1. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீயும், எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த ஜனங்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு. உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள்.

1. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: Depart and go vp hence, thou and the people whiche thou hast brought out of the lande of Egypt, vnto the lande which I sware vnto Abraham, Isahac, & Iacob, saying, vnto thy seede wyll I geue it.

2. நான் ஒரு தூதனை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பி, கானானியனையும் எமோரியனையும் ஏத்தியனையும் பெரிசியனையும் ஏவியனையும் எபூசியனையும் துரத்திவிடுவேன்.

2. And I will send an angell before thee, and I wyll cast out the Chanaanites, the Amorites, & the Hethites, the Pherezites, the Heuites, and the Iebusites:

3. ஆனாலும், வழியிலே நான் உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, நான் உங்கள் நடுவே செல்லமாட்டேன், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள் என்றார்.

3. Unto a lande that floweth with mylke and hony. For I wyll not go amongest you my selfe: for ye are a styfnecked people, lest I consume thee in the way.

4. துக்கமான இவ்வார்த்தைகளை ஜனங்கள் கேட்டபோது, ஒருவரும் தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைப் போட்டுக்கொள்ளாமல் துக்கித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

4. And when the people hearde this euil tidinges, they sorowed: and no man dyd put on his best rayment.

5. ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள், நான் ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் உங்கள் நடுவில் எழும்பி, உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணுவேன்; ஆகையால், நீங்கள் போட்டிருக்கிற உங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியதை அறிவேன் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல் என்று கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

5. And the Lorde spake vnto Moyses: Say vnto the chyldren of Israel, ye are a styfnecked people: I must come once sodaynly vpon you, and make an ende of you: therefore nowe put thy goodly rayment from thee, that I may wyt what to do vnto thee.

6. ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ஓரேப் மலையருகே தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போட்டார்கள்.

6. And the children of Israel layde their goodly rayment from them, euen by the mount Horeb.

7. மோசே கூடாரத்தைப் பெயர்த்து, அதைப் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே தூரத்திலே போட்டு, அதற்கு ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரம் என்று பேரிட்டான். கர்த்தரைத்தேடும் யாவரும் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பான ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குப் போவார்கள்.

7. And Moyses toke the tabernacle, and pitched it without the hoast a farre of from the hoast, and called it the tabernacle of the congregation: And so it came to passe that euery one whiche woulde pray vnto the Lorde, went out vnto the tabernacle of the congregation whiche was without the hoast.

8. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குப் போகும்போது, ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றுகொண்டு, அவன் கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்குமட்டும், அவன் பின்னே பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

8. And when Moyses went out vnto the tabernacle, all the people rose vp, and stode euery man at his tent doore, and loked after Moyses, vntill he was gone into the tabernacle.

9. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில், மேகஸ்தம்பம் இறங்கி, கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றது; கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே பேசினார்.

9. And assoone as Moyses was entred into the tabernacle, the cloudie piller descended, and stode at the doore of the tabernacle, and he talked with Moyses.

10. ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மேகஸ்தம்பம் கூடாரவாசலில் நிற்கக்கண்டார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

10. And all the people sawe the cloudie piller stand at the tabernacle doore, and they rose vp and worshipped euery man in his tent doore.

11. ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதனோடே பேசுவதுபோல, கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே முகமுகமாய்ப் பேசினார்; பின்பு, அவன் பாளையத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரனாகிய வாலிபன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருந்தான்.

11. And the Lord spake vnto Moyses face to face, as a man speaketh vnto his freende. And he turued agayne into the hoast: but the young man Iosuah his seruaunt the sonne of Nun, departed not out of the tabernacle.

12. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொன்னீர்; ஆகிலும், என்னோடேகூட இன்னாரை அனுப்புவேன் என்பதை எனக்கு நீர் அறிவிக்கவில்லை; என்றாலும், உன்னைப் பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றும், என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது என்றும், தேவரீர் சொன்னதுண்டே;

12. And Moyses said vnto the Lord: See, thou sayest vnto me, Leade this people foorth: & thou hast not shewed me who thou wylt send with me. And thou hast sayd moreouer, I knowe thee by name, & thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13. உம்முடைய கண்களில் இப்பொழுது எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால் நான் உம்மை அறிவதற்கும், உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைப்பதற்கும், உம்முடைய வழியை எனக்கு அறிவியும்; இந்த ஜாதி உம்முடைய ஜனமென்று நினைத்தருளும் என்றான்.

13. Nowe therfore, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, then I pray thee shew me thy way, that I may know thee, and that I may finde grace in thy sight, and consider also that this nation is thy people.

14. அதற்கு அவர்: என் சமுகம் உனக்கு முன்பாகச் செல்லும், நான் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன் என்றார்.

14. And he said: My presence shall go with thee, and I wyll geue thee rest.

15. அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சமுகம் என்னோடேகூடச் செல்லாமற்போனால், எங்களை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுபோகாதிரும்.

15. He sayd vnto hym: If thy presence go not with me, cary vs not hence.

16. எனக்கும் உமது ஜனங்களுக்கும் உம்முடைய கண்களிலே கிருபை கிடைத்ததென்பது எதினால் அறியப்படும்; நீர் எங்களோடே வருவதினால் அல்லவா? இப்படியே பூமியின்மேலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரிலும், நானும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களும் விசேஷித்தவர்கள் என்று விளங்கும் என்றான்.

16. For howe shall it be knowen here, that I and thy people haue founde fauour in thy sight, but in that thou goest with vs? If thou goest with vs, shall not I and thy people haue preeminence before all the people that are vpon the face of the earth?

17. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ சொன்ன இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வேன்; என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது; உன்னைப்பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

17. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: I wyll do this also that thou hast sayd, for thou hast founde grace in my sight, and I knowe thee by name.

18. அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய மகிமையை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தருளும் என்றான்.

18. And he sayde: I beseche thee shewe me thy glorie.

19. அதற்கு அவர்: என்னுடைய தயையை எல்லாம் நான் உனக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்துபோகப்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை உனக்கு முன்பாகக்கூறுவேன்; எவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருப்பேன்; எவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி,

19. Who aunswered: I wyll make all my good go before thee, & I wyll call in the name of Iehouah before thee: and wyl shewe mercy to whom I wyll shewe mercy, and wyll haue compassion, on whom I wyll haue compassion.

20. நீ என் முகத்தைக் காணமாட்டாய், ஒரு மனுஷனும் என்னைக் கண்டு உயிரோடிருக்கக்கூடாது என்றார்.

20. And he said furthermore, Thou mayest not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and lyue.

21. பின்னும் கர்த்தர்: இதோ, என்னண்டையில் ஒரு இடம் உண்டு; நீ அங்கே கன்மலையில் நில்லு.

21. And the Lorde sayd: Beholde, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stande vpon a rocke.

22. என் மகிமை கடந்துபோகும்போது, நான் உன்னை அந்தக் கன்மலையின் வெடிப்பிலே வைத்து, நான் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் என் கரத்தினால் உன்னை மூடுவேன்;

22. And whyle my glory goeth foorth, I wyll put thee in a clyft of the rocke, and will put my hand vpon thee, while I passe by.

23. பின்பு, என் கரத்தை எடுப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது என் பின்பக்கத்தைக் காண்பாய்; என் முகமோ காணப்படாது என்றார்.

23. And I wyll take away myne hande, and thou shalt see my backe partes: but my face shall not be seene.
