந்தால், அதற்குள் இருக்கிறவை யாவும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அதை உடைத்துப்போடவேண்டும்.

33. Any earthen vessel into which any of them falls you shall break; and whatever is in it shall be unclean:

34. புசிக்கத்தக்க போஜனபதார்த்தத்தின்மேல் அந்தத் தண்ணீர் பட்டால், அது தீட்டாகும்; குடிக்கத்தக்க எந்தப்பானமும் அப்படிப்பட்ட பாத்திரத்தினால் தீட்டுப்படும்.

34. in such a vessel, any edible food upon which water falls shall be unclean, and any drink that may be drunk from it shall be unclean.

35. அவைகளின் உடலில் யாதொன்று எதின்மேல் விழுதோ, அதுவும் தீட்டுப்படும்; அடுப்பானாலும் மண்தொட்டியானாலும் தகர்க்கப்படுவதாக; அவைகள் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; ஆகையால், அவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

35. And everything on which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether it is an oven or cooking stove, it shall be broken down; for they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.

36. ஆனாலும், நீரூற்றும் மிகுந்த ஜலம் உண்டாகிய கிணறும், சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்; அவைகளிலுள்ள உடலைத் தொடுகிறவனோ தீட்டுப்படுவான்.

36. Nevertheless a spring or a cistern, in which there is a collection of water, shall be clean, but whatever touches the carcass shall be unclean.

37. மேற்சொல்லியவைகளின் உடலில் யாதொன்று விதைத்தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தால், அது தீட்டுப்படாது.

37. And if any part of the carcass falls on any planting seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

38. அந்த உடலில் யாதொன்று தண்ணீர் வார்க்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற விதையின்மேல் விழுந்ததானால், அது உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

38. But if water is put on the seed, and if any part of the carcass has fallen on it, it shall be unclean to you.

39. உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரத்துக்கான ஒரு மிருகம் செத்தால், அதின் உடலைத்தொடுகிறவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

39. And if any beast which is for your food dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until evening.

40. அதின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்தவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்; அதின் உடலை எடுத்துப்போனவனும் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

40. He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.

41. தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவை புசிக்கப்படலாகாது.

41. And every swarming thing that swarms on the earth shall be detestable. It shall not be eaten.

42. தரையில் ஊருகிற சகல பிராணிகளிலும், வயிற்றினால் நகருகிறவைகளையும், நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிறவைகளையும் அநேகங் கால்களுள்ளவைகளையும் புசியாதிருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகள் அருவருப்பானவைகள்.

42. Whatever goes on its belly, whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet among all swarming things that swarm on the earth; these you shall not eat, for they are detestable.

43. ஊருகிற எந்தப் பிராணிகளிலும் உங்களை அருவருப்பாக்கிக்கொள்ளாமலும், அவைகளால் தீட்டுப்படாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகளாலே நீங்கள் தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்.

43. You shall not make yourselves detestable with any swarming thing that swarms; nor shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled by them.

44. நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால், தரையில் ஊருகிற எந்தப் பிராணிகளிலும் உங்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாமல், உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக.
1 பேதுரு 1:16

44. For I am Jehovah your God. You shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any swarming thing that swarms on the earth.

45. நான் உங்கள் தேவனாயிருக்கும்படி உங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணின கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால். நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக.

45. For I am Jehovah who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46. சுத்தமானதற்கும் அசுத்தமானதற்கும், புசிக்கத்தக்க ஜந்துக்களுக்கும் புசிக்கத்தகாத ஜந்துக்களுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் பண்ணும்பொருட்டு,

46. This is the law of the beasts and the flying creatures and every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that swarms on the earth,

47. மிருகத்துக்கும், பறவைகளுக்கும், தண்ணீர்களில் நீந்துகிற சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களுக்கும், பூமியின்மேல் ஊருகிற சகல பிராணிகளுக்கும் அடுத்த பிரமாணம் இதுவே என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.

47. to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animals that may be eaten and the animals that may not be eaten.
