1. Eliu proceeded forth in his talking and said:

2. நான் பேசிமுடியுமட்டும் சற்றேபொறும்; இன்னும் தேவன் பட்சத்தில் நான் சொல்லவேண்டிய நியாயங்களை உமக்குச் சொல்லிக்காண்பிப்பேன்.

2. Hold thee still a little, and I shall shew thee, what I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

3. நான் தூரத்திலிருந்து என் ஞானத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்து, என்னை உண்டாக்கினவருடைய நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணுவேன்.

3. I will open unto thee yet more of mine understanding, and prove my maker righteousness.

4. மெய்யாகவே என் வார்த்தைகள் பொய்யற்றிருக்கும்; உம்மோடே பேசுகிறவன் அறிவில் தேறினவன்.

4. True are my words, and no lie: and the knowledge wherewithall I argue against thee, is perfect.

5. இதோ, தேவன் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர், அவர் ஒருவரையும் புறக்கணியார்; மன உருக்கத்திலும் அவர் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர்.

5. Behold, God casteth not away the mighty, for he himself is mighty in power and wisdom.

6. அவர் துன்மார்க்கரைப் பிழைக்க ஒட்டாதிருக்கிறார்; சிறுமையானவர்களின் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்கிறார்.

6. As for the ungodly, he preserveth them not, but helpeth the poor to their right.

7. அவர் தம்முடைய கண்களை நீதிமான்களைவிட்டு விலக்காமல், அவர்களை ராஜாக்களோடே கூட சிங்காசனத்தில் ஏறவும், உயர்ந்த ஸ்தலத்தில் என்றைக்கும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கவும் செய்கிறார்.

7. He turneth not his eyes away from the righteous, he setteth up kings in their throne, and confirmeth them, so that they alway sit therein.

8. அவர்கள் விலங்குகள் போடப்பட்டு, உபத்திரவத்தின் கயிறுகளால் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தாலும்,

8. But if they be laid in prison and chains, or bound with the bonds of poverty:

9. அவர், அவர்கள் கிரியையையும், மிஞ்சிப்போன அவர்களுடைய மீறுதல்களையும் அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தி,

9. then sheweth he them their works and deeds and the sins where with they have used cruel violence.

10. அக்கிரமத்தை விட்டுத் திரும்பும்படி அவர்கள் செவியைத் திறந்து கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறார்.

10. He with punishing and nurturing of them, roundeth(rowneth) them in the ears, warneth them to leave off from their wickedness, and to amend.

11. அவர்கள் அடங்கி அவரைச் சேவித்தால், தங்கள் நாட்களை நன்மையாகவும், தங்கள் வருஷங்களைச் செல்வவாழ்வாகவும் போக்குவார்கள்.

11. If they now will take heed and be obedient, they shall wear out their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasure and joy.

12. அடங்கார்களேயாகில் பட்டயத்துக்கு இரையாகி, ஞானம் அடையாமல் மாண்டுபோவார்கள்.

12. But if they will not obey, they shall go thorow the sword, and perish or ever they be aware.(awarre)

13. மாயமுள்ள இருதயத்தார் குரோதத்தைக் குவித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களை அவர் கட்டிவைக்கும்போது கெஞ்சிக் கூப்பிடுவார்கள்.

13. As for such as be fained, dissemblers and hypocrites, they heap up wrath for themselves: for they call not upon him, though they be his prisoners.

14. அவர்கள் வாலவயதிலே மாண்டுபோவார்கள்; இலச்சையானவர்களுக்குள்ளே அவர்கள் பிராணன் முடியும்.

14. Thus their soul perisheth in foolishness, and their life with the condemned.

15. சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களை அவர் சிறுமைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி, அவர்கள் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கையில் அவர்கள் செவியைத் திறக்கிறார்.

15. The poor delivereth he out of his straitness, and comforteth such as be in necessity and trouble.

16. அப்படியே அவர் உம்மையும் நெருக்கத்தினின்று விலக்கி, ஒடுக்கமில்லாத விசாலத்திலே வைப்பார்; உம்முடைய போஜனபந்தி கொழுமையான பதார்த்தங்களால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

16. Even so shall he keep thee (if thou wilt be content) from the bottomless pit that is beneath: and if thou wilt hold the quiet, he shall fill thy table with plenteousness.

17. ஆகாதவன்மேல் வரும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நிறைவேறப் பார்ப்பீர்; நியாயமும் நீதியும் உம்மை ஆதரிக்கும்.

17. Nevertheless thou hast condemned the judgement of the ungodly, yea even such a judgment and sentence shalt thou suffer.

18. உக்கிரமுண்டாயிருக்கிறதினால் அவர் உம்மை ஒரு அடியினால் வாரிக்கொண்டுபோகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரும்; அப்பொழுது மீட்கும் பொருளை மிகுதியாய்க் கொடுத்தாலும் அதற்கு நீர் நீங்கலாகமாட்டீர்.

18. For then shall not thy cause be stilled with cruelty, nor pacified with many gifts.

19. உம்முடைய செல்வத்தை அவர் மதிப்பாரோ? உம்முடைய பொன்னையும், பூரண பராக்கிரமத்தையும் அவர் மதிக்கமாட்டாரே.

19. Hath God ordained(ordened) then, that the glorious life of thee, and all such mighty men should not be put down?

20. ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் இடத்தைவிட்டு வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படப்போகிற இரவை வாஞ்சிக்காதிரும்.

20. Prolong not thou the time, till there come a night for thee, to set other people in thy stead.

21. அக்கிரமத்துக்குத் திரும்பாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரும்; உபத்திரவத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அக்கிரமத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டீரே.

21. But beware that thou turn not aside to wickedness and sin, which hither to thou hast chosen more than meekness.

22. இதோ, தேவன் தம்முடைய வல்லமையில் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறார்; அவரைப் போல் போதிக்கிறவர் யார்?

22. Behold, God is of a mighty high power: Where is there such a guide and law giver as he?

23. அவருடைய வழியின் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்கத்தக்கவன் யார்? நீர் அநியாயம் செய்தீர் என்று சொல்லத்தக்கவன் யார்?

23. Who will reprove him of his way? Who will say unto him: thou hast done wrong?

24. மனுஷர் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கிற அவருடைய கிரியையை நீர் மகிமைப்படுத்த நினையும்.

24. O consider how great and excellent his works be, whom all men love and praise:

25. எல்லா மனுஷரும் அதைக் காண்கிறார்களே; தூரத்திலிருந்து அது மனுஷருக்கு வெளிப்படுகிறது.

25. yea(yee) wonder at him, and yet they see him but afar off.

26. இதோ, தேவன் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர்; நாம் அவரை அறிய முடியாது; அவருடைய வருஷங்களின் இலக்கம் ஆராய்ந்து முடியாதது.

26. Behold, so great is God, that he passeth our knowledge, neither are we able to come to the experience of his years.

27. அவர் நீர்த்துளிகளை அணுவைப்போல ஏறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவைகள் மேகத்திலிருந்து மழையாய்ச் சொரிகிறது.

27. He turneth the water to small drops, he driveth his clouds

28. அதை மேகங்கள் பெய்து, மனுஷர்மேல் மிகுதியாய்ப் பொழிகிறது.

28. together for to rain, so that they pour down and drop upon men.

29. மேகங்களின் பரவுதலையும், அவருடைய கூடாரத்திலிருந்து எழும்பும் குமுறல்களையும் அறியமுடியுமோ?

29. He can spread out the clouds (a covering of his tabernacle)

30. இதோ, அதின்மேல் தம்முடைய மின்னலின் ஒளியை விரிக்கிறார்; சமுத்திரத்தின் ஆழங்களையும் மூடுகிறார்.

30. and cause his light to shine upon them, and to cover the bottom of the sea.

31. அவைகளால் ஜனங்களை தண்டிக்கிறவரும், ஆகாரங்கொடுத்து இரட்சிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்.

31. By these things governeth he his people, and giveth them abundance of meat.

32. அவர் மின்னலின் ஒளியைத் தமது கைக்குள்ளே மூடி, அது இன்னின்னதை அடிக்கவேண்டுமென்று கட்டளையிடுகிறார்.

32. In the turning of a hand he hideth the light, and at his commandment it cometh again.

33. அதினால், அவர் செய்ய நினைக்கிறதையும், மந்தாரம் எழும்பப்போகிறதையும், ஆடுமாடுகள் அறியப்படுத்தும்.

33. The rising up thereof sheweth he to his friends and to the cattle.
