1. The LORD answered Moses, 'See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet.

2. You must say whatever I command you; then Aaron your brother must declare it to Pharaoh so that he will let the Israelites go from his land.

3. But I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

4. Pharaoh will not listen to you, but I will put My hand on Egypt and bring out the ranks of My people the Israelites, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.

5. The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out My hand against Egypt, and bring out the Israelites from among them.'

6. So Moses and Aaron did [this]; they did just as the LORD commanded them.

7. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron 83 when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8. The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

9. 'When Pharaoh tells you: Perform a miracle, tell Aaron: Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh. It will become a serpent.'

10. மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனிடத்தில் போய், கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி செய்தார்கள். ஆரோன் பார்வோனுக்கு முன்பாகவும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரருக்கு முன்பாகவும் தன் கோலைப் போட்டான், அது சர்ப்பமாயிற்று.

10. So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD had commanded. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.

11. But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers-- the magicians of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices.

12. Each one threw down his staff, and it became a serpent. But Aaron's staff swallowed their staffs.

13. However, Pharaoh's heart hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

14. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Pharaoh is unresponsive: he refuses to let the people go.

15. காலமே நீ பார்வோனிடத்துக்குப் போ, அவன் நதிக்குப் புறப்பட்டு வருவான்; நீ அவனுக்கு எதிராக நதியோரத்திலே நின்று, சர்ப்பமாக மாறின கோலை உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு,

15. Go to Pharaoh in the morning. When you see him walking out to the water, stand ready to meet him by the bank of the Nile. Take in your hand the staff that turned into a snake.

16. அவனை நோக்கி: வனாந்தரத்தில் எனக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய என் ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிடவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லும்படி எபிரெயருடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னை உம்மிடத்துக்கு அனுப்பியும், இது வரைக்கும் நீர் கேளாமற்போனீர்.

16. Tell him: The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you: Let My people go, so that they may worship Me in the wilderness, but so far you have not listened.

17. This is what the LORD says: Here is how you will know that I am the LORD. Watch. I will strike the water in the Nile with the staff in my hand, and it will turn to blood.

18. நதியில் இருக்கிற மீன்கள் செத்து, நதி நாறிப்போம்; அப்பொழுது நதியில் இருக்கிற தண்ணீரை எகிப்தியர் குடிக்கக்கூடாமல் அரோசிப்பார்கள்; இதினால் நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்வாய் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

18. The fish in the Nile will die, the river will stink, and the Egyptians will be unable to drink water from it.'

19. மேலும், கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ ஆரோனிடத்தில் உன் கோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எகிப்தின் நீர்நிலைகளாகிய அவர்கள் வாய்க்கால்கள்மேலும், நதிகள்மேலும், குளங்கள்மேலும், தண்ணீர் நிற்கிற எல்லா இடங்கள்மேலும், அவைகள் இரத்தமாகும்படிக்கு, உன் கையை நீட்டு; அப்பொழுது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் மரப்பாத்திரங்களிலும், கற்பாத்திரங்களிலும் இரத்தம் உண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

19. So the LORD said to Moses, 'Tell Aaron: Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt-- over their rivers, canals, ponds, and all their water reservoirs-- and they will become blood. There will be blood throughout the land of Egypt, even in wooden and stone [containers].'

20. கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடி மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் செய்தார்கள்; பார்வோனுடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும் கோலை ஓங்கி, நதியிலுள்ள தண்ணீரை அடிக்க, நதியிலுள்ள தண்ணீரெல்லாம் இரத்தமாய் மாறிப்போயிற்று.

20. Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the sight of Pharaoh and his officials, he raised the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile was turned to blood.

21. The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad the Egyptians could not drink water from it. There was blood throughout the land of Egypt.

22. But the magicians of Egypt did the same thing by their occult practices. So Pharaoh's heart hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

23. பார்வோன் இதையும் சிந்தியாமல், தன் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.

23. Pharaoh turned around, went into his palace, and didn't even take this to heart.

24. நதியின் தண்ணீர் குடிக்க உதவாதபடியால், குடிக்கத்தக்க தண்ணீருக்காக எகிப்தியர் எல்லாரும் நதியோரத்தில் ஊற்றுத் தோண்டினார்கள்.

24. All the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink because they could not drink the water from the river.

25. கர்த்தர் நதியை அடித்து ஏழுநாள் ஆயிற்று.

25. Seven days passed after the LORD struck the Nile.
