1. சீரிய ராஜாவின் படைத்தலைவனாகிய நாகமான் என்பவன் தன் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் பெரிய மனுஷனும் எண்ணிக்கையுள்ளவனுமாயிருந்தான்; அவனைக் கொண்டு கர்த்தர் சீரியாவுக்கு இரட்சிப்பைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்; மகா பராக்கிரமசாலியாகிய அவனோ குஷ்டரோகியாயிருந்தான்.
லூக்கா 4:27

1. Naaman captayne of the hoast of the king of Syria, was a great man, and honorable in the sight of his maister, because that by him the Lorde had geuen health vnto Syria: He was also a mightie man, & expert in warre [but he was] a leaper.

2. சீரியாவிலிருந்து தண்டுகள் புறப்பட்டு, இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சிறுபெண்ணைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டு வந்திருந்தார்கள்; அவள் நாகமானின் மனைவிக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தாள்.

2. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, & had brought out of the countrey of Israel a litle mayde, & she was with Naamans wyfe.

3. அவள் தன் நாச்சியாரைப் பார்த்து: என் ஆண்டவன் சமாரியாவிலிருக்கிற தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்தில் போவாரானால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; அவர் இவருடைய குஷ்டரோகத்தை நீக்கிவிடுவார் என்றாள்.

3. And she saide vnto her lady: I would to God my lorde were with the prophet that is in Samaria, for he would delyuer him of his leprosie.

4. அப்பொழுது அவன் போய், இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்துப் பெண் இன்ன இன்ன பிரகாரமாய்ச் சொல்லுகிறாள் என்று தன் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் அறிவித்தான்.

4. And he went in, and tolde his lorde, saying: Thus and thus saide the mayd that is of the lande of Israel.

5. அப்பொழுது சீரியாவின் ராஜா: நல்லது போகலாம், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவுக்கு நிருபம் தருகிறேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே அவன் தன் கையிலே பத்துத்தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், ஆறாயிரம் சேக்கல் நிறைபொன்னையும், பத்து மாற்றுவஸ்திரங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்,

5. And the king of Syria saide: Go thy way thither, and I wyll send a letter vnto the king of Israel. And he departed, and toke with him ten talentes of siluer, and sixe thousand peeces of golde, and ten chaunges of raymentes,

6. இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடத்தில் அந்த நிருபத்தைக் கொடுத்தான். அதிலே: இந்த நிருபத்தை உம்மிடத்தில் என் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய நாகமான் கொண்டுவருவான்; நீர் அவன் குஷ்டரோகத்தை நீக்கிவிட அவனை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பியிருக்கிறேன் என்று எழுதியிருந்தது.

6. And brought the letter to the king of Israel, conteyning this tenour. Now, when this letter is come vnto thee, beholde I haue therewith sent Naaman my seruaunt to thee, that thou mayest ridde him of his leprosie.

7. இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா அந்த நிருபத்தை வாசித்தபோது, அவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: ஒரு மனுஷனை அவன் குஷ்டரோகத்தினின்று நீக்கிவிடவேண்டும் என்று, அவன் என்னிடத்தில் நிருபம் அனுப்புகிறதற்கு, கொல்லவும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கவும் நான் தேவனா? இவன் என்னை விரோதிக்க சமயம் தேடுகிறான் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள் என்றான்.

7. And it fortuned, that when the king of Israel had red the letter, he rent his clothes, and saide: Am I God, that I should slay, and make a lyue? For he doth send to me that I should delyuer a man from his leprosie: Wherefore consider I pray you, & see how he seeketh a quarell against me.

8. இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்ட செய்தியை தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய எலிசா கேட்டபோது, அவன்: நீர் உம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொள்வானேன்? அவன் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து, இஸ்ரவேலிலே தீர்க்கதரிசி உண்டென்பதை அறிந்துகொள்ளட்டும் என்று ராஜாவுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினான்.

8. Which when Elisa the man of God had heard how that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, he sent to the king, saying: Wherfore hast thou rent thy clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall knowe that there is a prophet in Israel.

9. அப்படியே நாகமான் தன் குதிரைகளோடும் தன் இரதத்தோடும் வந்து எலிசாவின் வாசற்படியிலே நின்றான்.

9. And so Naaman came with his horses and with his charets, and stoode at the doore of the house of Elisa.

10. அப்பொழுது எலிசா: அவனிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி, நீ போய், யோர்தானில் ஏழுதரம் ஸ்நானம்பண்ணு; அப்பொழுது உன் மாம்சம் மாறி, நீ சுத்தமாவாய் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

10. And Elisa sent a messenger vnto him, saying: Go, and washe thee in Iordane seuen tymes, and thy fleshe shall come againe to thee, and thou shalt be cleansed.

11. அதற்கு நாகமான் கடுங்கோபங்கொண்டு, புறப்பட்டுப்போய்: அவன் வெளியே வந்து நின்று, தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுது, தன் கையினால் அந்த இடத்தைத் தடவி, இவ்விதமாய்க் குஷ்டரோகத்தை நீக்கிவிடுவான் என்று எனக்குள் நினைத்திருந்தேன்.

11. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and saide: Beholde, I thought with my selfe, he would surely come out, and stande and call on the name of the Lord his god, & put his hand on the place, that he may heale the leprosie.

12. நான் ஸ்நானம்பண்ணிச் சுத்தமாகிறதற்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் தண்ணீர்கள் எல்லாவற்றைப்பார்க்கிலும் தமஸ்குவின் நதிகளாகிய ஆப்னாவும் பர்பாரும் நல்லதல்லவோ என்று சொல்லி, உக்கிரத்தோடே திரும்பிப்போனான்.

12. Are not Abana and Pharphar riuers of Damasco, better then all the waters of Israel? If I washe me also in them, shal I not be cleansed? And so he turned him, and departed with displeasure.

13. அவன் ஊழியக்காரர் சமீபத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: தகப்பனே, அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒரு பெரிய காரியத்தைச் செய்ய உமக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தால் அதை நீர் செய்வீர் அல்லவா? ஸ்நானம்பண்ணும், அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாவீர் என்று அவர் உம்மோடே சொல்லும்போது, அதைச் செய்யவேண்டியது எத்தனை அதிகம் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

13. And his seruauntes came, and communed with him, and saide: Father, if the prophet had byd thee do some great thing, oughtest thou not to haue done it? How much rather then when he saith to thee, washe, and be cleane?

14. அப்பொழுது அவன் இறங்கி, தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் வார்த்தையின்படியே யோர்தானில் ஏழுதரம் முழுகினபோது, அவன் மாம்சம் ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளையின் மாம்சத்தைப்போல மாறி, அவன் சுத்தமானான்.

14. Then went he downe, & washed him selfe seuen tymes in Iordane, according to the saying of the man of God, and his fleshe came againe lyke vnto the fleshe of a litle childe, and he was cleansed.

15. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் கூட்டத்தோடெல்லாம் தேவனுடைய மனுஷனிடத்துக்குத் திரும்பிவந்து, அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்று: இதோ, இஸ்ரவேலிலிருக்கிற தேவனைத்தவிர பூமியெங்கும் வேறே தேவன் இல்லை என்பதை அறிந்தேன்; இப்போதும் உமது அடியேன் கையில் ஒரு காணிக்கை வாங்கிக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றான்.

15. And he turned againe to the man of God, he and al his company, and stoode before him, and saide: Behold, I know nowe that there is no God in all the worlde, but in Israel: Now therfore I pray thee take a blessing of thy seruaunt?

16. அதற்கு அவன்: நான் வாங்குகிறதில்லை என்று கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவருடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; வாங்கவேண்டும் என்று அவனை வருந்தினாலும் தட்டுதல் பண்ணிவிட்டான்.

16. But he saide: As the lorde lyueth before whom I stande, I wyll receaue none: And when the other would haue constrayned him to receaue it, he would not.

17. அப்பொழுது நாகமான்: ஆனாலும் இரண்டு கோவேறு கழுதைகள் சுமக்கத்தக்க இரண்டு பொதி மண் உமது அடியேனுக்குக் கட்டளையிடவேண்டும்; உமது அடியேன் இனிக் கர்த்தருக்கே அல்லாமல், அந்நிய தேவர்களுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனத்தையும் பலியையும் செலுத்துவதில்லை.

17. And Naaman saide: Shall there not be geue to thy seruaunt as much of this earth as two mules may beare? For thy seruaunt wyll hencefoorth offer neither burnt sacrifice nor offering vnto any other God, saue vnto the Lorde.

18. ஒரு காரியத்தையே கர்த்தர் உமது அடியேனுக்கு மன்னிப்பாராக; என் ஆண்டவன் பணிந்துகொள்ள ரிம்மோன் கோவிலுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும்போது, நான் அவருக்குக் கைலாகு கொடுத்து ரிம்மோன் கோவிலிலே பணியவேண்டியதாகும்; இப்படி ரிம்மோன் கோவிலில் நான் பணியவேண்டிய இந்தக் காரியத்தைக் கர்த்தர் உமது அடியேனுக்கு மன்னிப்பாராக என்றான்.

18. But herein the Lorde be mercyfull to thy seruaunt, that when my maister goeth into the house of Rimmon for to worship there, and leaneth on my hand, and I bowe my selfe in the house of Rimmon: when I do bowe downe I say in the house of Rimmon, the Lorde be mercyfull vnto thy seruaunt because of this thing.

19. அதற்கு அவன்: சமாதானத்தோடே போ என்றான்; இவன் புறப்பட்டுக் கொஞ்சதூரம் போனபோது,
மாற்கு 5:34

19. Unto whom he saide: Go in peace. And when he was departed from him as it were a furlong of grounde,

20. தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய எலிசாவின் வேலைக்காரன் கேயாசி என்பவன், அந்தச் சீரியனாகிய நாகமான் கொண்டுவந்ததை என் ஆண்டவன் அவன் கையிலே வாங்காமல் அவனை விட்டுவிட்டார்; நான் அவன் பிறகே ஓடி, அவன் கையிலே ஏதாகிலும் வாங்குவேன் என்று கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவன்மேல் ஆணையிட்டு,

20. Gehezi the seruaunt of Elisa the man of God, said: Beholde, my maister hath spared Naaman this Syrian, that he would not receaue at his hande those thinges that he offered: As the Lorde lyueth, I wyll runne after him, & take somewhat of him.

21. நாகமானைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தான்; அவன் தன் பிறகே ஓடிவருகிறதை நாகமான் கண்டபோது, அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோக இரதத்திலிருந்து குதித்து: சுகசெய்தியா என்று கேட்டான்.

21. And so Gehezi folowed Naaman: And when Naaman saw him running after him, he light downe from the charet to meete him, and saide: Is all well?

22. அதற்கு அவன்: சுகசெய்திதான்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்திரரில் இரண்டு வாலிபர் இப்பொழுதுதான் எப்பிராயீம் மலைத்தேசத்திலிருந்து என்னிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், இரண்டு மாற்றுவஸ்திரங்களையும் தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்க, என் எஜமான் என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்றான்.

22. He aunswered, All is well: Beholde, my maister hath sent me, saying: See, there be come to me euen nowe from mount Ephraim two young men of the children of the prophetes: Geue them I pray thee one talent of siluer, and two chaunge of garmentes.

23. அதற்கு நாகமான்: தயவுசெய்து, இரண்டு தாலந்தை வாங்கிக்கொள் என்று சொல்லி, அவனை வருந்தி, இரண்டு தாலந்து வெள்ளியை இரண்டு பைகளில் இரண்டு மாற்றுவஸ்திரங்களோடே கட்டி, அவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சுமந்துபோக, தன் வேலைக்காரரான இரண்டுபேர்மேல் வைத்தான்.

23. And Naaman said: With a good will, take two talentes: And he constrained him, & bounde two talentes of siluer in two bagges, with two chaunge of garmentes, and laide them vpon two of his seruauntes, to beare them before him.

24. அவன் மேட்டண்டைக்கு வந்தபோது, அவன் அதை அவர்கள் கையிலிருந்து வாங்கி, வீட்டிலே வைத்து, அந்த மனுஷரை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவர்கள் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

24. And when he came to the lower place, he toke [them] from their hand, and bestowed [them] in the house, and he let the men go, and they departed.

25. பின்பு அவன் உள்ளேபோய்த் தன் எஜமானுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றான்; கேயாசியே, எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தாய் என்று எலிசா அவனைக் கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: உமது அடியான் எங்கும் போகவில்லை என்றான்.

25. But he went in and stoode before his maister: And Elisa said vnto him, whece commest thou Gehezi? He saide: Thy seruaunt went no whyther.

26. அப்பொழுது அவன் இவனைப்பார்த்து: அந்த மனுஷன் உனக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவர தன் இரதத்திலிருந்து இறங்கித் திரும்புகிறபோது என் மனம் உன்னுடன்கூடச் செல்லவில்லையா? பணத்தை வாங்குகிறதற்கும், வஸ்திரங்களையும் ஒலிவத்தோப்புகளையும் திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களையும் ஆடுமாடுகளையும் வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும் வாங்குகிறதற்கும் இது காலமா?

26. But he saide vnto him: went not myne heart [with thee] when the man turned againe from his charet to meete thee? Is it now a tyme to receaue money, to receaue garmentes, olyue trees, vnieyardes, sheepe, and oxen, men seruauntes, and mayde seruauntes.

27. ஆகையால் நாகமானின் குஷ்டரோகம் உன்னையும் உன் சந்ததியாரையும் என்றைக்கும் பிடித்திருக்கும் என்றான்; உடனே அவன் உறைந்த மழை நிறமான குஷ்டரோகியாகி, அவன் சமுகத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.

27. The leprosie therefore of Naaman shal cleaue vnto thee, and vnto thy seede for euer. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snowe.
