1. பின்னும் எலிகூ மாறுத்தரமாக:

1. And Elihu continued, and said,

2. ஞானிகளே, என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்; அறிவாளிகளே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

2. Hear me, you wise men; hear me, you that have knowledge.

3. வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கும்.

3. For the ear tries words, and the mouth tastes meat.

4. நமக்காக நியாயமானதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வோமாக; நன்மை இன்னதென்று நமக்குள்ளே அறிந்துகொள்வோமாக.

4. Let us choose judgment to ourselves: let us know among ourselves what is right.

5. யோபு: நான் நீதிமான்; தேவன் என் நியாயத்தைத் தள்ளிவிட்டார் என்றும்,

5. For Job has said, I am righteous: the Lord has removed my judgment.

6. நியாயம் என்னிடத்தில் இருந்தும் நான் பொய்யனென்று எண்ணப்படுகிறேன்; மீறுதல் இல்லாதிருந்தும், அம்பினால் எனக்கு உண்டான காயம் ஆறாததாயிருக்கிறதென்றும் சொன்னாரே.

6. And He has erred in my judgment: my wound is severe without unrighteousness of mine.

7. யோபைப்போலவே, பரியாசம்பண்ணுதலைத் தண்ணீரைப்போல் குடித்து,

7. What man is like Job, drinking scorning like water?

8. அக்கிரமக்காரரோடே கூடிக்கொண்டு, துன்மார்க்கரோடே திரிகிறவன் யார்?

8. [Saying], I have not sinned, nor committed ungodliness, nor had fellowship with workers of iniquity, to go with the ungodly.

9. எப்பயடியெனில், தேவன்மேல் பிரியம் வைக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்குப் பிரயோஜனம் அல்ல என்றாரே.

9. For you should not say, There shall be no visitation of a man, whereas [there is] a visitation on him from the Lord.

10. ஆகையால் புத்திமான்களே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; அக்கிரமம் தேவனுக்கும், அநீதி சர்வவல்லவருக்கும் தூரமாயிருக்கிறது.

10. Therefore listen to me, you that are wise in heart: far be it from me to sin before the Lord, and to pervert righteousness before the Almighty.

11. மனுஷனுடைய செய்கைக்குத்தக்கதை அவனுக்குச் சரிக்கட்டி, அவனவன் நடக்கைக்குத்தக்கதாக அவனவனுக்குப் பலனளிக்கிறார்.

11. Yea, He renders to a man accordingly as each of them does, and in a man's path He will find him.

12. தேவன் அநியாயஞ் செய்யாமலும், சர்வவல்லவர் நீதியைப் புரட்டாமலும் இருக்கிறது மெய்யே.

12. And do you think that the Lord will do wrong, or will the Almighty who made the earth pervert judgment?

13. பூமியின்மேல் மனுஷனுக்கு அதிகாரம் கொடுத்தவர் யார்? பூச்சக்கரம் முழுதையும் ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தினவர் யார்?

13. And who is He that made [the whole world] under heaven, and all things therein?

14. அவர் தம்முடைய இருதயத்தை அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்பினாராகில், அவனுடைய ஆவியையும் அவனுடைய சுவாசத்தையும் தம்மிடத்தில் இழுத்துக்கொள்ளுவார்.

14. For if He would confine, and restrain His Spirit with Himself;

15. அப்படியே மாம்சமான யாவும் ஏகமாய் ஜீவித்துப்போம், மனுஷன் தூளுக்குத் திரும்புவான்.

15. all flesh would die together, and every mortal would return to the earth, from where he was formed.

16. உமக்கு உணர்விருந்தால் இதைக் கேளும், என் வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடும்.

16. Take heed lest He rebuke you: hear this, listen to the voice of words.

17. நீதியைப் பகைக்கிற ஒருவன் ஆளக்கூடுமோ? மகா நீதிபரரைக் குற்றப்படுத்துவீரோ?

17. Behold then the One that hates iniquities, and that destroys the wicked, who is forever just.

18. ஒரு ராஜைவைப் பார்த்து, நீ பொல்லாதவன் என்றும், அதிபதிகளைப் பார்த்து, நீங்கள் அக்கிரமக்காரர் என்றும் சொல்லத்தகுமோ?

18. He is ungodly that says to a king, You are a transgressor, [that says] to princes, O most ungodly one.

19. இப்படியிருக்க, பிரபுக்களின் முகத்தைப்பாராமலும், ஏழையைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஐசுவரியவானை அதிகமாய் எண்ணாமலும் இருக்கிறவரை நோக்கி இப்படிச் சொல்லலாமா? இவர்கள் எல்லாரும் அவர் கரங்களின் கிரியையே.

19. [Such a one] as would not reverence the face of an honorable man, neither knows how to give honor to the great, so as that their persons should be respected.

20. இப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சடிதியில் சாவார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் பாதிஜாமத்தில் கலங்கி ஒழிந்துபோவார்கள்; காணாத கையினால் பலவந்தர் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்.

20. But it shall turn out [as] vanity to them, to cry and beseech a man; for they dealt unlawfully, the poor being turned aside [from their right].

21. அவருடைய கண்கள் மனுஷருடைய வழிகளை நோக்கியிருக்கிறது; அவர்களுடைய நடைகளையெல்லாம் அவர் பார்க்கிறார்.

21. For He surveys the works of men, and nothing of what they do has escaped Him.

22. அக்கிரமக்காரர் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ளத்தக்க அந்தகாரமுமில்லை, மரணஇருளுமில்லை.

22. Neither shall there be a place for the workers of iniquity to hide themselves.

23. மனுஷன் தேவனோடே வழக்காடும்படி அவர் அவன்மேல் மிஞ்சினதொன்றையும் சுமத்தமாட்டார்.

23. For He will not lay upon a man more [than right].

24. ஆராய்ந்து முடியாத நியாயமாய் அவர் வல்லமையுள்ளவர்களை நொறுக்கி, வேறே மனுஷரை அவர்கள் ஸ்தானத்திலே நிறுத்துகிறார்.

24. For the Lord looks down upon all men, who comprehends unsearchable things, glorious also and excellent things without number.

25. அவர்கள் கிரியைகளை அவர் அறிந்தவரானபடியால், அவர்கள் நசுங்கிப்போகத்தக்கதாய் இராக்காலத்தில் அவர்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

25. Who discovers their works, and will bring night about upon them, and they shall be brought low.

26. அவர்கள் அவரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி அவருடைய எல்லா வழிகளையும் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளாமல் போனபடியினாலும்,

26. And He destroys the ungodly, for they are seen before Him.

27. எளியவர்களின் கூக்குரல் அவரிடத்தில் சேரும்படி செய்ததினாலும், சிறுமையானவனுடைய கூக்குரலைக் கேட்கிற அவர்,

27. Because they turned aside from the law of God, and did not regard His ordinances,

28. எல்லாரும் பார்க்கும்படி அவர்களைத் துன்மார்க்கரென்று அடிக்கிறார்.

28. so as to bring before Him the cry of the needy; for He will hear the cry of the poor.

29. மாயக்காரன் ஆளாதபடிக்கும், ஜனங்கள் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளப்படாதபடிக்கும்,

29. And He will give quiet, and who will condemn? And He will hide His face, and who shall see Him? Whether it be done against a nation, or against a man, also:

30. ஒரு ஜனத்துக்கானாலும் ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கானாலும், அவர் சமாதானத்தை அருளினால் யார் கலங்கப்பண்ணுவான்? அவர் தமது முகத்தை மறைத்தால் அவரைக் காண்கிறவன் யார்?

30. causing a hypocrite to be king, because of the waywardness of the people.

31. நான் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டேன்; நான் இனிப் பாவஞ்செய்யமாட்டேன்.

31. For there is one that says to the Mighty One, I have received [blessings]; I will not take a pledge:

32. நான் காணாத காரியத்தை நீர் எனக்குப் போதியும், நான் அநியாயம்பண்ணினேனானால், நான் இனி அப்படிச் செய்வதில்லை என்று தேவனை நோக்கிச் சொல்லத்தகுமே.

32. I will see apart from myself- show me if I have done unrighteousness; I will not do so anymore.

33. நீர் அப்படிச் செய்யமாட்டோமென்கிறபடியினால், உம்மோடிருக்கிறவர்களில் ஒருவனை உமக்குப் பதிலாக அதைச் செய்யச்சொல்வீரோ? நான் அல்ல, நீரே தெரிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும்; அல்லவென்றால், நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறதைச் சொல்லும்.

33. Will He take vengeance for it on you, whereas you will put it far [from you]? For you shall choose, and not I; and whatever you know, speak thus.

34. யோபு அறிவில்லாமல் பேசினார்; அவர் வார்த்தைகள் ஞானமுள்ளவைகள் அல்லவென்று,

34. Because the wise in heart shall say this, and a wise man listens to my word.

35. புத்தியுள்ள மனுஷர் என் பட்சமாய்ப் பேசுவார்கள்; ஞானமுள்ள மனுஷனும் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பான்.

35. But Job has not spoken with understanding, his words are not [uttered] with knowledge.

36. அக்கிரமக்காரர் சொன்ன மறுஉத்தரவுகளினிமித்தம் யோபு முற்றமுடிய சோதிக்கப்படவேண்டியதே என் அபேட்சை.

36. Howbeit do you learn, Job: no longer giving answers as the foolish:

37. தம்முடைய பாவத்தோடே மீறுதலைக் கூட்டினார்; அவர் எங்களுக்குள்ளே கைகொட்டி, தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளை மிகுதியாக வசனித்தார் என்றான்.

37. that we add not to our sins: for iniquity will be reckoned against us, if we speak many words before the Lord.
