1. The LORD said to Moses, 'Come up to me on this mountain. Bring along Aaron, as well as his two sons Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of Israel's leaders. They must worship me at a distance,

2. மோசே மாத்திரம் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் சமீபித்து வரலாம்; அவர்கள் சமீபித்து வரலாகாது; ஜனங்கள் அவனோடேகூட ஏறிவரவேண்டாம் என்றார்.

2. but you are to come near. Don't let anyone else come up.'

3. மோசே வந்து, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகள் யாவையும் நியாயங்கள் யாவையும் ஜனங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஏகசத்தமாய்: கர்த்தர் அருளின எல்லா வார்த்தைகளின்படியும் செய்வோம் என்று பிரதியுத்தரம் சொன்னார்கள்.

3. Moses gave the LORD's instructions to the people, and they promised, 'We will do everything the LORD has commanded!'

4. மோசே கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் எழுதிவைத்து, அதிகாலமே எழுந்து, மலையின் அடியில் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, இஸ்ரவேலுடைய பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரங்களுடைய இலக்கத்தின்படியே பன்னிரண்டு தூண்களை நிறுத்தினான்.

4. Then Moses wrote down what the LORD had said. The next morning Moses got up early. He built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up a large stone for each of the twelve tribes of Israel.

5. He also sent some young men to burn offerings and to sacrifice bulls as special offerings to the LORD.

6. அப்பொழுது மோசே அந்த இரத்தத்தில் பாதி எடுத்து, பாத்திரங்களில் வார்த்து, பாதி இரத்தத்தைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்து,

6. Moses put half of the blood from the animals into bowls and sprinkled the rest on the altar.

7. உடன்படிக்கையின் புஸ்தகத்தை எடுத்து, ஜனங்களின் காது கேட்க வாசித்தான்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தர் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் செய்து, கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

7. Then he read aloud the LORD's commands and promises, and the people shouted, 'We will obey the LORD and do everything he has commanded!'

8. அப்பொழுது மோசே இரத்தத்தை எடுத்து, ஜனங்களின்மேல் தெளித்து, இந்த வார்த்தைகள் யாவையுங்குறித்து கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தம் இதுவே என்றான்.

8. Moses took the blood from the bowls and sprinkled it on the people. Next, he told them, 'With this blood the LORD makes his agreement with you.'

9. பின்பு மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் நாதாபும் அபியூவும், இஸ்ரவேலருடைய மூப்பரின் எழுபதுபேரும் ஏறிப்போய்,

9. Moses and Aaron, together with Nadab and Abihu and the seventy leaders, went up the mountain

10. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனைத் தரிசித்தார்கள். அவருடைய பாதத்தின்கீழே நீலக்கல்லிழைத்த வேலைக்கு ஒப்பாகவும் தெளிந்த வானத்தின் பிரபைக்கு ஒப்பாகவும் இருந்தது.

10. and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something that looked like a pavement made out of sapphire, and it was as bright as the sky.

11. அவர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய அதிபதிகள்மேல் தம்முடைய கையை நீட்டவில்லை; அவர்கள் தேவனைத் தரிசித்து, பின்பு புசித்துக் குடித்தார்கள்.

11. Even though these leaders of Israel saw God, he did not punish them. So they ate and drank.

12. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ மலையின்மேல் என்னிடத்திற்கு ஏறிவந்து, அங்கே இரு நான் உனக்குக் கற்பலகைகளையும், நீ அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசிப்பதற்கு, நான் எழுதின நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தையும் கற்பனைகளையும் கொடுப்பேன் என்றார்.

12. The LORD said to Moses, 'Come up on the mountain and stay here for a while. I will give you the two flat stones on which I have written the laws that my people must obey.'

13. அப்பொழுது மோசே தன் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய யோசுவாவோடே எழுந்து போனான். மோசே தேவ பர்வதத்தில் ஏறிப்போகையில்,

13. Moses and Joshua his assistant got ready, then Moses started up the mountain to meet with God.

14. அவன் மூப்பரை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் உங்களிடத்தில் திரும்பிவருமட்டும், நீங்கள் இங்கே எங்களுக்காகக் காத்திருங்கள்; ஆரோனும் ஊரும் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; ஒருவனுக்கு யாதொரு காரியம் உண்டானால், அவன் அவர்களிடத்தில் போகலாம் என்றான்.

14. Moses had told the leaders, 'Wait here until we come back. Aaron and Hur will be with you, and they can settle any arguments while we are away.'

15. மோசே மலையின்மேல் ஏறினபோது, ஒரு மேகம் மலையை மூடிற்று.

15. When Moses went up on Mount Sinai, a cloud covered it,

16. கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை சீனாய்மலையின்மேல் தங்கியிருந்தது; மேகம் ஆறுநாள் அதை மூடியிருந்தது; ஏழாம்நாளில் அவர் மேகத்தின் நடுவிலிருந்து மோசேயைக் கூப்பிட்டார்.

16. and the bright glory of the LORD came down and stayed there. The cloud covered the mountain for six days, and on the seventh day the LORD told Moses to come into the cloud.

17. மலையின் கொடுமுடியிலே கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையின் காட்சி இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கண்களுக்குப் பட்சிக்கிற அக்கினியைப்போல் இருந்தது.

17. Moses did so and stayed there forty days and nights. To the people, the LORD's glory looked like a blazing fire on top of the mountain.

18. மோசே மேகத்தின் நடுவிலே பிரவேசித்து, மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, இரவும் பகலும் நாற்பதுநாள் மலையில் இருந்தான்.
