1. இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலும், யாக்கோபின் குடும்பம் அந்நிய பாஷைக்காரரான ஜனத்திலுமிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது,

1. When Israel came out of Egypt, and the house of Jacob from among that strange people.

2. யூதா அவருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தானமும், இஸ்ரவேல் அவருக்கு இராஜ்யமுமாயிற்று.

2. Judah was his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3. கடல் கண்டு விலகி ஓடிற்று; யோர்தான் பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பினது.

3. The sea saw that, and fled, Jordan turned back.

4. மலைகள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும், குன்றுகள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளினது.

4. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like young sheep.

5. கடலே, நீ விலகியோடுகிறதற்கும்; யோர்தானே, நீ பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்புகிறதற்கும்;

5. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? and thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?

6. மலைகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும்; குன்றுகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளுகிறதற்கும், உங்களுக்கு என்ன வந்தது?

6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams: and ye little hills, like young sheep?

7. பூமியே, நீ ஆண்டவருக்கு முன்பாகவும், யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அதிரு.

7. The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord,(LORDE) at the presence of the God of Jacob.

8. அவர் கன்மலையைத் தண்ணீர்த் தடாகமாகவும், கற்பாறையை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றுகிறார்.

8. Which turned the hard rock into a standing water, and the flint stone into a springing well.
