1. என் ஜனங்களே, என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேளுங்கள்; என் வாயின் வசனங்களுக்கு உங்கள் செவிகளைச் சாயுங்கள்.

1. O my people, hear my teaching. Listen to the words of my mouth.

2. என் வாயை உவமைகளால் திறப்பேன்; பூர்வகாலத்து மறைபொருள்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

2. I will open my mouth in picturestories. I will tell things which have been kept secret from long ago,

3. அவைகளை நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு அறிந்தோம்; எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவைகளை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

3. which we have heard and known because our fathers have told us.

4. பின்வரும் சந்ததியான பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நாங்கள் அவைகளை மறைக்காமல், கர்த்தரின் துதிகளையும் அவருடைய பலத்தையும், அவர் செய்த அவருடைய அதியங்களையும் விவரிப்போம்.

4. We will not hide them from their children. But we will tell the children-to-come the praises of the Lord, and of His power and the great things He has done.

5. அவர் யாக்கோபிலே சாட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தி, இஸ்ரவேலிலே வேதத்தை ஸ்தாபித்து, அவைகளைத் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

5. For He has made His will known to Jacob. He made the Law in Israel, which He told our fathers to teach their children.

6. இனிப் பிறக்கும் பிள்ளைகளாகிய பின்சந்ததியார் அதை அறிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்கள் எழும்பித் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அவைகளைச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும்;

6. So the children-tocome might know, even the children yet to be born. So they may rise up and tell it to their children.

7. தேவன்மேல் அவர்கள் தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தேவனுடைய செயல்களை மறவாமல், அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும்;

7. Then they would put their trust in God and not forget the works of God. And they would keep His Law.

8. இருதயத்தைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்தாமலும், தேவனை உறுதியாய்ப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருந்த முரட்டாட்டமும் கலகமுமுள்ள சந்ததியாகிய தங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒப்பாகாதபடிக்கும், இவைகளைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

8. They would not be like their fathers, right with God. And their spirit was not faithful to God.

9. ஆயுதமணிந்த வில்வீரரான எப்பிராயீம் புத்திரர் யுத்தநாளிலே முதுகு காட்டினார்கள்.

9. The sons of Ephraim were ready with their bows. But they turned away in the day of fighting.

10. அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமலும், அவருடைய கட்டளைகளின்படி நடக்கச் சம்மதியாமலும்,

10. They did not keep the agreement of God. And they would not walk in His Law.

11. அவருடைய செயல்களையும், அவர் தங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்த அதிசயங்களையும் மறந்தார்கள்.

11. They forgot what He had done and His great works that He had shown them.

12. அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு முன்பாக, எகிப்து தேசத்துச் சோவான் வெளியிலே, அவர் அதிசயமானவைகளைச் செய்தார்.

12. He did powerful works in front of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

13. கடலைப் பிளந்து, அவர்களைக் கடக்கப்பண்ணி, ஜலத்தைக் குவியலாக நிற்கும்படிச்செய்தார்.

13. He divided the sea and made them pass through it. He made the water stand up like a wall.

14. பகலிலே மேகத்தினாலும், இராமுழுவதும் அக்கினி வெளிச்சத்தினாலும் அவர்களை வழிநடத்தினார்.

14. He led them with the cloud during the day, and with a light of fire during the night.

15. வனாந்தரத்திலே கன்மலைகளைப் பிளந்து, மகா ஆழங்களிலிருந்து தண்ணீரை அவர்களுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்.

15. He broke the rocks in the place where no people live, and gave them water as if it flowed from the sea.

16. கன்மலையிலிருந்து நீரோட்டங்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, தண்ணீரை நதிபோல ஓடிவரும்படி செய்தார்.

16. He made water come out of the rock. He made the water flow down like rivers.

17. என்றாலும், அவர்கள் பின்னும் அவருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்து, வறண்ட வெளியிலே உன்னதமானவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டினார்கள்.

17. But they still kept on sinning against Him. They did not obey the Most High in the place where no people live.

18. தங்கள் இச்சைக்கேற்ற போஜனத்தைக்கேட்டு, தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் தேவனைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்தார்கள்.

18. They tested God in their hearts by asking for the food they wanted.

19. அவர்கள் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேசி: தேவன் வனாந்தரத்திலே போஜனபந்தியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தக்கூடுமோ?

19. Then they spoke against God, saying, 'Can God set a table in the place where no people live?

20. இதோ அவர் கன்மலையை அடித்ததினால் தண்ணீர் புறப்பட்டு, நதிகளாய்ப் புரண்டுவந்தது; அவர் அப்பத்தையும் கொடுக்கக்கூடுமோ? தம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்கு மாம்சத்தையும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவாரோ? என்றார்கள்.

20. See, He hit the rock and water poured out and rivers flowed over. Can He give bread also? Will He give meat to His people?'

21. ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அதைக் கேட்டுக் கோபங்கொண்டார்; அவர்கள் தேவனை விசுவாசியாமலும், அவருடைய இரட்சிப்பை நம்பாமலும் போனதினால்,

21. The Lord was full of anger when He heard them. And a fire was set against Jacob. His anger went up against Israel,

22. யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமாய் அக்கினி பற்றியெரிந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கோபம் மூண்டது.

22. because they did not believe in God. They did not trust in Him to save them.

23. அவர் உயரத்திலுள்ள மேகங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, வானத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து,

23. Yet He spoke to the clouds above, and opened the doors of heaven.

24. மன்னாவை அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாக வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி, வானத்தின் தானியத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

24. He sent down bread from heaven for them to eat. He gave them food from heaven.

25. தூதர்களின் அப்பத்தை மனுஷன் சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரத்தைப் பூரணமாய் அனுப்பினார்.

25. Men ate the bread of angels. He sent them all the food they could eat.

26. ஆகாசத்திலே கீழ்காற்றை வரப்பண்ணி, தம்முடைய வல்லமையினால் தென்றலையும் வீசச்செய்து,

26. He made the east wind blow in the heavens. And He brought in the south wind by His power.

27. மாம்சத்தைத் தூளத்தனையாயும், சிறகுள்ள பறவைகளைக் கடற்கரை மணலத்தனையாயும் வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

27. He sent meat down on them like dust, winged birds like the sand of the sea.

28. அவைகளை அவர்கள் பாளயத்தின் நடுவிலும், அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இறங்கப்பண்ணினார்.

28. He let them fall in the place where they were staying, all around their tents.

29. அவர்கள் புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் இச்சித்ததை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

29. So they ate until they were full. He gave them what they wanted.

30. அவர்கள் தங்கள் இச்சையை வெறுக்கவில்லை; அவர்களுடைய போஜனம் அவர்கள் வாயில் இருக்கும்போதே.

30. But before they had eaten all they wanted, even while it was still in their mouths,

31. தேவகோபம் அவர்கள்மேல் எழும்பி, அவர்களில் கொழுத்தவர்களைச் சங்கரித்து, இஸ்ரவேலில் விசேஷித்தவர்களை மடியப்பண்ணிற்று.

31. the anger of God came upon them. And He killed the strongest of them. He cut down the young men of Israel.

32. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும், அவர் செய்த அதிசயங்களை அவர்கள் நம்பாமல், பின்னும் பாவஞ்செய்தார்கள்.

32. But still they kept on sinning. They did not believe in His powerful works.

33. ஆதலால் அவர்கள் நாட்களை விருதாவிலும், அவர்கள் வருஷங்களைப் பயங்கரத்திலும் கழியப்பண்ணினார்.

33. So He made their days come to nothing. He made their years end in fear all at once.

34. அவர்களை அவர் கொல்லும்போது அவரைக்குறித்து விசாரித்து, அவர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து தேவனை அதிகாலமே தேடி;

34. When He killed some of them, the others would look for Him. They returned and looked for God.

35. தேவன் தங்கள் கன்மலையென்றும், உன்னதமான தேவன் தங்கள் மீட்பர் என்றும், நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்கள்.

35. They remembered that God was their rock, and that the Most High God was the One Who set them free.

36. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாயினால் அவருக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி, தங்கள் நாவினால் அவரிடத்தில் பொய்சொன்னார்கள்.

36. But they gave Him false honor with their mouth. They lied to Him with their tongue.

37. அவர்கள் இருதயம் அவரிடத்தில் நிலைவரப்படவில்லை; அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையில் அவர்கள் உண்மையாயிருக்கவில்லை.

37. For their heart was not right toward Him. They were not faithful to His agreement.

38. அவரோ அவர்களை அழிக்காமல், இரக்கமுள்ளவராய் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்தார்; அவர் தமது உக்கிரம் முழுவதையும் எழுப்பாமல், அநேகந்தரம் தமது கோபத்தை விலக்கிவிட்டார்.

38. But He showed them loving-kindness and forgave their sins. He did not destroy them. He held back His anger many times. He did not let all of His anger loose.

39. அவர்கள் மாம்சமென்றும், திரும்பிவராமல் அகலுகிற காற்றென்றும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

39. He remembered that they were only flesh, a wind that passes and does not return.

40. எத்தனைதரமோ வனாந்தரத்திலே அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவாந்தர வெளியிலே அவரை விசனப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

40. How many times they went against Him in the place where no people live, and gave Him sorrow in that empty land!

41. அவர்கள் திரும்பி தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தரை மட்டுப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

41. They put God to the test again and again, and troubled the Holy One of Israel.

42. அவருடைய கரத்தையும், அவர் தங்களைச் சத்துருவுக்கு விலக்கி மீட்ட நாளையும் நினையாமற் போனார்கள்.

42. They did not remember His power and the day He saved them from those who hated them,

43. அவர் எகிப்திலே தம்முடைய அடையாளங்களையும், சோவான் வெளியிலே தம்முடைய அற்புதங்களையும் செய்தார்.

43. when He did His powerful works in Egypt and showed His greatness in the field of Zoan.

44. அவர்களுடைய நதிகளை இரத்தமாக மாற்றி, அவர்களுடைய ஆறுகளிலுள்ள ஜலத்தைக் குடிக்கக்கூடாதபடி செய்தார்.
வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 16:4

44. He changed their rivers into blood. They could not drink from their rivers.

45. அவர்களை அழிக்கும்படி வண்டு ஜாதிகளையும், அவர்களைக் கெடுக்கும்படி தவளைகளையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

45. He sent many flies among them that ate them, and frogs that destroyed them.

46. அவர்களுடைய விளைச்சலைப் புழுக்களுக்கும், அவர்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தின் பலனை வெட்டுக்கிளிகளுக்கும் கொடுத்தார்.

46. He gave their fields of food to the grasshopper, and all they worked for to the locust.

47. கல்மழையினால் அவர்களுடைய திராட்சச்செடிகளையும், ஆலாங்கட்டியினால் அவர்களுடைய அத்திமரங்களையும் அழித்து,

47. He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with cold.

48. அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களைக் கல்மழைக்கும், அவர்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகளை இடிகளுக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

48. He killed their cattle with hail and lightning.

49. தமது உக்கிரமான கோபத்தையும், மூர்க்கத்தையும், சினத்தையும், உபத்திரவத்தையும், தீங்குசெய்யும் தூதர்களையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

49. He sent them His burning anger and trouble. He sent a group of angels to bring trouble and sorrow to them.

50. அவர் தம்முடைய கோபத்துக்கு வழிதிறந்து, அவர்கள் ஆத்துமாவை மரணத்துக்கு விலக்கிக் காவாமல், அவர்கள் ஜீவனைக் கொள்ளைநோய்க்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

50. He made a straight path for His anger. He did not save their soul from death. But He gave their lives over to all these troubles.

51. எகிப்திலே தலைச்சன்கள் அனைத்தையும், காமின் கூடாரங்களிலே அவர்களுடைய பெலனில் முதற்பலனான யாவரையும் அழித்து;

51. He killed all the first-born in Egypt, the first children of their strength in the tents of Ham.

52. தம்முடைய ஜனங்களை ஆடுகளைப்போல் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே மந்தையைப்போல் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய்;

52. But He brought His people out like sheep. And He led them like a flock in the place where no people live.

53. அவர்கள் பயப்படாதபடிக்கு அவர்களைப் பத்திரமாய் வழிநடத்தினார்; அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கடல் மூடிப்போட்டது.

53. He led them and kept them safe, so they were not afraid. But the sea covered those who hated them.

54. அவர்களைத் தமது பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் எல்லைவரைக்கும், தமது வலதுகரம் சம்பாதித்த இந்தப் பர்வதமட்டுக்கும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து,

54. He brought them to His holy land, to the hill country His right hand had taken.

55. அவர்கள் முகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, தேசத்தை நூல்போட்டுப் பங்கிட்டு, அவர்களுடைய கூடாரங்களில் இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களைக் குடியேற்றினார்.

55. He drove out the nations before them. He gave them parts of the land for a gift. And He made the families of Israel live in their tents.

56. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் உன்னதமான தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவருடைய சாட்சிகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமற்போய்,

56. But they tempted and went against the Most High God. They did not keep His Law.

57. தங்கள் பிதாக்களைப்போல வழிவிலகி, துரோகம்பண்ணி, மோசம்போக்கும் வில்லைப்போல் துவண்டு,

57. They turned away and acted without faith like their fathers. They were like a bow that cannot be trusted.

58. தங்கள் மேடைகளினால் அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களினால் எரிச்சல் உண்டாக்கினார்கள்.

58. They made Him angry with their sinful places of worship. And they made Him jealous with their false gods.

59. தேவன் அதைக் கேட்டு உக்கிரமாகி, இஸ்ரவேலை மிகவும் வெறுத்து,

59. God was very angry when He heard them, and He hated Israel.

60. தாம் மனுஷருக்குள்ளே போட்ட கூடாரமாகிய சீலோவிலுள்ள வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுவிலகி,

60. He left the holy tent at Shiloh, the tent He had set up among men.

61. தமது பலத்தைச் சிறையிருப்புக்கும், தமது மகிமையைச் சத்துருவின் கைக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து,

61. And He let His strength be taken. He put His greatness into the hands of those who hated Israel.

62. தமது ஜனத்தைப் பட்டயத்துக்கு இரையாக்கி, தமது சுதந்தரத்தின்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டார்.

62. He allowed His people to be killed with the sword. And He was very angry with those who belong to Him.

63. அவர்கள் வாலிபரை அக்கினி பட்சித்தது, அவர்கள் கன்னியாஸ்திரீகள் வாழ்க்கைப்படாதிருந்தார்கள்.

63. Fire burned up their young men. And their young women had no wedding songs.

64. அவர்களுடைய ஆசாரியர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் விழுந்தார்கள், அவர்களுடைய விதவைகள் அழவில்லை.

64. Their religious leaders fell by the sword. And the women who lost their husbands could not cry.

65. அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவர் நித்திரை தெளிந்தவனைப்போலவும், திராட்சரசத்தால் கெம்பீரிக்கிற பராக்கிரமசாலியைப்போலவும் விழித்து,

65. Then the Lord woke up as if from sleep, like a strong man wild with wine.

66. தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களைப் பின்புறமாக அடித்து, அவர்களுக்கு நித்திய நிந்தையை வரப்பண்ணினார்.

66. He beat back those who hated Him. And He put them to shame forever.

67. அவர் யோசேப்பின் கூடாரத்தைப் புறக்கணித்தார்; எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்தை அவர் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல்,

67. He turned away from the tent of Joseph. He did not choose the family of Ephraim,

68. யூதா கோத்திரத்தையும் தமக்குப் பிரியமான சீயோன் பர்வதத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

68. but chose the family of Judah, Mount Zion which He loved.

69. தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை மலைகளைப்போலவும், என்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்படி தாம் அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்தின பூமியைப்போலவும் கட்டினார்.

69. He built His holy place like the high mountains, like the earth He has built forever.

70. தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, ஆட்டுத்தொழுவங்களிலிருந்து அவனை எடுத்தார்.

70. He chose David, His servant and took him from the flocks of sheep.

71. கறவலாடுகளின் பின்னாகத் திரிந்த அவனை, தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய யாக்கோபையும் தம்முடைய சுதந்தரமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலையும் மேய்ப்பதற்காக, அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்.

71. He brought him from caring for the sheep and their lambs to being the shepherd of Jacob His people, and Israel who belongs to Him.

72. இவன் அவர்களைத் தன் இருதயத்தின் உண்மையின்படியே மேய்த்து, தன் கைகளின் திறமையினால் அவர்களை நடத்தினான்.

72. So David was their shepherd with a heart that was right, and led them with good hands and wisdom.
