1. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும் ராஜ அரமனையையும், தான் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று விரும்பின எல்லாவற்றையும் கட்டி முடித்தபின்பு,

1. After Solomon had completed building The Temple of GOD and his own palace, all the projects he had set his heart on doing,

2. கர்த்தர் கிபியோனிலே சாலொமோனுக்குத் தரிசனமானதுபோல, இரண்டாந்தரமும் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானார்.

2. GOD appeared to Solomon again, just as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.

3. கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ என் சமுகத்தில் செய்த உன் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் உன் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டேன்; நீ கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்தில் என் நாமம் என்றைக்கும் விளங்கத்தக்கதாக, அதைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கினேன்; என் கண்களும் என் இருதயமும் எந்நாளும் அங்கேயிருக்கும்.

3. And GOD said to him, 'I've listened to and received all your prayers, your ever-so-passionate prayers. I've sanctified this Temple that you have built: My Name is stamped on it forever; my eyes are on it and my heart in it always.

4. நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் நீ செய்து, என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, என் சமுகத்தில் மன உத்தமமும் செம்மையுமாய் உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது நடந்ததுபோல நடப்பாயானால்,

4. As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David lived, pure in heart and action, living the life I've set out for you, attentively obedient to my guidance and judgments,

5. then I'll back your kingly rule over Israel, make it a sure thing on a solid foundation. The same guarantee I gave David your father I'm giving you: 'You can count on always having a descendant on Israel's throne.'

6. நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் என்னைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி, நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்வைத்த என் கற்பனைகளையும் என் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளாமற்போய், வேறே தேவர்களைச் சேவித்து, அவைகளைப் பணிந்துகொள்வீர்களாகில்,

6. 'But if you or your sons betray me, ignoring my guidance and judgments, taking up with alien gods by serving and worshiping them,

7. நான் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திலே அவர்களை வைக்காதபடிக்கு நிர்மூலமாக்கி, என் நாமம் விளங்க நான் பரிசுத்தமாக்கின இந்த ஆலயத்தை என் சமுகத்தைவிட்டுத் தள்ளுவேன்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் சகல ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் பழமொழியாகவும் வசைச்சொல்லாகவும் இருப்பார்கள்.

7. then the guarantee is off: I'll wipe Israel right off the map and repudiate this Temple I've just sanctified to honor my Name. And Israel will become nothing but a bad joke among the peoples of the world.

8. அப்பொழுது உன்னதமாயிருக்கிற இந்த ஆலயத்தைக் கடந்து போகிறவன் எவனும் பிரமித்து, பகிடியாய் ஈசலிட்டு: கர்த்தர் இந்த தேசத்துக்கும் இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கும் இப்படிச் செய்தது என்ன? என்று கேட்பார்கள்.

8. And this Temple, splendid as it now is, will become an object of contempt; visitors will shake their heads, saying, 'Whatever happened here? What's the story behind these ruins?'

9. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: தங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விட்டு. வேறே தேவர்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு, அவர்களை நமஸ்கரித்துச் சேவித்தபடியினால், கர்த்தர் இந்தத் தீங்கையெல்லாம் அவர்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லுவார்கள் என்றார்.

9. Then they'll be told, 'The people who used to live here betrayed their GOD, the very God who rescued their ancestors from Egypt; they took up with alien gods, worshiping and serving them. That's what's behind this GOD-visited devastation.''

10. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயமும் ராஜ அரமனையுமாகிய இரண்டு மாளிகைகளையும் கட்டி நிறைவேற்றுகிற இருபதாம் வருஷம் முடிவிலே,

10. At the end of twenty years, having built the two buildings, The Temple of GOD and his personal palace,

11. தன்னுடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியெல்லாம் தனக்குக் கேதுருமரங்களையும், தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களையும், பொன்னையும் கொடுத்துவந்த தீருவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஈராமுக்கு, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள இருபது பட்டணங்களைக் கொடுத்தான்.

11. Solomon rewarded Hiram king of Tyre with a gift of twenty villages in the district of Galilee. Hiram had provided him with all the cedar and cypress and gold that he had wanted.

12. ஈராம் தனக்குச் சாலொமோன் கொடுத்த பட்டணங்களைப் பார்க்கிறதற்குத் தீருவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்; அவைகளில் அவன் பிரியப்படவில்லை.

12. But when Hiram left Tyre to look over the villages that Solomon had given him, he didn't like what he saw.

13. அதனாலே அவன்: என் சகோதரனே, நீர் எனக்குக் கொடுத்த இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் என்ன பட்டணங்கள்? என்றான். அவைகளுக்கு இந்நாள்மட்டும் வழங்கி வருகிறபடி காபூல் நாடு என்று பேரிட்டான்.

13. He said, 'What kind of reward is this, my friend? Twenty backwoods hick towns!' People still refer to them that way.

14. ஈராம் ராஜாவுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து பொன் அனுப்பியிருந்தான்.

14. This is all Hiram got from Solomon in exchange for four and a half tons of gold!

15. பிடித்த அமஞ்சி ஆட்களைக்கொண்டு சாலொமோன் ராஜா தான் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும், தன் அரமனையையும், மில்லோவையும், எருசலேமின் மதிலையும், ஆத்சோரையும், மெகிதோவையும், கேசேரையும் கட்டினான்.

15. This is the work record of the labor force that King Solomon raised to build The Temple of GOD, his palace, the defense complex (the Millo), the Jerusalem wall, and the fortified cities of Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

16. கேசேரை ஏன் கட்டினான் என்றால், எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன் புறப்பட்டுவந்து, அந்தக் கேசேர் பட்டணத்தைப் பிடித்து, அதை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து, அதிலே குடியிருந்த கானானியரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு, அதைச் சாலொமோனின் மனைவியாகிய தன் குமாரத்திக்குச் சீதனமாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தான்.

16. Pharaoh king of Egypt had come up and captured Gezer, torched it, and killed all the Canaanites who lived there. He gave it as a wedding present to his daughter, Solomon's wife.

17. சாலொமோன் அந்தக் கேசேர்பட்டணத்தையும், கீழ்ப்பெத்தொரோனையும்,

17. So Solomon rebuilt Gezer. He also built Lower Beth Horon,

18. பாலாத்தையும், வனாந்தர வெளியிலுள்ள தத்மோரையும்,

18. Baalath, and Tamar in the desert, back-country

19. தனக்கு இருக்கிற ரஸ்துக்களை வைக்கும் சகல பட்டணங்களையும், இரதங்கள் இருக்கும் பட்டணங்களையும், குதிரை வீரர் இருக்கும் பட்டணங்களையும், எருசலேமிலும் லீபனோனிலும், தான் அரசாண்ட தேசமெங்கும் தனக்கு இஷ்டமானதையெல்லாம் கட்டினான்.

19. storehouse villages, and villages for chariots and horses. Solomon built widely and extravagantly in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and wherever he fancied.

20. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சங்காரம் பண்ணக்கூடாமல் மீந்திருந்த இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் ஜாதியல்லாத எமோரியர், ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், ஏவியர், எபூசியருமான சகல ஜனத்திலும்,

20. The remnants from the original inhabitants of the land (Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites--all non-Israelites),

21. அவர்களுக்குப் பிறகு தேசத்தில் மீந்திருந்த சகல ஜனங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும், சாலொமோன் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் நடக்கிறதுபோல, அமஞ்சி வேலை செய்ய அடிமைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டான்.

21. survivors of the holy wars, were rounded up by Solomon for his gangs of slave labor, a policy still in effect.

22. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் ஒருவரையும் சாலொமோன் அடிமைப்படுத்தவில்லை; அவர்கள் யுத்தமனுஷரும், அவனுக்குப் பணிவிடைக்காரரும், பிரபுக்களும், சேர்வைக்காரரும், இரதவீரரும், குதிரைவீரருமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

22. But true Israelites were not treated this way; they were used in his army and administration--government leaders and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.

23. ஐந்நூற்றைம்பதுபேர் சாலொமோனின் வேலையை விசாரித்து, வேலையாட்களைக் கண்காணிக்கிறதற்குத் தலைமையான விசாரிப்புக்காரராயிருந்தார்கள்.

23. They were also the project managers responsible for Solomon's building operations--550 of them in charge of the workforce.

24. பார்வோனின் குமாரத்தி, தாவீதின் நகரத்திலிருந்து சாலொமோன் தனக்குக் கட்டின தன் மாளிகையிலே குடிவந்தாள்; அப்பொழுது மில்லோவைக் கட்டினான்.

24. It was after Pharaoh's daughter ceremonially ascended from the City of David and took up residence in the house built especially for her that Solomon built the defense complex (the Millo).

25. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்தை முடித்தபின்பு, அவருக்குக் கட்டின பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் வருஷத்தில் மூன்றுமுறை சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதான பலிகளையும் இட்டு, கர்த்தரின் சந்நிதியில் இருக்கிற பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தூபங்காட்டிவந்தான்.

25. Three times a year Solomon worshiped at the Altar of GOD, sacrificing Whole-Burnt-Offerings and Peace-Offerings, and burning incense in the presence of GOD. Everything that had to do with The Temple he did generously and well; he didn't skimp.

26. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஏதோம் தேசத்தில் சிவந்த சமுத்திரக்கரையிலே ஏலோத்துக்குச் சமீபத்திலுள்ள எசியோன்கேபேரிலே கப்பல்களைச் செய்வித்தான்.

26. And ships! King Solomon also built ships at Ezion Geber, located near Elath in Edom on the Red Sea.

27. அந்தக் கப்பல்களில் ஈராம் சமுத்திர யாத்திரையில் பழகின கப்பலாட்களாகிய தன் வேலைக்காரரைச் சாலொமோனுடைய வேலைக்காரரோடேகூட அனுப்பினான்.

27. Hiram sent seaworthy sailors to assist Solomon's men with the fleet.

28. அவர்கள் ஓப்பீருக்குப்போய், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து நானூற்று இருபது தாலந்து பொன்னை ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

28. They embarked for Ophir, brought back sixteen tons of gold, and presented it to King Solomon.
