1. பின்பு கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ பார்வோனிடத்தில் போ, அவர்கள் நடுவே நான் இந்த என் அடையாளங்களைச் செய்யும்படிக்கும்,

1. Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, for, I, have suffered his heart to be dull and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs, in their midst;

2. நான் எகிப்திலே நடப்பித்ததையும் நான் அவர்களுக்குள் செய்த என் அடையாளங்களையும், நீ உன் பிள்ளைகளின் செவிகள் கேட்கவும், உன் பிள்ளைகளுடைய பிள்ளைகளின் செவிகள் கேட்கவும் விவரித்துச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும், நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை நீங்கள் அறியும்படிக்கும், நான் அவன் இருதயத்தையும் அவன் ஊழியக்காரரின் இருதயத்தையும் கடினப்படுத்தினேன் என்றார்.

2. and that thou mayest recount in the ears of thy son and thy sons' son, what I did in derision of the Egyptians, and my signs which I displayed among them, so shall ye know that I, am Yahweh.

3. அப்படியே மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனிடத்தில் வந்து: உன்னைத் தாழ்த்த நீ எதுவரைக்கும் மனதில்லாதிருப்பாய்? என் சமுகத்தில் எனக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடு.

3. And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him Thus, saith Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, How long hast thou refused to humble thyself before me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

4. நீ என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடமாட்டேன் என்பாயாகில், நான் நாளைக்கு உன் எல்லைகளுக்குள்ளே வெட்டுக்கிளிகளை வரப்பண்ணுவேன்.

4. But if, refusing, thou art to let my people go, behold me bringing in tomorrow a locust within thy bounds;

5. தரை காணாதபடிக்கு அவைகள் பூமியின் முகத்தை மூடி, கல்மழைக்குத் தப்பி மீதியாக வைக்கப்பட்டதைப் பட்சித்து, வெளியிலே துளிர்க்கிற செடிகளையெல்லாம் தின்றுபோடும்.

5. and it shall cover the eye of the land, so that one shall not be able to see the land, and it shall eat the residue that hath escaped, that is left you from the hail, and shall eat up all the trees that sprout for you out of the field;

6. உன் வீடுகளும் உன் ஊழியக்காரருடைய வீடுகளும் எகிப்தியரின் வீடுகளும் எல்லாம் அவைகளால் நிரம்பும்; உன் பிதாக்களும் உன் பிதாக்களின் பிதாக்களும் தாங்கள் பூமியில் தோன்றின நாள்முதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் அப்படிப் பட்டவைகளைக் கண்டதில்லை என்று எபிரெயரின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல்லி, திரும்பிக்கொண்டு பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டான்.

6. and they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants and the houses of all the Egyptians, such as thy fathers and thy fathers' fathers have never seen, from the day they came to be on the ground, until this day. And he turned away, and came out from the presence of Pharaoh.

7. அப்பொழுது பார்வோனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் அவனை நோக்கி: எந்தமட்டும் இந்த மனிதன் நமக்குக் கண்ணியாயிருப்பான்? தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய அந்த மனிதரைப் போகவிடும்; எகிப்து அழிந்துபோனதை நீர் இன்னும் அறியவில்லையா என்றார்கள்.

7. Then said the servants of Pharaoh unto him, How long shall this man become to us a snare? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh their God. Not yet, knowest thou, that Egypt is, ruined?

8. அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனிடத்துக்குத் திரும்ப அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள். அவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் போய் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, யாரார் போகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டான்.

8. So Moses and Aaron were brought back unto pharaoh, and he said unto them Go, serve Yahweh your God, who, are they that are going?

9. அதற்கு மோசே: எங்கள் இளைஞரோடும், எங்கள் முதியோரோடும், எங்கள் குமாரரோடும், எங்கள் குமாரத்திகளோடும், எங்கள் ஆடுகளையும் எங்கள் மாடுகளையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோவோம்; நாங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பண்டிகை கொண்டாடவேண்டும் என்றான்.

9. And Moses said, With our young and with our old, will we go, with our sons and with our daughters with our flocks and with our herds, will we go, for, the festival of Yahweh, is ours.

10. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் உங்களையும் உங்கள் குழந்தைகளையும் எப்படி விடுவேனோ, அப்படியே கர்த்தர் உங்களோடிருப்பாராக; எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள், உங்களுக்குப் பொல்லாப்பு நேரிடும்;

10. Then he said unto them: Let Yahweh, so, be with you, when I let go you and your little ones! Look out for, harm, is straight before your faces.

11. அப்படி வேண்டாம்; புருஷராகிய நீங்கள் போய், கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள்; இதுதானே நீங்கள் விரும்பிக் கேட்டது என்று சொன்னான். அவர்கள் பார்வோன் சமுகத்தினின்று துரத்தி விடப்பட்டார்கள்.

11. Not so! Go, I pray you, ye grown men and serve Yahweh, for, that, is what, ye, were seeking. And they were driven out from the presence of Pharaoh.

12. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் வந்து கல்மழையினால் அழியாத பூமியின் பயிர்வகைகளையெல்லாம் பட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் உன் கையை நீட்டு என்றார்.

12. Then said Yahweh unto Moses Stretch forth thy hand over the land of Egypt for the locust, that it may come up over the land of Egypt, and may eat up every herb of the land, all that the hail hath left.

13. அப்படியே மோசே தன் கோலை எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அன்று பகல் முழுவதும் அன்று இராமுழுவதும் கீழ்காற்றைத் தேசத்தின்மேல் வீசப்பண்ணினார்; விடியற்காலத்திலே கீழ்காற்று வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைக் கொண்டுவந்தது.

13. And Moses stretched forth his staff over the land of Egypt, and, Yahweh, caused an east wind to drive through the land, all that day, and all the night, when the morning, had come, the east wind, had brought the locust.

14. வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பரம்பி, எகிப்தின் எல்லையில் எங்கும் மிகவும் ஏராளமாய் இறங்கிற்று; அப்படிப்பட்ட வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் அதற்குமுன் இருந்ததும் இல்லை, அதற்குப்பின் இருப்பதும் இல்லை.

14. And the locust came up over all the land of Egypt, and settled in all the bounds of Egypt, very grievous, before it, had not been such a locust as that, neither after it, should be one like it.

15. அவைகள் பூமியின் முகம் முழுவதையும் மூடிற்று; தேசம் அவைகளால் அந்தகாரப்பட்டது; கல்மழைக்குத் தப்பியிருந்த நிலத்தின் பயிர்வகைகள் யாவையும் மரங்களின் கனிகள் யாவையும் அவைகள் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது; எகிப்து தேசம் எங்குமுள்ள மரங்களிலும் வயல்வெளியின் பயிர்வகைகளிலும் ஒரு பச்சிலையும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

15. So it covered the eye of all the land and the land was darkened, and it did eat every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees, which the hail had left remaining, so that there was not left remaining any green sprout in the trees or in the herb of the field in all the land of Egypt.

16. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் தீவிரமாய் அழைப்பித்து: உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்தேன்.

16. Then hastened Pharaoh, to call for Moses and for Aaron, and said I have sinned against Yahweh your God, and against you.

17. இந்த ஒரு முறைமாத்திரம் நீ என் பாவத்தை மன்னிக்கவேண்டும்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் இந்தச் சாவைமாத்திரம் என்னைவிட்டு விலக்க அவரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றான்.

17. Now, therefore, forgive I pray you my sin only this time, and make entreaty to Yahweh your God, that he may take away from me, at least, this death.

18. அவன் பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

18. So he came out from Pharaoh, and made entreaty unto Yahweh;

19. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மகா பலத்த மேல்காற்றை வீசும்படி செய்தார்; அது வெட்டுக்கிளிகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய் செங்கடலிலே போட்டது; எகிப்தின் எல்லையில் எங்கும் ஒரு வெட்டுகிளியாகிலும் மீதியாயிருந்ததில்லை.

19. and Yahweh turned back a west wind strong exceedingly, and carried away the locust and cast it into the Red Sea, there was not left a single locust in all the bounds of Egypt.

20. கர்த்தரோ பார்வோனின் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைப் போகவிடவில்லை.

20. But Yahweh suffered the heart of Pharaoh to wax bold, and he did not let the sons of Israel go.

21. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: தடவிக்கொண்டிருக்கத்தக்கதான இருள் எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் உண்டாகும்படிக்கு, உன் கையை வானத்திற்கு நேராக நீட்டு என்றார்.

21. Then said Yahweh unto Moses: Stretch forth thy hand over the heavens, that there may be darkness, over the land of Egypt, and that one may feel the darkness.

22. மோசே தன் கையை வானத்திற்கு நேராக நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் மூன்றுநாள் மட்டும் காரிருள் உண்டாயிற்று.

22. So Moses stretched forth his hand over the heavens, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days;

23. மூன்றுநாள் மட்டும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் காணவும் இல்லை, ஒருவரும் தம்மிடத்தைவிட்டு எழுந்திருக்கவும் இல்லை; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் யாவருக்குமோவெனில் அவர்கள் வாசஸ்தலங்களிலே வெளிச்சம் இருந்தது.

23. they saw not one another neither rose any man from his couch for three days, but all the sons of Israel, had light in their dwellings.

24. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயை அழைப்பித்து; நீங்கள் போய்க் கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள்; உங்கள் ஆடுகளும் உங்கள் மாடுகளும்மாத்திரம் நிறுத்தப்படவேண்டும்; உங்கள் குழந்தைகள் உங்களுடன் போகலாம் என்றான்.

24. Then Pharaoh called out unto Moses and said Go serve Yahweh, only, your flocks and your herds, shall be left, even your little ones shall go with you.

25. அதற்கு மோசே: நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் படைக்கும் பலிகளையும் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் நீர் எங்கள் கையிலே கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

25. And Moses said, Even thou thyself, shalt give into our hands sacrifices and ascending-offerings, so shall we present offerings to Yahweh our God.

26. எங்கள் மிருகஜீவன்களும் எங்களோடேகூட வரவேண்டும்; ஒரு குளம்பும் பின்வைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்கிறதற்கு அவைகளிலிருந்து எடுக்கவேண்டும்; இன்னதைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வோம் என்பது நாங்கள் அங்கே போய்ச் சேருமளவும் எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது என்றான்.

26. Moreover also, our own cattle, shall go with us there shall not be left behind, a hoof, for thereof, must we take, to serve Yahweh our God, even we ourselves, cannot know wherewith we must serve Yahweh, until we have come in thither.

27. கர்த்தர் பார்வோனுடைய இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் அவர்களைப் போகவிட மனதில்லாதிருந்தான்.

27. And Yahweh let the heart of Pharaoh wax bold, and he was not willing to let them go.

28. பார்வோன் அவனை நோக்கி: என்னை விட்டு அப்பாலே போ; நீ இனி என் முகத்தைக் காணாதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு; நீ இனி என் முகத்தைக் காணும் நாளில் சாவாய் என்றான்.

28. So Pharaoh said to him Get thee from me, take heed to thyself do not any more! see my face, for in the day thou dost see my face, thou shalt die.

29. அப்பொழுது மோசே: நீர் சொன்னது சரி; இனி நான் உம்முடைய முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்றான்.

29. And Moses said Well hast thou spoken, no more again to see thy face.
