1. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும் ராஜ அரமனையையும், தான் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று விரும்பின எல்லாவற்றையும் கட்டி முடித்தபின்பு,

1. And it came to pass when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all the work of Solomon, whatever he wished to perform,

2. கர்த்தர் கிபியோனிலே சாலொமோனுக்குத் தரிசனமானதுபோல, இரண்டாந்தரமும் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானார்.

2. that the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as He appeared in Gibeon.

3. கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ என் சமுகத்தில் செய்த உன் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் உன் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டேன்; நீ கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்தில் என் நாமம் என்றைக்கும் விளங்கத்தக்கதாக, அதைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கினேன்; என் கண்களும் என் இருதயமும் எந்நாளும் அங்கேயிருக்கும்.

3. And the Lord said to him, I have heard the voice of your prayer, and your supplication which you have made before Me. I have done for you according to all your prayer; I have hallowed this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart shall be there always.

4. நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் நீ செய்து, என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, என் சமுகத்தில் மன உத்தமமும் செம்மையுமாய் உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது நடந்ததுபோல நடப்பாயானால்,

4. And if you will walk before Me as David your father walked, in holiness of heart and uprightness, and so as to do according to all that I commanded him, and shall keep My ordinances and My commandments,

5. இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் உட்காரும் புருஷன் உனக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதில்லை என்று உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதோடே நான் சொன்னபடியே, இஸ்ரவேலின் மேலுள்ள உன் ராஜ்யபாரத்தின் சிங்காசனத்தை என்றைக்கும் நிலைக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்.

5. then will I establish the throne of your kingdom in Israel forever, as I spoke to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to rule in Israel.

6. நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் என்னைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி, நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்வைத்த என் கற்பனைகளையும் என் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளாமற்போய், வேறே தேவர்களைச் சேவித்து, அவைகளைப் பணிந்துகொள்வீர்களாகில்,

6. But if you or your children do in any wise revolt from Me, and do not keep My commandments and My ordinances, which Moses set before you, and you go and serve other gods, and worship them;

7. நான் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திலே அவர்களை வைக்காதபடிக்கு நிர்மூலமாக்கி, என் நாமம் விளங்க நான் பரிசுத்தமாக்கின இந்த ஆலயத்தை என் சமுகத்தைவிட்டுத் தள்ளுவேன்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் சகல ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் பழமொழியாகவும் வசைச்சொல்லாகவும் இருப்பார்கள்.

7. then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them, and this house which I have consecrated to My name I will cast out of My sight; and Israel shall be a desolation and a by-word to all nations.

8. அப்பொழுது உன்னதமாயிருக்கிற இந்த ஆலயத்தைக் கடந்து போகிறவன் எவனும் பிரமித்து, பகிடியாய் ஈசலிட்டு: கர்த்தர் இந்த தேசத்துக்கும் இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கும் இப்படிச் செய்தது என்ன? என்று கேட்பார்கள்.

8. And this house, which is high, shall be [so that] everyone that passes by it shall be amazed, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why has the Lord done thus to this land, and to this house?

9. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: தங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விட்டு. வேறே தேவர்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு, அவர்களை நமஸ்கரித்துச் சேவித்தபடியினால், கர்த்தர் இந்தத் தீங்கையெல்லாம் அவர்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லுவார்கள் என்றார்.

9. And [men] shall say, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought out their fathers from Egypt, out of the house of bondage, and they attached themselves to strange gods, and worshipped them, and served them; therefore the Lord has brought this evil upon them.

10. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயமும் ராஜ அரமனையுமாகிய இரண்டு மாளிகைகளையும் கட்டி நிறைவேற்றுகிற இருபதாம் வருஷம் முடிவிலே,

10. [During] twenty years in which Solomon was building the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the house of the king,

11. தன்னுடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியெல்லாம் தனக்குக் கேதுருமரங்களையும், தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களையும், பொன்னையும் கொடுத்துவந்த தீருவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஈராமுக்கு, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள இருபது பட்டணங்களைக் கொடுத்தான்.

11. Hiram king of Tyre helped Solomon with cedar wood, and fir wood, and with gold, and all that he wished for. Then the king gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12. ஈராம் தனக்குச் சாலொமோன் கொடுத்த பட்டணங்களைப் பார்க்கிறதற்குத் தீருவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்; அவைகளில் அவன் பிரியப்படவில்லை.

12. So Hiram departed from Tyre, and went into Galilee to see the cities which Solomon gave to him; and they pleased him not. And he said,

13. அதனாலே அவன்: என் சகோதரனே, நீர் எனக்குக் கொடுத்த இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் என்ன பட்டணங்கள்? என்றான். அவைகளுக்கு இந்நாள்மட்டும் வழங்கி வருகிறபடி காபூல் நாடு என்று பேரிட்டான்.

13. What [are] these cities which you have given me, brother? And he called them Boundary until this day.

14. ஈராம் ராஜாவுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து பொன் அனுப்பியிருந்தான்.

14. And Hiram brought to Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

15. பிடித்த அமஞ்சி ஆட்களைக்கொண்டு சாலொமோன் ராஜா தான் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும், தன் அரமனையையும், மில்லோவையும், எருசலேமின் மதிலையும், ஆத்சோரையும், மெகிதோவையும், கேசேரையும் கட்டினான்.

15. This was the arrangement of the provision which King Solomon fetched to build the house of the Lord, and the house of the king, and the wall of Jerusalem, and the citadel; to fortify the City of David, and Assyria, and Migdol, and Gezer, and Beth Horon the upper, and Jethermath, and all the cities of the chariots, and all the cities of the horsemen, and the fortification of Solomon which he purposed to build in Jerusalem and in all the land,

16. கேசேரை ஏன் கட்டினான் என்றால், எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன் புறப்பட்டுவந்து, அந்தக் கேசேர் பட்டணத்தைப் பிடித்து, அதை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து, அதிலே குடியிருந்த கானானியரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு, அதைச் சாலொமோனின் மனைவியாகிய தன் குமாரத்திக்குச் சீதனமாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தான்.

20. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சங்காரம் பண்ணக்கூடாமல் மீந்திருந்த இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் ஜாதியல்லாத எமோரியர், ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், ஏவியர், எபூசியருமான சகல ஜனத்திலும்,

20. so that none of the people should rule over him that was left of the Hittite and the Amorite, and the Perizzite and the Canaanite, and the Hivite and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, who were not of the children of Israel, their descendants who had been left with him in the land, whom the children of Israel could not utterly destroy; and Solomon made them tributaries until this day.

21. அவர்களுக்குப் பிறகு தேசத்தில் மீந்திருந்த சகல ஜனங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும், சாலொமோன் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் நடக்கிறதுபோல, அமஞ்சி வேலை செய்ய அடிமைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டான்.

22. But of the children of Israel Solomon made nothing; for they were the warriors, and his servants and rulers, and captains of the third order, and the captains of his chariots, and his horsemen.

24. Then Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the City of David into his house which he built for himself in those days,

25. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்தை முடித்தபின்பு, அவருக்குக் கட்டின பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் வருஷத்தில் மூன்றுமுறை சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதான பலிகளையும் இட்டு, கர்த்தரின் சந்நிதியில் இருக்கிற பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தூபங்காட்டிவந்தான்.

26. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஏதோம் தேசத்தில் சிவந்த சமுத்திரக்கரையிலே ஏலோத்துக்குச் சமீபத்திலுள்ள எசியோன்கேபேரிலே கப்பல்களைச் செய்வித்தான்.

26. even that for which King Solomon built a ship in Ezion Geber near Elath on the shore of the extremity of the sea in the land of Edom.

27. அந்தக் கப்பல்களில் ஈராம் சமுத்திர யாத்திரையில் பழகின கப்பலாட்களாகிய தன் வேலைக்காரரைச் சாலொமோனுடைய வேலைக்காரரோடேகூட அனுப்பினான்.

27. And Hiram sent in the ship together with the servants of Solomon servants of his own, mariners to row, men acquainted with the sea.

28. அவர்கள் ஓப்பீருக்குப்போய், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து நானூற்று இருபது தாலந்து பொன்னை ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

28. And they came to Ophir, and took from there a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and brought them to King Solomon.
