1. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீயும், எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த ஜனங்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு. உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள்.

1. Then the Lord said to Moses, 'You and the people you brought out of Egypt must leave this place. Go to the land that I promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I promised them that I would give that land to their descendants.

2. நான் ஒரு தூதனை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பி, கானானியனையும் எமோரியனையும் ஏத்தியனையும் பெரிசியனையும் ஏவியனையும் எபூசியனையும் துரத்திவிடுவேன்.

2. So I will send an angel to go before you, and I will defeat the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. I will force them to leave your land.

3. So go to the land filled with many good things, but I will not go with you. You people are very stubborn. If I go with you, I might destroy you along the way.'

4. The people heard this bad news and became very sad, so they stopped wearing jewelry.

5. This was because the Lord said to Moses, 'Tell the Israelites, 'You are a stubborn people. I might destroy you even if I travel with you only a short time. So take off all your jewelry while I decide what to do with you.''

6. ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ஓரேப் மலையருகே தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போட்டார்கள்.

6. So the Israelites stopped wearing their jewelry at Mount Horeb.

7. மோசே கூடாரத்தைப் பெயர்த்து, அதைப் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே தூரத்திலே போட்டு, அதற்கு ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரம் என்று பேரிட்டான். கர்த்தரைத்தேடும் யாவரும் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பான ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குப் போவார்கள்.

7. Moses used to take a tent a short way outside the camp. He called it 'the meeting tent. ' Anyone who wanted to ask something from the Lord would go to the meeting tent outside the camp.

8. Any time Moses went out to the tent, all the people watched him. They stood at the entrance of their tents and watched Moses until he entered the meeting tent.

9. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில், மேகஸ்தம்பம் இறங்கி, கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றது; கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே பேசினார்.

9. Whenever Moses went into the tent, the tall cloud would come down and stay at the entrance to the tent. And the Lord would speak with Moses.

10. ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மேகஸ்தம்பம் கூடாரவாசலில் நிற்கக்கண்டார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

10. So when the people saw the cloud at the entrance of the tent, they would go to the entrance of their own tents and bow down to worship God.

11. ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதனோடே பேசுவதுபோல, கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே முகமுகமாய்ப் பேசினார்; பின்பு, அவன் பாளையத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரனாகிய வாலிபன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருந்தான்.

11. In this way the Lord spoke to Moses face to face like a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would go back to the camp, but his helper, Joshua son of Nun, always stayed in the tent.

12. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொன்னீர்; ஆகிலும், என்னோடேகூட இன்னாரை அனுப்புவேன் என்பதை எனக்கு நீர் அறிவிக்கவில்லை; என்றாலும், உன்னைப் பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றும், என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது என்றும், தேவரீர் சொன்னதுண்டே;

12. Moses said to the Lord, 'You told me to lead these people, but you did not say who you would send with me. You said to me, 'I know you very well, and I am pleased with you.'

13. உம்முடைய கண்களில் இப்பொழுது எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால் நான் உம்மை அறிவதற்கும், உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைப்பதற்கும், உம்முடைய வழியை எனக்கு அறிவியும்; இந்த ஜாதி உம்முடைய ஜனமென்று நினைத்தருளும் என்றான்.

13. If I have really pleased you, then teach me your ways. I want to know you. Then I can continue to please you. Remember that these people are your nation.'

14. அதற்கு அவர்: என் சமுகம் உனக்கு முன்பாகச் செல்லும், நான் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன் என்றார்.

14. The Lord answered, 'I myself will go with you. I will lead you.'

15. அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சமுகம் என்னோடேகூடச் செல்லாமற்போனால், எங்களை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுபோகாதிரும்.

15. Then Moses said to the him, 'If you don't go with us, then don't make us leave this place.

16. எனக்கும் உமது ஜனங்களுக்கும் உம்முடைய கண்களிலே கிருபை கிடைத்ததென்பது எதினால் அறியப்படும்; நீர் எங்களோடே வருவதினால் அல்லவா? இப்படியே பூமியின்மேலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரிலும், நானும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களும் விசேஷித்தவர்கள் என்று விளங்கும் என்றான்.

16. Also, how will we know if you are pleased with me and these people? If you go with us, we will know for sure. If you don't go with us, these people and I will be no different from any other people on the earth.'

17. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ சொன்ன இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வேன்; என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது; உன்னைப்பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

17. Then the Lord said to Moses, 'I will do what you ask. I will do this because I am pleased with you and because I know you very well.'

18. அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய மகிமையை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தருளும் என்றான்.

18. Then Moses said, 'Now, please show me your Glory. '

19. அதற்கு அவர்: என்னுடைய தயையை எல்லாம் நான் உனக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்துபோகப்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை உனக்கு முன்பாகக்கூறுவேன்; எவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருப்பேன்; எவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி,

19. Then the Lord answered, 'I will show my love and mercy to anyone I want to. So I will cause my perfect goodness to pass by in front of you, and I will speak my name, the Lord, so that you can hear it.

20. நீ என் முகத்தைக் காணமாட்டாய், ஒரு மனுஷனும் என்னைக் கண்டு உயிரோடிருக்கக்கூடாது என்றார்.

20. But you cannot see my face. No one can see me and continue to live.

21. பின்னும் கர்த்தர்: இதோ, என்னண்டையில் ஒரு இடம் உண்டு; நீ அங்கே கன்மலையில் நில்லு.

21. Here is a place by me where you stand on this large rock.

22. என் மகிமை கடந்துபோகும்போது, நான் உன்னை அந்தக் கன்மலையின் வெடிப்பிலே வைத்து, நான் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் என் கரத்தினால் உன்னை மூடுவேன்;

22. I will put you in a large crack in that rock. Then I will cover you with my hand, and my Glory will pass by.

23. பின்பு, என் கரத்தை எடுப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது என் பின்பக்கத்தைக் காண்பாய்; என் முகமோ காணப்படாது என்றார்.

23. Then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back. But you will not see my face.'
