1. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

1. Then the LORD spake unto Moses saying:

2. நீங்கள் திரும்பி மிக்தோலுக்கும் சமுத்திரத்துக்கும் நடுவே பாகால்செபோனுக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிற ஈரோத் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்னடியிலே பாளயமிறங்கவேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல்லு; அதற்கு எதிராகச் சமுத்திரக்கரையிலே பாளயமிறங்குவீர்களாக.

2. bid the children of Israel that they turn and pitch their tents before the entering of Hiroth between Migdol and the sea toward Baal Zephon: even before that shall ye pitch upon the sea.

3. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக்குறித்து: அவர்கள் தேசத்திலே திகைத்துத் திரிகிறார்கள்; வனாந்தரம் அவர்களை அடைத்துப்போட்டது என்று சொல்லுவான்.

3. For Pharao will say of the children of Israel: they are tangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

4. ஆகையால், பார்வோன் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடரும்படிக்கு, நான் அவன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை எகிப்தியர் அறியும்படி, பார்வோனாலும் அவனுடைய எல்லா ராணுவத்தாலும் மகிமைப்படுவேன் என்றார்; அவர்கள் அப்படியே செய்தார்கள்.

4. And I will harden his heart, that he shall follow after them, that I may get me honour upon Pharao and upon all his host, that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did even so.

5. ஜனங்கள் ஓடிப்போய்விட்டார்கள் என்று எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, ஜனங்களுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பார்வோனும் அவன் ஊழியக்காரரும் மனம் வேறுபட்டு: நமக்கு வேலை செய்யாதபடிக்கு நாம் இஸ்ரவேலரைப் போகவிட்டது என்ன காரியம் என்றார்கள்.

5. And when it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled, then Pharao's heart and all his servants turned unto the people and said: why have we this done, that we have let Israel go out of our service?

6. அவன் தன் இரதத்தைப் பூட்டி, தன் ஜனங்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு,

6. and he made ready his chariots and took his people with him

7. பிரதானமான அறுநூறு இரதங்களையும், எகிப்திலுள்ள மற்ற சகல இரதங்களையும், அவைகள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் அதிபதிகளான வீரரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போனான்.

7. and took six hundred chosen chariots and all the chariots of Egypt and captains upon all his people.

8. கர்த்தர் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோனின் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தான், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பலத்த கையுடன் புறப்பட்டுப் போனார்கள்.

8. For the LORD hardened the heart of Pharao king of Egypt, that he followed after the children of Israel which for all that went out thorow an high hand.

9. எகிப்தியர் பார்வோனுடைய சகல குதிரைகளோடும் இரதங்களோடும் அவனுடைய குதிரைவீரரோடும் சேனைகளோடும் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், சமுத்திரத்தண்டையிலே பாகால்செபோனுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிற ஈரோத் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்னடியிலே பாளயமிறங்கியிருக்கிற அவர்களைக் கிட்டினார்கள்.

9. And the Egyptians followed after them and overtook them where they pitched by the sea, with all the horsses and chariots of Pharao and with his horsemen and his host: even fast by the entering of Hiroth before Baal Zephon.

10. பார்வோன் சமீபித்து வருகிறபோது, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் தங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்து, எகிப்தியர் தங்களுக்குப் பின்னே வருகிறதைக் கண்டு, மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்.

10. And Pharao drew nigh, and when the children of Israel lift up their eyes and saw how the Egyptians followed after them, they were sore afraid and cried out unto the LORD.

11. அன்றியும் அவர்கள் மோசேயை நோக்கி: எகிப்திலே பிரேதக்குழிகள் இல்லையென்றா வனாந்தரத்திலே சாகும்படிக்கு எங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தீர்? நீர் எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினதினால், எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தது என்ன?

11. Then said they unto Moses: were there no graves for us in Egypt, but thou must bring us away for to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou served us thus, for to carry us out of Egypt?

12. நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே இருக்கும்போது, நாங்கள் எகிப்தியருக்கு வேலை செய்ய எங்களைச் சும்மா விட்டுவிடும் என்று சொன்னோம் அல்லவா? நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே சாகிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் எகிப்தியருக்கு வேலைசெய்கிறது எங்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்குமே என்றார்கள்.

12. Did not we tell thee this in Egypt saying, let us be in rest and serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to have served the Egyptians, than for to die in the wilderness.

13. அப்பொழுது மோசே ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நீங்கள் நின்றுகொண்டு இன்றைக்குக் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யும் இரட்சிப்பைப் பாருங்கள்; இன்றைக்கு நீங்கள் காண்கிற எகிப்தியரை இனி என்றைக்கும் காணமாட்டீர்கள்.

13. And Moses said unto the people: fear ye not but stand still and behold how the LORD shall save you this day: For as ye see the Egyptians this day, shall ye see them no more for ever till the world's end.

14. கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்காக யுத்தம்பண்ணுவார்; நீங்கள் சும்மாயிருப்பீர்கள் என்றான்.

14. The LORD shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.

15. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ என்னிடத்தில் முறையிடுகிறது என்ன? புறப்பட்டுப் போங்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல்லு.

15. The LORD said unto Moses: wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward.

16. நீ உன் கோலை ஓங்கி, உன் கையைச் சமுத்திரத்தின்மேல் நீட்டி, சமுத்திரத்தைப் பிளந்துவிடு; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சமுத்திரத்தின் நடுவாக வெட்டாந்தரையிலே நடந்துபோவார்கள்.

16. But lift thou up thy rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea and divide it asunder, that the children of Israel may go on dry ground thorow the middest thereof.

17. எகிப்தியர் உங்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து வரும்படி நான் அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி பார்வோனாலும் அவன் இரதங்கள் குதிரைவீரர் முதலாகிய அவனுடைய எல்லா இராணுவத்தாலும் மகிமைப்படுவேன்.

17. And behold I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians that they may follow you. And I will get me honour upon Pharao and upon all his host, upon his chariots and upon his horsemen.

18. இப்படி நான் பார்வோனாலும் அவன் இரதங்களாலும் அவன் குதிரைவீரராலும் மகிமைப்படும்போது, நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை எகிப்தியர் அறிவார்கள் என்றார்.

18. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD when I have gotten me honour upon Pharao, upon his chariots and upon his horsemen.

19. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலரின் சேனைக்கு முன்னாக நடந்த தேவதூதனானவர் விலகி, அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாக நடந்தார்; அவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த மேகஸ்தம்பமும் விலகி, அவர்கள் பின்னே நின்றது.

19. And the angel of God which went before the host of Israel, removed and went behind them. And the clouden pillar that was before them removed and stood behind them

20. அது எகிப்தியரின் சேனையும் இஸ்ரவேலரின் சேனையும் இராமுழுவதும் ஒன்றோடொன்று சேராதபடி அவைகள் நடுவில் வந்தது; எகிப்தியருக்கு அது மேகமும் அந்தகாரமுமாய் இருந்தது, இஸ்ரவேலருக்கோ அது இரவை வெளிச்சமாக்கிற்று.

20. and went between the host of the Egyptians and the host of Israel. It was a dark cloud, and gave light by night: so that all the night long the one could not come at the other.

21. மோசே தன் கையைச் சமுத்திரத்தின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இராமுழுவதும் பலத்த கீழ்காற்றினால் சமுத்திரம் ஒதுங்கும்படி செய்து, அதை வறண்டுபோகப்பண்ணினார்; ஜலம் பிளந்து பிரிந்துபோயிற்று.

21. When now Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, the LORD carried away the sea with a strong east wind that blew all night, and made the sea dry land and the water divided itself.

22. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சமுத்திரத்தின் நடுவாக வெட்டாந்தரையிலே நடந்துபோனார்கள்; அவர்கள் வலதுபுறத்திலும் அவர்கள் இடதுபுறத்திலும் ஜலம் அவர்களுக்கு மதிலாக நின்றது.

22. And the children of Israel went in thorow the middest of the sea upon the dry ground. And the water was a wall unto them, both on their right hand and on their left hand.

23. அப்பொழுது எகிப்தியர் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து, பார்வோனுடைய சகல குதிரைகளோடும் இரதங்களோடும் குதிரைவீரரோடும் அவர்கள் பிறகாலே சமுத்திரத்தின் நடுவே பிரவேசித்தார்கள்.

23. And the Egyptians followed and went in after them to the middest of the sea, with all Pharao's horses, and his chariots and his horsemen.

24. கிழக்கு வெளுத்துவரும் ஜாமத்தில் கர்த்தர் அக்கினியும் மேகமுமான ஸ்தம்பத்திலிருந்து எகிப்தியரின் சேனையைப் பார்த்து, அவர்கள் சேனையைக் கலங்கடித்து,

24. And in the morning watch, the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians out of the fiery and cloudy pillar, and troubled their host

25. அவர்களுடைய இரதங்களிலிருந்து உருளைகள் கழலவும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் இரதங்களை வருத்தத்தோடே நடத்தவும் பண்ணினார்; அப்பொழுது எகிப்தியர்: இஸ்ரவேலரைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போவோம், கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்குத் துணைநின்று எகிப்தியருக்கு விரோதமாய் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறார் என்றார்கள்.

25. and smote off their chariot wheels and cast them down to the ground. Then said the Egyptians: Let us flee from Israel, for the LORD fighteth for them against us.

26. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: ஜலம் எகிப்தியர்மேலும் அவர்களுடைய இரதங்கள்மேலும் அவர்களுடைய குதிரைவீரர்மேலும் திரும்பும்படிக்கு, உன் கையைச் சமுத்திரத்தின்மேல் நீட்டு என்றார்.

26. Then said the LORD unto Moses: stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the water may come again upon the Egyptians upon their chariots and horsemen.

27. அப்படியே மோசே தன் கையைச் சமுத்திரத்தின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; விடியற்காலத்தில் சமுத்திரம் பலமாய்த் திரும்பி வந்தது; எகிப்தியர் அதற்கு எதிராக ஓடும்போது, கர்த்தர் அவர்களைக் கடலின் நடுவே கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டார்.

27. Then stretched forth Moses his hand over the sea, and it came again to his course early in the morning, and the Egyptians fled against it. Thus the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the middest of the sea,

28. ஜலம் திரும்பிவந்து, இரதங்களையும் குதிரைவீரரையும், அவர்கள் பின்னாக சமுத்திரத்தில் பிரவேசித்திருந்த பார்வோனுடைய இராணுவம் அனைத்தையும் மூடிக்கொண்டது; அவர்களில் ஒருவனாகிலும் தப்பவில்லை.

28. and the water returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen: so that of all the host of Pharao that came into the sea after them, there remained not one.

29. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோ சமுத்திரத்தின் நடுவாக வெட்டாந்தரையின் வழியாய் நடந்துபோனார்கள்; அவர்கள் வலதுபுறத்திலும் அவர்கள் இடதுபுறத்திலும் ஜலம் அவர்களுக்கு மதிலாக நின்றது.

29. But the children of Israel went upon dry land in the middest of the sea, and the water was a wall unto them: both on the right hand of them and also on the left.

30. இவ்விதமாய்க் கர்த்தர் அந்நாளிலே இஸ்ரவேலரை எகிப்தியரின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்து ரட்சித்தார்; கடற்கரையிலே எகிப்தியர் செத்துக்கிடக்கிறதை இஸ்ரவேலர் கண்டார்கள்.

30. Thus the LORD delivered Israel the self same day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea side.

31. கர்த்தர் எகிப்தியரில் செய்த அந்த மகத்தான கிரியையை இஸ்ரவேலர் கண்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, கர்த்தரிடத்திலும் அவருடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசேயினிடத்திலும் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள்.

31. And when Israel saw that mighty hand which the LORD had shewed upon the Egyptians, they feared the LORD: and believed both the LORD and also his servant Moses.
