1. என் ஆத்துமாவே, கர்த்தரை ஸ்தோத்திரி; என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் மிகவும் பெரியவராயிருக்கிறீர்; மகிமையையும் மகத்துவத்தையும் அணிந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறீர்.

1. Give praise to the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you are robed with honour and power.

2. ஒளியை வஸ்திரமாகத் தரித்து, வானங்களைத் திரையைப்போல் விரித்திருக்கிறீர்.

2. You are clothed with light as with a robe; stretching out the heavens like a curtain:

3. தமது மேல்வீடுகளைத் தண்ணீர்களால் மச்சுப்பாவி, மேகங்களைத் தமது இரதமாக்கி, காற்றினுடைய செட்டைகளின்மேல் செல்லுகிறார்.

3. The arch of your house is based on the waters; you make the clouds your carriage; you go on the wings of the wind:

4. தம்முடைய தூதர்களைக் காற்றுகளாகவும், தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரை அக்கினி ஜூவாலைகளாகவும் செய்கிறார்.

4. He makes winds his angels, and flames of fire his servants.

5. பூமி ஒருபோதும் நிலைபேராதபடி அதின் ஆதாரங்கள்மேல் அதை ஸ்தாபித்தார்.

5. He has made the earth strong on its bases, so that it may not be moved for ever and ever;

6. அதை வஸ்திரத்தினால் மூடுவதுபோல ஆழத்தினால் மூடினீர்; பர்வதங்களின்மேல் தண்ணீர்கள் நின்றது.

6. Covering it with the sea as with a robe: the waters were high over the mountains;

7. அவைகள் உமது கண்டிதத்தால் விலகியோடி, உமது குமுறலின் சத்தத்தால் விரைந்துபோயிற்று.

7. At the voice of your word they went in flight; at the sound of your thunder they went away in fear;

8. அவைகள் மலைகளில் ஏறி, பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இறங்கி, நீர் அவைகளுக்கு ஏற்படுத்தின இடத்தில் சென்றது.

8. The mountains came up and the valleys went down into the place which you had made ready for them.

9. அவைகள் திரும்பவும் வந்து பூமியை மூடிக்கொள்ளாதபடி கடவாதிருக்கும் எல்லையை அவைகளுக்கு ஏற்படுத்தினீர்.

9. You made a limit over which they might not go, so that the earth would never again be covered by them.

10. அவர் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் நீரூற்றுகளை வரவிடுகிறார்; அவைகள் மலைகள் நடுவே ஓடுகிறது.

10. You sent the springs into the valleys; they are flowing between the hills.

11. அவைகள் வெளியின் ஜீவன்களுக்கெல்லாம் தண்ணீர் கொடுக்கும்; அங்கே காட்டுக்கழுதைகள் தங்கள் தாகத்தைத் தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளும்.

11. They give drink to every beast of the field; the mountain asses come to them for water.

12. அவைகளின் ஓரமாய் ஆகாயத்துப்பறவைகள் சஞ்சரித்து, கிளைகள் மேலிருந்து பாடும்.

12. The birds of the air have their resting-places by them, and make their song among the branches.

13. தம்முடைய மேல்வீடுகளிலிருந்து பர்வதங்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் இறைக்கிறார்; உமது கிரியைகளின் பலனாலே பூமி திருப்தியாயிருக்கிறது.

13. He sends down rain from his store-houses on the hills: the earth is full of the fruit of his works.

14. பூமியிலிருந்து ஆகாரம் உண்டாகும்படி, அவர் மிருகங்களுக்குப் புல்லையும், மனுஷருக்கு உபயோகமான பயிர்வகைகளையும் முளைப்பிக்கிறார்.

14. He makes the grass come up for the cattle, and plants for the use of man; so that bread may come out of the earth;

15. மனுஷனுடைய இருதயத்தை மகிழ்ச்சியாக்கும் திராட்சரசத்தையும், அவனுக்கு முகக்களையை உண்டுபண்ணும் எண்ணெயையும், மனுஷனுடைய இருதயத்தை ஆதரிக்கும் ஆகாரத்தையும் விளைவிக்கிறார்.

15. And wine to make glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face shining, and bread giving strength to his heart.

16. கர்த்தருடைய விருட்சங்களும், அவர் நாட்டின லீபனோனின் கேதுருக்களும் சாரத்தினால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

16. The trees of the Lord are full of growth, the cedars of Lebanon of his planting;

17. அங்கே குருவிகள் கூடுகட்டும்; தேவதாருவிருட்சங்கள் கொக்குகளின் குடியிருப்பு.

17. Where the birds have their resting-places; as for the stork, the tall trees are her house.

18. உயர்ந்த பர்வதங்கள் வரையாடுகளுக்கும், கன்மலைகள் குழிமுசல்களுக்கும் அடைக்கலம்.

18. The high hills are a safe place for the mountain goats, and the rocks for the small beasts.

19. சந்திரனைக் காலக்குறிப்புகளுக்காகப் படைத்தார்; சூரியன் தன் அஸ்தமனத்தை அறியும்.

19. He made the moon for a sign of the divisions of the year; teaching the sun the time of its going down.

20. நீர் இருளைக் கட்டளையிடுகிறீர், இராக்காலமாகும்; அதிலே சகல காட்டு ஜீவன்களும் நடமாடும்.

20. When you make it dark, it is night, when all the beasts of the woods come quietly out of their secret places.

21. பாலசிங்கங்கள் இரைக்காக கெர்ச்சித்து, தேவனால் தங்களுக்கு ஆகாரம் கிடைக்கும்படித்தேடும்.

21. The young lions go thundering after their food; searching for their meat from God.

22. சூரியன் உதிக்கையில் அவைகள் ஒதுங்கி, தங்கள் தாபரங்களில் படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

22. The sun comes up, and they come together, and go back to their secret places to take their rest.

23. அப்பொழுது மனுஷன் சாயங்காலமட்டும் தன் வேலைக்கும், தன் பண்ணைக்கும் புறப்படுகிறான்.

23. Man goes out to his work, and to his business, till the evening.

24. கர்த்தாவே, உமது கிரியைகள் எவ்வளவு திரளாயிருக்கிறது! அவைகளையெல்லாம் ஞானமாய்ப் படைத்தீர்; பூமி உம்முடைய பொருள்களினால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.

24. O Lord, how great is the number of your works! in wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of the things you have made.

25. பெரிதும் விஸ்தாரமுமான இந்தச் சமுத்திரமும் அப்படியே நிறைந்திருக்கிறது; அதிலே சஞ்சரிக்கும் சிறியவைகளும் பெரியவைகளுமான எண்ணிறந்த ஜீவன்கள் உண்டு.

25. There is the great, wide sea, where there are living things, great and small, more than may be numbered.

26. அதிலே கப்பல்கள் ஓடும்; அதிலே விளையாடும்படி நீர் உண்டாக்கின திமிங்கிலங்களும் உண்டு.

26. There go the ships; there is that great beast, which you have made as a plaything.

27. ஏற்றவேளையில் ஆகாரத்தைத் தருவீர் என்று அவைகளெல்லாம் உம்மை நோக்கிக் காத்திருக்கும்.

27. All of them are waiting for you, to give them their food in its time.

28. நீர்கொடுக்க, அவைகள் வாங்கிக்கொள்ளும்; நீர் உம்முடைய கையைத் திறக்க, அவைகள் நன்மையால் திருப்தியாகும்.

28. They take what you give them; they are full of the good things which come from your open hand.

29. நீர் உமது முகத்தை மறைக்க, திகைக்கும்; நீர் அவைகளின் சுவாசத்தை வாங்கிக்கொள்ள, அவைகள் மாண்டு, தங்கள் மண்ணுக்குத் திரும்பும்.

29. If your face is veiled, they are troubled; when you take away their breath, they come to an end, and go back to the dust.

30. நீர் உம்முடைய ஆவியை அனுப்பும்போது, அவைகள் சிருஷ்டிக்கப்படும்; நீர் பூமியின் ரூபத்தையும் புதிதாக்குகிறீர்.

30. If you send out your spirit, they are given life; you make new the face of the earth.

31. கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை என்றென்றைக்கும் விளங்கும்; கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய கிரியைகளிலே மகிழுவார்.

31. Let the glory of the Lord be for ever; let the Lord have joy in his works:

32. அவர் பூமியை நோக்கிப்பார்க்க, அது அதிரும்; அவர் பர்வதங்களைத் தொட, அவைகள் புகையும்.

32. At whose look the earth is shaking; at whose touch the mountains send out smoke.

33. நான் உயிரோடிருக்குமட்டும் என் கர்த்தரைப் பாடுவேன்; நான் உள்ளளவும் என் தேவனைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுவேன்.

33. I will make songs to the Lord all my life; I will make melody to my God while I have my being.

34. நான் அவரைத் தியானிக்கும் தியானம் இனிதாயிருக்கும்; நான் கர்த்தருக்குள் மகிழுவேன்.

34. Let my thoughts be sweet to him: I will be glad in the Lord.

35. பாவிகள் பூமியிலிருந்து நிர்மூலமாகி, துன்மார்க்கர் இனி இராமற்போவார்கள். என் ஆத்துமாவே, கர்த்தரை ஸ்தோத்திரி, அல்லேலூயா.

35. Let sinners be cut off from the earth, and let all evil-doers come to an end. Give praise to the Lord, O my soul. Give praise to the Lord.
