1. அப்பொழுது மோசே: அவர்கள் என்னை நம்பார்கள்; என் வாக்குக்குச் செவிகொடார்கள்; கர்த்தர் உனக்குத் தரிசனமாகவில்லை என்று சொல்லுவார்கள் என்றான்.

1. AND MOSES answered, But behold, they will not believe me or listen to and obey my voice; for they will say, The Lord has not appeared to you.

2. கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் கையிலிருக்கிறது என்ன என்றார். ஒரு கோல் என்றான்.

2. And the Lord said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod.

3. அதைத் தரையிலே போடு என்றார்; அவன் அதைத் தரையிலே போட்டபோது, அது சர்ப்பமாயிற்று; மோசே அதற்கு விலகியோடினான்.

3. And He said, Cast it on the ground. And he did so and it became a serpent [the symbol of royal and divine power worn on the crown of the Pharaohs]; and Moses fled from before it.

4. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: உன் கையை நீட்டி, அதின் வாலைப் பிடி என்றார்; அவன் தன் கையை நீட்டி, அதைப் பிடித்தபோது, அது அவன் கையிலே கோலாயிற்று.

4. And the Lord said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail. And he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand,

5. ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும் ஈசாக்கின் தேவனும் யாக்கோபின் தேவனுமாயிருக்கிற தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குத் தரிசனமானதை அவர்கள் நம்புவதற்கு இதுவே அடையாளம் என்றார்.

5. [This you shall do, said the Lord] that the elders may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has indeed appeared to you.

6. மேலும், கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் கையை உன் மடியிலே போடு என்றார்; அவன் தன் கையைத் தன் மடியிலே போட்டு, அதை வெளியே எடுக்கும்போது, இதோ, அவன் கை உறைந்த மழையைப்போல வெண்குஷ்டம் பிடித்திருந்தது.

6. The Lord said also to him, Put your hand into your bosom. He put his hand into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7. அவர்: உன் கையைத் திரும்பவும் உன் மடியிலே போடு என்றார். அவன் தன் கையைத் திரும்பத் தன் மடியிலே போட்டு, தன் மடியிலிருந்து அதை வெளியே எடுத்தபோது, அது திரும்ப அவனுடைய மற்றச் சதையைப்போலாயிற்று.

7. [God] said, Put your hand into your bosom again. So he put his hand back into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored as the rest of his flesh.

8. அப்பொழுது அவர்: முந்தின அடையாளத்தை அவர்கள் கண்டு, உன்னை நம்பாமலும் உனக்குச் செவிகொடாமலும் போனால், பிந்தின அடையாளத்தைக் கண்டு நம்புவார்கள்.

8. [Then God said] If they will not believe you or heed the voice or the testimony of the first sign, they may believe the voice or the witness of the second sign.

9. இவ்விரண்டு அடையாளங்களையும் அவர்கள் நம்பாமலும், உன் வாக்குக்குச் செவிகொடமலும் இருப்பார்களானால், அப்பொழுது நீ நதியின் தண்ணீரை மொண்டு நிலத்தில் ஊற்றுவாயாக; நதியில் மொண்ட தண்ணீர் வெட்டாந்தரையிலே இரத்தமாகும் என்றார்.

9. But if they will also not believe these two signs or heed your voice, you shall take some water of the river [Nile] and pour it upon the dry land; and the water which you take out of the river [Nile] shall become blood on the dry land.

10. அப்பொழுது மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இதற்கு முன்னாவது, தேவரீர் உமது அடியேனோடே பேசினதற்குப் பின்னாவது நான் வாக்குவல்லவன் அல்ல; நான் திக்குவாயும் மந்த நாவும் உள்ளவன் என்றான்.

10. And Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I am not eloquent or a man of words, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and have a heavy and awkward tongue.

11. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: மனுஷனுக்கு வாயை உண்டாக்கினவர் யார்? ஊமையனையும் செவிடனையும் பார்வையுள்ளவனையும் குருடனையும் உண்டாக்கினவர் யார்? கர்த்தராகிய நான் அல்லவா?

11. And the Lord said to him, Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

12. ஆதலால், நீ போ; நான் உன் வாயோடே இருந்து, நீ பேசவேண்டியதை உனக்குப் போதிப்பேன் என்றார்.

12. Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you shall say.

13. அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே. நீர் அனுப்பச் சித்தமாயிருக்கிற யாரையாகிலும் அனுப்பும் என்றான்.

13. And he said, Oh, my Lord, I pray You, send by the hand of [some other] whom You will [send].

14. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயின் மேல் கோபம்மூண்டவராகி: லேவியனாகிய ஆரோன் உன் சகோதரன் அல்லவா? அவன் நன்றாய்ப் பேசுகிறவன் என்று அறிவேன்; அவன் உன்னைச் சந்திக்கப் புறப்பட்டு வருகிறான்; உன்னைக் காணும்போது அவன் இருதயம் மகிழும்.

14. Then the anger of the Lord blazed against Moses; He said, Is there not Aaron your brother, the Levite? I know he can speak well. Also, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be overjoyed.

15. நீ அவனோடே பேசி, அவன் வாயில் வார்த்தைகளைப் போடு; நான் உன் வாயிலும் அவன் வாயிலும் இருந்து, நீங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியதை உங்களுக்கு உணர்த்துவேன்.

15. You must speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what you shall do.

16. அவன் உனக்குப் பதிலாக ஜனங்களோடே பேசுவான்; இவ்விதமாய் அவன் உனக்கு வாயாக இருப்பான்; நீ அவனுக்குத் தேவனாக இருப்பாய்.

16. He shall speak for you to the people, acting as a mouthpiece for you, and you shall be as God to him.

17. இந்தக் கோலையும் உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோ, இதனால் நீ அடையாளங்களைச் செய்வாய் என்றார்.

17. And you shall take this rod in your hand with which you shall work the signs [that prove I sent you].

18. மோசே தன் மாமனாகிய எத்திரோவினிடத்துக்கு வந்து: நான் எகிப்திலிருக்கிற என் சகோதரரிடத்துக்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், அவர்கள் இன்னும் உயிரோடே இருக்கிறார்களா என்று பார்க்கும்படிப் புறப்பட்டுப்போக உத்தரவு தரவேண்டும் என்றான். அப்பொழுது எத்திரோ மோசேயை நோக்கி: சுகமாய்ப் போய்வாரும் என்றான்.

18. And Moses went away and, returning to Jethro his father-in-law, said to him, Let me go back, I pray you, to my relatives in Egypt to see whether they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

19. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மீதியானிலே மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ எகிப்துக்குத் திரும்பிப் போ, உன் பிராணனை வாங்கத்தேடின மனிதர் எல்லாரும் இறந்துபோனார்கள் என்றார்.
மத்தேயு 2:20

19. The Lord said to Moses in Midian, Go back to Egypt; for all the men who were seeking your life [for killing the Egyptian] are dead. [Exod. 2:11, 12.]

20. அப்பொழுது மோசே தன் மனைவியையும் தன் பிள்ளைகளையும் கழுதையின் மேல் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, எகிப்து தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; தேவனுடைய கோலையும் மோசே தன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.

20. And Moses took his wife and his sons and set them on donkeys, and he returned to the land of Egypt; and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

21. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ எகிப்திலே திரும்பிப்போய்ச் சேர்ந்தபின், நான் உன் கையில் அளித்திருக்கிற அற்புதங்கள் யாவையும் பார்வோனுக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்யும்படி எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு; ஆகிலும், நான் அவன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்துவேன்; அவன் ஜனத்தைப் போகவிடான்.

21. And the Lord said to Moses, When you return into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all those miracles and wonders which I have put in your hand; but I will make him stubborn and harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

22. அப்பொழுது நீ பார்வோனோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: இஸ்ரவேல் என்னுடைய குமாரன், என் சேஷ்டபுத்திரன்.
ரோமர் 9:4

22. And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says the Lord, Israel is My son, even My firstborn.

23. எனக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி என் குமாரனை அனுப்பிவிடு என்று கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்; அவனை விடமாட்டேன் என்பாயாகில் நான் உன்னுடைய குமாரனை, உன் சேஷ்டபுத்திரனைச் சங்கரிப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொன்னார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

23. And I say to you, Let My son go, that he may serve Me; and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, your firstborn.

24. வழியிலே தங்கும் இடத்தில் கர்த்தர் அவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டு, அவனைக் கொல்லப்பார்த்தார்.

24. Along the way at a [resting-] place, the Lord met [Moses] and sought to kill him [made him acutely and almost fatally ill].

25. அப்பொழுது சிப்போராள் கருக்கான ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, தன் புத்திரனுடைய நுனித்தோலை அறுத்து, அதை அவன் கால்களுக்கு முன்பாக எறிந்து: நீர் எனக்கு இரத்தசம்பந்தமான புருஷன் என்றாள்.

25. [Now apparently he had failed to circumcise one of his sons, his wife being opposed to it; but seeing his life in such danger] Zipporah took a flint knife and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it to touch [Moses'] feet, and said, Surely a husband of blood you are to me!

26. பின்பு அவர் அவனைவிட்டு விலகினார். அப்பொழுது அவள்: விருத்தசேதனத்தினிமித்தம் நீர் எனக்கு இரத்தசம்பந்தமான புருஷன் என்றாள்.

26. When He let [Moses] alone [to recover], Zipporah said, A husband of blood are you because of the circumcision.

27. கர்த்தர் ஆரோனை நோக்கி: நீ வனாந்தரத்தில் மோசேக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோ என்றார். அவன் போய், தேவபர்வதத்தில் அவனைச் சந்தித்து, அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்.

27. The Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mountain of God [Horeb, or Sinai] and kissed him.

28. அப்பொழுது மோசே தன்னை அனுப்பின கர்த்தருடைய சகல வார்த்தைகளையும் அவர் தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட சகல அடையாளங்களையும் ஆரோனுக்குத் தெரிவித்தான்.

28. Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which He had sent him, and all the signs with which He had charged him.

29. மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் போய், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் மூப்பர் எல்லாரையும் கூடிவரச் செய்தார்கள்.

29. Moses and Aaron went and gathered together [in Egypt] all the elders of the Israelites.

30. கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குச் சொல்லிய சகல வார்த்தைகளையும் ஆரோன் சொல்லி, ஜனங்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக அந்த அடையாளங்களையும் செய்தான்.

30. Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31. ஜனங்கள் விசுவாசித்தார்கள்; கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைச் சந்தித்தார் என்றும், அவர்கள் படும் உபத்திரவங்களைக் கண்ணோக்கிப்பார்த்தார் என்றும், அவர்கள் கேட்டபோது, தலைகுனிந்துத் தொழுதுகொண்டார்கள்.

31. And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the Israelites, and that He had looked [in compassion] upon their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.
