1. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீயும், எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த ஜனங்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு. உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள்.

1. And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, 'Go, ascend from this [place], thou and the people, whom thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, To thy seed I give it,'

2. நான் ஒரு தூதனை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பி, கானானியனையும் எமோரியனையும் ஏத்தியனையும் பெரிசியனையும் ஏவியனையும் எபூசியனையும் துரத்திவிடுவேன்.

2. (and I have sent before thee a messenger, and have cast out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite,)

3. ஆனாலும், வழியிலே நான் உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, நான் உங்கள் நடுவே செல்லமாட்டேன், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள் என்றார்.

3. unto a land flowing with milk and honey, for I do not go up in thy midst, for thou [art] a stiff-necked people -- lest I consume thee in the way.'

4. துக்கமான இவ்வார்த்தைகளை ஜனங்கள் கேட்டபோது, ஒருவரும் தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைப் போட்டுக்கொள்ளாமல் துக்கித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

4. And the people hear this sad thing, and mourn; and none put his ornaments on him.

5. ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள், நான் ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் உங்கள் நடுவில் எழும்பி, உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணுவேன்; ஆகையால், நீங்கள் போட்டிருக்கிற உங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியதை அறிவேன் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல் என்று கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

5. And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Say unto the sons of Israel, Ye [are] a stiff-necked people; one moment -- I come up into thy midst, and have consumed thee; and now, put down thine ornaments from off thee, and I know what I do to thee;'

6. ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ஓரேப் மலையருகே தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போட்டார்கள்.

6. and the sons of Israel take off their ornaments at mount Horeb.

7. மோசே கூடாரத்தைப் பெயர்த்து, அதைப் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே தூரத்திலே போட்டு, அதற்கு ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரம் என்று பேரிட்டான். கர்த்தரைத்தேடும் யாவரும் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பான ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குப் போவார்கள்.

7. And Moses taketh the tent, and hath stretched it out at the outside of the camp, afar off from the camp, and hath called it, 'Tent of Meeting;' and it hath come to pass, every one seeking Jehovah goeth out unto the tent of meeting, which [is] at the outside of the camp.

8. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குப் போகும்போது, ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றுகொண்டு, அவன் கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்குமட்டும், அவன் பின்னே பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

8. And it hath come to pass, at the going out of Moses unto the tent, all the people rise, and have stood, each at the opening of his tent, and have looked expectingly after Moses, until his going into the tent.

9. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில், மேகஸ்தம்பம் இறங்கி, கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றது; கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே பேசினார்.

9. And it hath come to pass, at the going in of Moses to the tent, the pillar of the cloud cometh down, and hath stood at the opening of the tent, and He hath spoken with Moses;

10. ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மேகஸ்தம்பம் கூடாரவாசலில் நிற்கக்கண்டார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

10. and all the people have seen the pillar of the cloud standing at the opening of the tent, and all the people have risen and bowed themselves, each at the opening of his tent.

11. ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதனோடே பேசுவதுபோல, கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே முகமுகமாய்ப் பேசினார்; பின்பு, அவன் பாளையத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரனாகிய வாலிபன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருந்தான்.

11. And Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses face unto face, as a man speaketh unto his friend; and he hath turned back unto the camp, and his minister Joshua, son of Nun, a youth, departeth not out of the tent.

12. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொன்னீர்; ஆகிலும், என்னோடேகூட இன்னாரை அனுப்புவேன் என்பதை எனக்கு நீர் அறிவிக்கவில்லை; என்றாலும், உன்னைப் பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றும், என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது என்றும், தேவரீர் சொன்னதுண்டே;

12. And Moses saith unto Jehovah, 'See, Thou art saying unto me, Bring up this people, and Thou hast not caused me to know whom Thou dost send with me; and Thou hast said, I have known thee by name, and also thou hast found grace in Mine eyes.

13. உம்முடைய கண்களில் இப்பொழுது எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால் நான் உம்மை அறிவதற்கும், உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைப்பதற்கும், உம்முடைய வழியை எனக்கு அறிவியும்; இந்த ஜாதி உம்முடைய ஜனமென்று நினைத்தருளும் என்றான்.

13. 'And now, if, I pray Thee, I have found grace in Thine eyes, cause me to know, I pray Thee, Thy way, and I know Thee, so that I find grace in Thine eyes, and consider that this nation [is] Thy people;'

14. அதற்கு அவர்: என் சமுகம் உனக்கு முன்பாகச் செல்லும், நான் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன் என்றார்.

14. and He saith, 'My presence doth go, and I have given rest to thee.'

15. அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சமுகம் என்னோடேகூடச் செல்லாமற்போனால், எங்களை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுபோகாதிரும்.

15. And he saith unto Him, 'If Thy presence is not going -- take us not up from this [place];

16. எனக்கும் உமது ஜனங்களுக்கும் உம்முடைய கண்களிலே கிருபை கிடைத்ததென்பது எதினால் அறியப்படும்; நீர் எங்களோடே வருவதினால் அல்லவா? இப்படியே பூமியின்மேலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரிலும், நானும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களும் விசேஷித்தவர்கள் என்று விளங்கும் என்றான்.

16. and in what is it known now, that I have found grace in Thine eyes -- I and Thy people -- is it not in Thy going with us? and we have been distinguished -- I and Thy people -- from all the people who [are] on the face of the ground.'

17. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ சொன்ன இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வேன்; என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது; உன்னைப்பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

17. And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Even this thing which thou hast spoken I do; for thou hast found grace in Mine eyes, and I know thee by name.'

18. அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய மகிமையை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தருளும் என்றான்.

18. And he saith, 'Shew me, I pray Thee, Thine honour;'

19. அதற்கு அவர்: என்னுடைய தயையை எல்லாம் நான் உனக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்துபோகப்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை உனக்கு முன்பாகக்கூறுவேன்; எவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருப்பேன்; எவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி,

19. and He saith, 'I cause all My goodness to pass before thy face, and have called concerning the Name of Jehovah before thee, and favoured him whom I favour, and loved him whom I love.'

20. நீ என் முகத்தைக் காணமாட்டாய், ஒரு மனுஷனும் என்னைக் கண்டு உயிரோடிருக்கக்கூடாது என்றார்.

20. He saith also, 'Thou art unable to see My face, for man doth not see Me, and live;'

21. பின்னும் கர்த்தர்: இதோ, என்னண்டையில் ஒரு இடம் உண்டு; நீ அங்கே கன்மலையில் நில்லு.

21. Jehovah also saith, 'Lo, a place [is] by Me, and thou hast stood on the rock,

22. என் மகிமை கடந்துபோகும்போது, நான் உன்னை அந்தக் கன்மலையின் வெடிப்பிலே வைத்து, நான் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் என் கரத்தினால் உன்னை மூடுவேன்;

22. and it hath come to pass, in the passing by of Mine honour, that I have set thee in a cleft of the rock, and spread out My hands over thee, until My passing by,

23. பின்பு, என் கரத்தை எடுப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது என் பின்பக்கத்தைக் காண்பாய்; என் முகமோ காணப்படாது என்றார்.

23. and I have turned aside My hands, and thou hast seen My back parts, and My face is not seen.'
