1. ஒருவன் ஒரு மாட்டையாவது ஒரு ஆட்டையாவது திருடி, அதைக் கொன்றால், அல்லது அதை விற்றால், அவன் அந்த மாட்டுக்கு ஐந்து மாடுகளையும், அந்த ஆட்டுக்கு நாலு ஆடுகளையும் பதிலாகக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்.
லூக்கா 19:8

1. If a man steal an ox or sheep and kill it or sell it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

2. திருடன் கன்னமிடுகையில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டு, அடிக்கப்பட்டுச் செத்தால், அவன் நிமித்தம் இரத்தபழி சுமராது.

2. If a thief be found breaking up and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him:

3. சூரியன் அவன்மேல் உதித்திருந்ததானால், அவன் நிமித்தம் இரத்தப்பழி சுமரும்; திருடன் பதில் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்கவேண்டும்; அவன் கையில் ஒன்றும் இல்லாதிருந்தால், தான் செய்த களவுக்காக விலைப்படக்கடவன்.

3. except the son(sonne) be up when he is found, then there shall be blood shed for him. A thief shall make restitution: If he have not wherewith, he shall be sold for his theft.

4. அவன் திருடின மாடாவது கழுதையாவது ஆடாவது உயிருடனே அவன் கையில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால், இரட்டிப்பாய் அவன் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

4. If the theft be found in his hand alive (whether it be ox, ass or sheep) he shall restore double.

5. ஒருவன் பிறனுடைய வயலிலாவது திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலாவது தன் மிருகஜீவனை மேயவிட்டால், அவன் தன் சுயவயலிலும் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலுமுள்ள பலனில் உத்தமமானதை எடுத்து, பதில் செலுத்தக்கடவன்.

5. If a man do hurt field or vineyard, so that he put in his beast to feed in another man's field: of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.

6. அக்கினி எழும்பி, முள்ளுக்களில் பற்றி, தானியப்போரையாவது, விளைந்த பயிரையாவது, வயலிலுள்ள வேறே எதையாவது எரித்துப்போட்டதேயானால், அக்கினியைக் கொளுத்தினவன் அக்கினிச் சேதத்திற்கு உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணவேண்டும்.

6. If fire break out and catch in the thorns, so that the stacks(stoukes) of corn or the standing corn or field be consumed therewith: he that kindled the fire shall make restitution.

7. ஒருவன் பிறனுடைய வசத்தில் திரவியத்தையாவது, உடைமைகளையாவது அடைக்கலமாக வைத்திருக்கும்போது, அது அவன் வீட்டிலிருந்து திருடப்பட்டுப்போனால், திருடன் அகப்பட்டானாகில், அவன் அதற்கு இரட்டிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

7. If a man deliver his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of his house: If the thief be found, he shall pay double.

8. திருடன் அகப்படாதேபோனால், அந்த வீட்டுக்காரன் தானே பிறனுடைய பொருளை அபகரித்தானோ இல்லையோ என்று அறியும்படி நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்தில் அவனைக் கொண்டுபோகவேண்டும்.

8. If the thief be not found, then the goodman of the house shall be brought unto the gods and swear, whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's good.

9. காணாமற்போன மாடு, கழுதை, ஆடு, வஸ்திரம் முதலியவைகளில் யாதொன்றைப் பிறனொருவன் தன்னுடையது என்று சொல்லி குற்றஞ்சாற்றினால், இருதிறத்தாருடைய வழக்கும் நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்தில் வரக்கடவது; நியாயாதிபதிகள் எவனைக் குற்றவாளி என்று தீர்க்கிறார்களோ, அவன் மற்றவனுக்கு இரட்டிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்.

9. And in all manner of trespass, whether it be ox, ass, sheep, raiment or any manner lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the gods. And whom the gods condemn: the same shall pay double unto his neighbour.

10. ஒருவன் தன் கழுதையையாவது மாட்டையாவது ஆட்டையாவது மற்ற யாதொரு மிருகஜீவனையாவது பிறன் வசத்தில் விட்டிருக்கும்போது, அது செத்தாலும், சேதப்பட்டுப்போனாலும், ஒருவரும் காணாதபடி ஓட்டிக்கொண்டு போகப்பட்டாலும்,

10. If a man deliver unto his neighbour to keep, ass, ox, sheep or whatsoever beast it be and it die or be hurt or driven away and no man see it:

11. அவன் தான் பிறனுடைய பொருளை அபகரிக்கவில்லையென்று கர்த்தர் பேரில் இடும் ஆணை அவர்கள் இருவருக்கும் நடுத்தீர்க்கக்கடவது; உடையவன் அதை அங்கிகரிக்கவேண்டும்; மற்றவன் பதிலளிக்கவேண்டுவதில்லை.

11. then shall an oath of the LORD go between them, whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's good, and the owner of it shall take the oath, and the other shall not make it good.

12. அது அவன் வசத்திலிருந்து திருடப்பட்டுப்போயிற்றானால், அவன் அதின் எஜமானுக்கு அதற்காக உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணக்கடவன்.

12. If it be stolen from him, then he shall make restitution unto the owner:

13. அது பீறுண்டுபோயிற்றானால், அதற்குச் சாட்சியை ஒப்புவிக்கவேண்டும். பீறுண்டதற்காக அவன் உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணவேண்டுவதில்லை.

13. If it be torn with wild beasts, then let him bring record of the tearing: and he shall not make it good.

14. ஒருவன் பிறனிடத்தில் எதையாகிலும் இரவலாக வாங்கினதுண்டானால், அதற்கு உடையவன் கூட இராதபோது, அது சேதப்பட்டாலும், செத்துப்போனாலும், அவன் அதற்கு உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணவேண்டும்.

14. When a man borroweth ought of his neighbour if it be hurt or else die, and if the owner thereof be not by, he shall make it good:

15. அதற்கு உடையவன் கூட இருந்தானாகில், அவன் உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணவேண்டுவதில்லை; அது வாடகைக்கு வாங்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், அது அவன் வாடகைக்கு வந்த சேதம்.

15. If the owner thereof be by, he shall not make it good, namely if it be an hired thing and came for hire.

16. நியமிக்கப்படாத ஒரு கன்னிகையை ஒருவன் மோசம்போக்கி அவளோடே சயனித்தால், அவன் அவளுக்காகப் பரிசம்கொடுத்து, அவளை விவாகம்பண்ணக்கடவன்.

16. If a man beguile a maid that is not betrothed and lie with her, he shall endote her and take her to his wife:

17. அவள் தகப்பன் அவளை அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கமாட்டேன் என்றானாகில், கன்னிகைகளுக்காகக் கொடுக்கப்படும் பரிச முறைமையின்படி அவன் பணத்தை நிறுத்துக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

17. If her father refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

18. சூனியக்காரியை உயிரோடே வைக்கவேண்டாம்.

18. Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

19. மிருகத்தோடே புணருகிறவன் எவனும் கொல்லப்படவேண்டும்.

19. Whosoever lieth with a beast, shall be slain for it.

20. கர்த்தர் ஒருவருக்கே ஒழிய வேறே தேவர்களுக்குப் பலியிடுகிறவன் சங்கரிக்கப்படக்கடவன்.

20. He that offereth unto any gods save unto the LORD only, let him die without redemption.

21. அந்நியனைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தாமலும் ஒடுக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நீங்களும் எகிப்து தேசத்தில் அந்நியர்களாயிருந்தீர்களே.

21. Vex not a stranger neither oppress him for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

22. விதவையையும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையையும் ஒடுக்காமல் இருப்பீர்களாக;

22. Ye shall trouble no widow nor fatherless child:

23. அவர்களை எவ்வளவாகிலும் ஒடுக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் என்னை நோக்கி முறையிட்டால், அவர்கள் முறையிடுதலை நான் நிச்சயமாய்க் கேட்டு,

23. If ye shall trouble them: they shall cry unto me, and I will surely hear their cry

24. கோபம்மூண்டவராகி, உங்களைப்பட்டயத்தினால் கொலைசெய்வேன்; உங்கள் மனைவிகள் விதவைகளும், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைகளுமாவார்கள்.

24. and then will my wrath wax hot and I will kill you with sword, and your wives shall be widows and your children fatherless.

25. உங்களுக்குள் சிறுமைப்பட்டிருக்கிற என் ஜனங்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு நீங்கள் பணம் கடனாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தால், வட்டிவாங்குகிறவர்கள்போல அவனிடத்தில் வட்டி வாங்கவேண்டாம்.

25. If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be as an usurer unto him, neither shalt oppress him with usury.

26. பிறனுடைய வஸ்திரத்தை ஈடாக வாங்கினால், பொழுதுபோகுமுன்னமே அதை அவனுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுத்துவிடுவாயாக.

26. If thou take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, see that thou deliver it unto him again by that the son(sonne) go down.

27. அவன் போர்வை அதுதானே, அதுவே அவன் தன் உடம்பை மூடிக்கொள்ளுகிற வஸ்திரம்; வேறு எதினாலே போர்த்துப் படுத்துக்கொள்ளுவான்? அவன் என்னை நோக்கி முறையிடும்போது, நான் அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பேன், நான் இரக்கமுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறேன்.

27. For that is his coverlet only: even the raiment for his skin wherein he sleepeth: or else he will cry unto me and I will hear him, for I am merciful.

28. நியாயாதிபதிகளைத் தூஷியாமலும், உன் ஜனத்தின் அதிபதியைச் சபியாமலும் இருப்பாயாக.
அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 23:5

28. Thou shalt not rail upon the gods, neither curse the ruler of thy people.

29. முதல் முதல் பழுக்கும் உன் பழத்தையும், வடியும் உன் இரசத்தையும் காணிக்கையாகச் செலுத்தத் தாமதிக்கவேண்டாம். உன் குமாரரில் முதற்பேறானவனை எனக்குக் கொடுப்பாயாக.

29. Thy fruits (whether they be dry or moist) see thou keep not back. Thy firstborn son thou shalt give me:

30. உன் மாடுகளிலும் உன் ஆடுகளிலும் அப்படியே செய்வாயாக; குட்டியானது ஏழுநாள் தன் தாயோடே இருக்கட்டும்; எட்டாம் நாளிலே அதை எனக்குச் செலுத்துவாயாக.

30. likewise shalt thou do of thine oxen and of thy sheep. Seven days it shall be with the dam, and the eighth day thou shalt give it me.

31. நீங்கள் எனக்குப் பரிசுத்த மனுஷராயிருக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; வெளியிலே பீறுண்ட மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாமல், அதை நாய்களுக்குப் போட்டுவிடுங்கள்.

31. Ye shall be holy people unto me, and therefore shall ye eat no flesh that is torn of beasts in the field. But shall cast it to dogs.
