1. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்; நான் ஒருக்காலும் வெட்கமடையாதபடி செய்யும்; உமது நீதியினிமித்தம் என்னை விடுவியும்.

1. To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. In Thee, O Jehovah, I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed to the age, In Thy righteousness deliver me.

2. உமது செவியை எனக்குச் சாய்த்து, சீக்கிரமாய் என்னைத் தப்புவியும்; நீர் எனக்குப் பலத்த துருகமும், எனக்கு அடைக்கலமான அரணுமாயிரும்.

2. Incline unto me Thine ear hastily, deliver me, Be to me for a strong rock, For a house of bulwarks to save me.

3. என் கன்மலையும் என் கோட்டையும் நீரே; உமது நாமத்தினிமித்தம் எனக்கு வழிகாட்டி, என்னை நடத்தியருளும்.

3. For my rock and my bulwark [art] Thou, For Thy name's sake lead me and tend me.

4. அவர்கள் எனக்கு மறைவாய் வைத்த வலைக்கு என்னை நீங்கலாக்கிவிடும்; தேவரீரே எனக்கு அரண்.

4. Bring me out from the net that they hid for me, For Thou [art] my strength.

5. உமது கையில் என் ஆவியை ஒப்புவிக்கிறேன்; சத்தியபரனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் என்னை மீட்டுக்கொண்டீர்.

5. Into Thy hand I commit my spirit, Thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah God of truth.

6. வீண்மாயைகளைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களை நான் வெறுத்து, கர்த்தரையே நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

6. I have hated the observers of lying vanities, And I toward Jehovah have been confident.

7. உமது, கிருபையிலே களிகூர்ந்து மகிழுவேன்; நீர் என் உபத்திரவத்தைப் பார்த்து, என் ஆத்தும வியாகுலங்களை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்.

7. I rejoice, and am glad in Thy kindness, In that Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast known in adversities my soul.

8. சத்துருவின் கையில் என்னை ஒப்புக்கொடாமல், என் பாதங்களை விசாலத்திலே நிறுத்தினீர்.

8. And Thou hast not shut me up, Into the hand of an enemy, Thou hast caused my feet to stand in a broad place.

9. எனக்கு இரங்கும் கர்த்தாவே, நான் நெருக்கப்படுகிறேன்; துக்கத்தினால் என் கண்ணும் என் ஆத்துமாவும் என் வயிறுங்கூடக் கருகிப்போயிற்று.

9. Favour me, O Jehovah, for distress [is] to me, Mine eye, my soul, and my body Have become old by provocation.

10. என் பிராணன் சஞ்சலத்தினாலும், என் வருஷங்கள் தவிப்பினாலும் கழிந்துபோயிற்று; என் அக்கிரமத்தினாலே என் பெலன் குறைந்து, என் எலும்புகள் உலர்ந்துபோயிற்று.

10. For my life hath been consumed in sorrow And my years in sighing. Feeble because of mine iniquity hath been my strength, And my bones have become old.

11. என் சத்துருக்களாகிய யாவர் நிமித்தமும், நான் என் அயலாருக்கு நிந்தையும், எனக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்களுக்கு அருக்களிப்புமானேன்; வீதியிலே என்னைக் கண்டவர்கள் எனக்கு விலகி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

11. Among all mine adversaries I have been a reproach, And to my neighbours exceedingly, And a fear to mine acquaintances, Those seeing me without -- fled from me.

12. செத்தவனைப்போல எல்லாராலும் முழுவதும் மறக்கப்பட்டேன்; உடைந்த பாத்திரத்தைப்போலானேன்.

12. I have been forgotten as dead out of mind, I have been as a perishing vessel.

13. அநேகர் சொல்லும் அவதூறைக் கேட்டேன்; எனக்கு விரோதமாக அவர்கள் ஏகமாய் ஆலோசனை பண்ணுகிறதினால் திகில் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது; என் பிராணனை வாங்கத்தேடுகிறார்கள்.

13. For I have heard an evil account of many, Fear [is] round about. In their being united against me, To take my life they have devised,

14. நானோ, கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்; நீரே என் தேவன் என்று சொன்னேன்.

14. And I on Thee -- I have trusted, O Jehovah, I have said, 'Thou [art] my God.'

15. என் காலங்கள் உமது கரத்திலிருக்கிறது; என் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும் என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்களின் கைக்கும் என்னைத் தப்புவியும்.

15. In Thy hand [are] my times, Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from my pursuers.

16. நீர் உமது முகத்தை உமது ஊழியக்காரன்மேல் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணி, உமது கிருபையினாலே என்னை இரட்சியும்.

16. Cause Thy face to shine on Thy servant, Save me in Thy kindness.

17. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; நான் வெட்கப்பட்டுப்போகாதபடி செய்யும்; துன்மார்க்கர் வெட்கப்பட்டுப் பாதாளத்தில் மவுனமாயிருக்கட்டும்.

17. O Jehovah, let me not be ashamed, For I have called Thee, let the wicked be ashamed, Let them become silent to Sheol.

18. நீதிமானுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பெருமையோடும் இகழ்ச்சியோடும் கடினமாய்ப் பேசுகிற பொய் உதடுகள் கட்டப்பட்டுப்போவதாக.

18. Let lips of falsehood become dumb, That are speaking against the righteous, Ancient sayings, in pride and contempt.

19. உமக்குப் பயந்தவர்களுக்கும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு முன்பாக உம்மை நம்புகிறவர்களுக்கும், நீர் உண்டு பண்ணிவைத்திருக்கிற உம்முடைய நன்மை எவ்வளவு பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது!

19. How abundant is Thy goodness, That Thou hast laid up for those fearing Thee,

20. மனுஷருடைய அகங்காரத்துக்கு அவர்களை உமது சமுகத்தின் மறைவிலே மறைத்து, நாவுகளின் சண்டைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி, உமது கூடாரத்திலே ஒளித்துவைத்துக் காப்பாற்றுகிறீர்.

20. Thou hast wrought for those trusting in Thee, Before sons of men. Thou hidest them in the secret place of Thy presence, From artifices of man, Thou concealest them in a tabernacle, From the strife of tongues.

21. கர்த்தர் அரணான நகரத்தில் எனக்குத் தமது கிருபையை அதிசயமாய் விளங்கப்பண்ணினபடியால், அவருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

21. Blessed [is] Jehovah, For He hath made marvellous His kindness To me in a city of bulwarks.

22. உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக இராதபடிக்கு வெட்டுண்டேன் என்று நான் என் மனக்கலக்கத்திலே சொன்னேன்; ஆனாலும் நான் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டபோது, என் விண்ணப்பங்களின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டீர்.

22. And I -- I have said in my haste, 'I have been cut off from before Thine eyes,' But Thou hast heard the voice of my supplications, In my crying unto Thee.

23. கர்த்தருடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களே, நீங்களெல்லாரும் அவரில் அன்பு கூருங்கள்; உண்மையானவனைக் கர்த்தர் தற்காத்து, இடும்பு செய்கிறவனுக்குப் பூரணமாய்ப் பதிலளிப்பார்.

23. Love Jehovah, all ye His saints, Jehovah is keeping the faithful, And recompensing abundantly a proud doer.

24. கர்த்தருக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்களே, நீங்களெல்லாரும் திடமனதாயிருங்கள், அவர் உங்கள் இருதயத்தை ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவார்.

24. Be strong, and He strengtheneth your heart, All ye who are waiting for Jehovah!
