1. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சீயோன் என்னும் தாவீதின் நகரத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவரும்படி சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரையும், கோத்திரப் பிரபுக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிலுள்ள பிதாக்களின் தலைவர் அனைவரையும், எருசலேமில் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தன்னிடத்திலே கூடிவரச்செய்தான்.

1. Then King Solomon told all the elders of Israel, the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the families of Israel to come together in Jerusalem. Solomon wanted them to join in moving the Box of the Agreement from the City of David up to the Temple.

2. இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷரெல்லாரும் ஏழாம் மாதமாகிய ஏத்தானீம் மாதத்துப் பண்டிகையிலே, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.

2. So during the special festival in the month of Ethanim, the seventh month of the year, all the men of Israel came to the meeting with King Solomon.

3. இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர் அனைவரும் வந்திருக்கையில், ஆசாரியர் கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து,

3. When all the elders of Israel arrived, the priests and Levites carried the Holy Box of the Lord up to the Temple. They also carried the Meeting Tent and all the holy things that were in it up to the Temple.

4. பெட்டியையும், ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தையும், கூடாரத்திலிருந்த பரிசுத்த பணிமுட்டுகள் அனைத்தையும் சுமந்து கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; ஆசாரியரும், லேவியரும், அவைகளைச் சுமந்தார்கள்.

5. King Solomon and all Israel met together before the Box of the Agreement and sacrificed so many sheep and cattle that no one was able to count them all.

6. அப்படியே ஆசாரியர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியை ஆலயத்தின் சந்நிதிஸ்தானமாகிய மகாபரிசுத்தஸ்தானத்திலே கேருபீன்களுடைய செட்டைகளின்கீழே கொண்டுவந்துவைத்தார்கள்.

6. The priests carried the Box of the Agreement of the Lord to its proper place inside the Most Holy Place in the Temple, under the wings of the Cherub angels.

7. கேருபீன்கள் பெட்டியிருக்கும் ஸ்தானத்திலே தங்கள் இரண்டு செட்டைகளையும் விரித்து, உயர இருந்து பெட்டியையும் அதின் தண்டுகளையும் மூடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது.

7. The wings of the Cherub angels spread out over the Holy Box, and they covered the Holy Box and its carrying poles.

8. தண்டுகளின் முனைகள் சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்திற்கு முன்னான பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே காணப்படத்தக்கதாய் அந்தத் தண்டுகளை முன்னுக்கு இழுத்தார்கள்; ஆகிலும் வெளியே அவைகள் காணப்படவில்லை; அவைகள் இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் அங்கேதான் இருக்கிறது.

8. The poles are still there today. They are too long for the Most Holy Place, so anyone standing in the Holy Place can see the ends of the poles, although no one outside can see them.

9. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின் கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடே உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணுகிறபோது, மோசே ஓரேபிலே அந்தப் பெட்டியில் வைத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளே அல்லாமல் அதிலே வேறொன்றும் இருந்ததில்லை.

9. The only things inside the Holy Box are the two tablets that Moses put there at Mt. Horeb. This is where the Lord made his agreement with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.

10. When the priests came out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the Lord's Temple.

11. The priests could not continue their work because the Temple was filled with the Glory of the Lord.

12. Then Solomon said: 'The Lord makes the sun shine in the sky, but he chose to live in a dark cloud.

13. தேவரீர் வாசம்பண்ணத்தக்க வீடும், நீர் என்றைக்கும் தங்கத்தக்க நிலையான ஸ்தானமுமாகிய ஆலயத்தை உமக்குக் கட்டினேன் என்றும் சொல்லி,

13. But, Lord, I have built a beautiful Temple, where you may live forever.'

14. ராஜா முகம் திரும்பி, இஸ்ரவேல் சபையையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதித்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரெல்லாரும் நின்றார்கள்.

14. Then King Solomon turned toward all of the Israelites who were standing there and asked God to bless them.

15. அவன் சொன்னது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; அவர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதுக்குத் தம்முடைய வாக்கினால் சொன்னதைத் தம்முடைய கரத்தினால் நிறைவேற்றினார்.

15. King Solomon prayed this long prayer to the Lord: 'The Lord, the God of Israel, is great. He has done what he promised my father David. The Lord told my father,

16. அவர் நான் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின நாள்முதற்கொண்டு, என் நாமம் விளங்கும்படி, ஒரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்று நான் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய எல்லாக் கோத்திரங்களிலுமுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அதிகாரியாயிருக்கும்படி தாவீதையே தெரிந்துகொண்டேன் என்றார்.

16. 'I brought my people, Israel, out of Egypt, but I had not yet chosen a city from among the tribes of Israel for a temple to honor me. And I had not chosen a man to be leader over my people, Israel. But now I have chosen Jerusalem to be the city where I will be honored. And I have chosen David to rule over my people, Israel.'

17. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் நாமத்திற்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்கிற விருப்பம் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் இருதயத்தில் இருந்தது.

17. My father David wanted very much to build a temple to honor the Lord, the God of Israel.

18. But the Lord said to my father David, 'I know that you want very much to build a temple to honor me, and it is good that you want to build it.

20. So the Lord has kept his promises. I am the king now in place of my father David. I rule the people of Israel as the Lord promised. And I have built the Temple for the Lord, the God of Israel.

21. I have made a place in the Temple for the Holy Box. Inside that Holy Box is the agreement that the Lord made with our ancestors when he brought them out of Egypt.'

22. பின்பு சாலொமோன்: கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்திற்குமுன்னே இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரெல்லாருக்கும் எதிராக நின்று, வானத்திற்கு நேராய்த் தன் கைகளை விரித்து:

22. Then Solomon stood in front of whole assembly of Israel and faced the Lord's altar. Solomon spread his hands and looked toward heaven

23. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, மேலே வானத்திலும் கீழே பூமியிலும் உமக்கு ஒப்பான தேவன் இல்லை; தங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நடக்கிற உமது அடியாருக்கு உடன்படிக்கையையும் கிருபையையும் காத்து வருகிறீர்.

23. and said: 'Lord, God of Israel, there is no other god like you in heaven or on the earth. You keep the agreement that you made with your people. You are kind and loyal to those who follow you with all their heart.

24. தேவரீர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனுக்குச் செய்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்தைக் காத்தருளினீர்; அதை உம்முடைய வாக்கினால் சொன்னீர்; இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறபடி, உம்முடைய கரத்தினால் அதை நிறைவேற்றினீர்.

24. You made a promise to your servant, my father David, and you kept that promise. You made that promise with your own mouth, and with your own hands you made it come true today.

25. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, தேவரீர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனை நோக்கி: நீ எனக்கு முன்பாக நடந்ததுபோல, உன் குமாரரும் எனக்கு முன்பாக நடக்கும்படி தங்கள் வழியைக் காப்பார்களேயானால், இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கும் புருஷன் எனக்கு முன்பாக உனக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதில்லை என்று சொன்னதை இப்பொழுது அவனுக்கு நிறைவேற்றும்.

25. Now, Lord, God of Israel, keep the other promises you made to your servant David, my father. You said, 'David, if your sons carefully obey me as you did, you will always have someone from your family ruling the people of Israel.'

26. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனே, என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனுக்குச் சொன்ன உம்முடைய வார்த்தை மெய்யென்று விளங்குவதாக.

26. Again, Lord, God of Israel, I ask you to keep the promise you made to your servant, my father David.

27. தேவன் மெய்யாக பூமியிலே வாசம்பண்ணுவாரோ? இதோ, வானங்களும் வானாதி வானங்களும் உம்மைக் கொள்ளாதே; நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயம் எம்மாத்திரம்?

27. But, God, will you really live here with us on the earth? The whole sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you. Certainly this house that I built cannot contain you either.

28. என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உமது அடியேன் இன்று உமது சந்நிதியில் செய்கிற விண்ணப்பத்தையும் மன்றாட்டையும் கேட்டு, உமது அடியேனுடைய விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் திருவுளத்தில் கொண்டருளும்.

28. But please listen to my prayer and my request. I am your servant, and you are the Lord my God. Hear this prayer that I am praying to you today.

29. உமது அடியேன் இவ்விடத்திலே செய்யும் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்கும்படி என்னுடைய நாமம் விளங்குமென்று நீர் சொன்ன ஸ்தலமாகிய இந்த ஆலயத்தின் மேல் உம்முடைய கண்கள் இரவும் பகலும் திறந்திருப்பதாக.

29. In the past you said, 'I will be honored there.' So please watch over this Temple, night and day. And please listen to my prayer as I turn toward this Temple and pray to you.

30. உமது அடியானும், இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே விண்ணபஞ்செய்யப்போகிற உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலும் பண்ணும் ஜெபத்தைக் கேட்டருளும்; பரலோகமாகிய உம்முடைய வாசஸ்தலத்திலே அதை நீர் கேட்பீராக, கேட்டு மன்னிப்பீராக.

30. And Lord, please listen to our prayers in the future when I and your people Israel turn to this place and pray to you. We know that you live in heaven. We ask you to hear our prayer there and forgive us.

31. ஒருவன் தன் அயலானுக்குக் குற்றஞ்செய்திருக்கையில், இவன் அவனை ஆணையிடச்சொல்லும்போது, அந்த ஆணை இந்த ஆலயத்திலே உம்முடைய பலிபீடத்திற்கு முன் வந்தால்,

31. Those who wrong others will be brought to this altar. If they are not guilty, they will make an oath and promise that they are innocent.

32. Please listen from heaven and judge them. If they are guilty, please show us that they are guilty. And if they are innocent, please show us that they are not guilty.

33. உம்முடைய ஜனங்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலர் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்ததினிமித்தம் சத்துருவுக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்துபோய், உம்மிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி, உம்முடைய நாமத்தை அறிக்கைபண்ணி, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராக உம்மை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் செய்தால்,

33. 'Sometimes your people Israel will sin against you, and their enemies will defeat them. Then the people will come back to you and praise you. They will pray to you in this Temple.

34. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு, உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நீர் கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்கு அவர்களைத் திரும்பி வரப்பண்ணுவீராக.

34. Please listen in heaven, please listen to the prayers of your people Israel. Forgive them for their sins and let them have their land again. You gave this land to their ancestors.

35. அவர்கள் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்ததினால் வானம் அடைபட்டு மழைபெய்யாதிருக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் இந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்கு நேராக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்து, உம்முடைய நாமத்தை அறிக்கைபண்ணி, தங்களை தேவரீர் கிலேசப்படுத்துகையில் தங்கள் பாவங்களை விட்டுத் திரும்பினால்.

35. Sometimes they will sin against you, and you will stop the rain from falling on their land. Then they will pray toward this place and praise your name. You make them suffer, and they will be sorry for their sins.

36. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு, உமது அடியாரும் உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலும் செய்த பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் நடக்கவேண்டிய நல்வழியை அவர்களுக்குப் போதித்து, தேவரீர் உமது ஜனத்திற்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்த உமது தேசத்தில் மழை பெய்யக் கட்டளையிடுவீராக.

36. So please listen in heaven to their prayer. Then forgive us for our sins. Teach the people to live right. Then, Lord, please send rain to the land you gave them.

37. தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் உண்டாகிறபோதும், கொள்ளைநோய் உண்டாகிறபோதும், வறட்சி, சாவி, வெட்டுக்கிளி, பச்சைக்கிளி உண்டாகிறபோதும், அவர்கள் சத்துருக்கள் தேசத்திலுள்ள பட்டணங்களை முற்றிக்கை போடுகிறபோதும், யாதொரு வாதையாகிலும் யாதொரு வியாதியாகிலும் வருகிறபோதும்,

37. 'The land might become very dry and no food will grow on it. Or maybe a great sickness will spread among the people. Maybe all the food that is growing will be destroyed by insects. Or your people might be attacked in some of their cities by their enemies. Or many of your people might get sick.

38. உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் அனைவரிலும் எந்த மனுஷனானாலும் தன் இருதயத்தின் வாதையை உணர்ந்து, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராகத் தன் கைகளை விரித்துச் செய்யும் சகல விண்ணப்பத்தையும், சகல வேண்டுதலையும்,

38. When any of these things happen, and people feel compelled in their hearts to spread their hands in prayer toward this Temple,

39. உம்முடைய வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு மன்னித்து,

39. please listen to their prayer. Listen while you are in your home in heaven and forgive them and help them. Only you know what people are really thinking, so only you can judge then fairly.

40. தேவரீர் எங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் உமக்குப் பயப்படும்படிக்கு தேவரீர் ஒருவரே எல்லா மனுப்புத்திரரின் இருதயத்தையும் அறிந்தவராதலால், நீர் அவனவன் இருதயத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறபடியே, அவனவனுடைய வழிகளுக்குத்தக்கதாகச் செய்து, அவனவனுக்குப் பலன் அளிப்பீராக.

40. Do this so that your people will fear and respect you all the time that they live in this land that you gave to our ancestors.

41. உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் ஜாதியல்லாத அந்நிய ஜாதியார் உமது மகத்துவமான நாமத்தையும், உமது பலத்த கரத்தையும், உமது ஓங்கிய புயத்தையும் கேள்விப்படுவார்களே.

41. 'People from other places will hear about your greatness and your power. They will come from far away to pray at this Temple.

42. அப்படிக்கொத்த அந்நிய ஜாதியானும், உமது நாமத்தினிமித்தம் தூர தேசத்திலிருந்து வந்து, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினால்,

43. உமது வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அதைக் கேட்டு, பூமியின் ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலைப்போல உமக்குப் பயப்படும்படிக்கும், நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு உம்முடைய நாமம் தரிக்கப்பட்டதென்று அறியும்படிக்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்தை அறியத்தக்கதாக, அந்த அந்நிய ஜாதியான் உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்வதின்படியெல்லாம் தேவரீர் செய்வீராக.

43. From your home in heaven please listen to their prayers. Please do everything the people from other places ask you. Then they will fear and respect you the same as your people in Israel. Then all people everywhere will know that I built this Temple to honor you.

44. நீர் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களை அனுப்பும் வழியிலே அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களோடு யுத்தம் பண்ணப் புறப்படும்போது, நீர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த நகரத்துக்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்துக்கு நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கும் நேராக கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினால்,

44. Sometimes you will command your people to go and fight against their enemies. Then your people will turn toward the city that you have chosen and the Temple that I built in your honor, and they will pray to you.

45. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டு, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை விசாரிப்பீராக.

45. Listen to their prayers from your home in heaven, and help them.

46. பாவஞ்செய்யாத மனுஷன் இல்லையே; ஆகையால், அவர்கள் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்து, தேவரீர் அவர்கள்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் சத்துருக்கள் கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அந்தச் சத்துருக்கள் அவர்களைத் தூரத்திலாகிலும் சமீபத்திலாகிலும் இருக்கிற தங்கள் தேசத்திற்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டு போகும்போது,

46. Your people will sin against you. I know this because everyone sins. And you will be angry with your people. You will let their enemies defeat them. Their enemies will make them prisoners and carry them to some faraway land.

47. அவர்கள் சிறைப்பட்டுப் போயிருக்கிற தேசத்திலே தங்களில் உணர்வடைந்து, மனந்திரும்பி: நாங்கள் பாவஞ்செய்து, அக்கிரமம்பண்ணி, துன்மார்க்கமாய் நடந்தோம் என்று தங்கள் சிறையிருப்பான தேசத்திலே உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்து,

47. In that faraway land, your people will think about what happened. They will be sorry for their sins, and they will pray to you. They will say, 'We have sinned and done wrong.'

48. தங்களைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்ட தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்திலே தங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் தங்கள் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் உம்மிடத்தில் திரும்பி, தேவரீர் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தங்கள் தேசத்திற்கும், தேவரீர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த நகரத்திற்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்திற்கு நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்திற்கும் நேராக உம்மை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணும்போது,

48. They will be in that faraway land of their enemies, but they will turn back to you. They will feel sorry for their sins with their whole heart and soul. They will turn toward the land you gave their ancestors. They will look toward the city you chose and toward the Temple I built, and they will pray to you.

49. உமது வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்திலே இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டு, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை விசாரித்து,

49. Please listen from your home in heaven.

50. உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் செய்த பாவத்தையும், அவர்கள் உம்முடைய கட்டளையை மீறிய அவர்கள் துரோகங்களையும் எல்லாம் மன்னித்து, அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோகிறவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இரங்கத்தக்கதான இரக்கத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கப்பண்ணுவீராக.

50. Forgive your people of all their sins and for turning against you. Make their enemies be kind to them.

51. அவர்கள் எகிப்தென்கிற இருப்புக் காளவாயின் நடுவிலிருந்து தேவரீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணின உம்முடைய ஜனமும் உம்முடைய சுதந்தரமுமாய் இருக்கிறார்களே.

51. Remember that they are your people and that you brought them out of Egypt. It was as if you saved them by pulling them out of a hot oven!

52. அவர்கள் உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்வதின்படியெல்லாம் தேவரீர் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யும்படி, உம்முடைய கண்கள் உமது அடியானின் வேண்டுதலுக்கும், உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் வேண்டுதலுக்கும் திறந்திருப்பதாக.

52. 'Lord God, please listen to my prayers and to the prayers of your people Israel. Listen to their prayers any time that they ask you for help.

53. கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, நீர் எங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணும்போது, உம்முடைய தாசனாகிய மோசேயைக்கொண்டு சொன்னபடியே, தேவரீர் பூமியின் சகல ஜனங்களிலும் அவர்களை உமக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகப் பிரித்தெடுத்தீரே என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

53. You have chosen them from all the peoples of the earth to be your own special people. Lord, you promised to do that for us. You used your servant Moses to make that promise when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt.'

54. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி, இந்த ஜெபத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் எல்லாம் செய்து முடித்தபின்பு, அவன் கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்திற்கு முன்பாகத் தன் கைகளை வானத்திற்கு நேராக விரித்து, முழங்காற்படியிட்டிருந்ததை விட்டெழுந்து,

54. Solomon prayed that prayer to God. He was on his knees in front of the altar. He prayed with his arms raised toward heaven. When he finished praying, he stood up.

55. நின்றுகொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேல் சபையையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதித்து, உரத்த சத்தத்தோடே சொன்னது:

55. Then, in a loud voice, he asked God to bless all the people of Israel. Solomon said:

56. தாம் வாக்குத்தத்தம் பண்ணினபடியெல்லாம் தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலை அருளின கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம், அவர் தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய மோசேயைக்கொண்டு சொன்ன அவருடைய நல்வார்த்தைகளில் எல்லாம் ஒரு வார்த்தையானாலும் தவறிப்போகவில்லை.

56. Praise the Lord! He promised to give rest to his people, Israel. And he has given us rest! He used his servant Moses and made many good promises to the people of Israel. And he has kept every one of them!

57. நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நம்மைக் கைவிடாமலும், நம்மை நெகிழவிடாமலும், அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களோடு இருந்ததுபோல, நம்மோடும் இருந்து,

57. I pray that the Lord our God will be with us, as he was with our ancestors. I pray that he will never leave us.

58. நாம் அவருடைய வழிகளில் எல்லாம் நடக்கிறதற்கும், அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும், அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும், அவருடைய நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கும், நம்முடைய இருதயத்தைத் தம்மிடத்தில் சாயப்பண்ணுவாராக.

58. I pray that we will turn to him and follow him. Then we will obey all the laws, decisions, and commands that he gave our ancestors.

59. கர்த்தரே தேவன், வேறொருவரும் இல்லையென்பதைப் பூமியின் ஜனங்களெல்லாம் அறியும்படியாக,

59. I pray that the Lord our God will always remember this prayer and what I have asked. I pray that he will do these things for his servant, the king, and for his people, Israel. I pray that he will do this every day.

60. அவர் தமது அடியானுடைய நியாயத்தையும், தமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் நியாயத்தையும், அந்தந்த நாளில் நடக்கும் காரியத்துக்குத்தக்கதாய் விசாரிப்பதற்கு, நான் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணின இந்த என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகள் இரவும்பகலும் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் இருப்பதாக.

60. If he will do these things, all the people of the world will know that the Lord is the only true God.

61. ஆதலால் இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நீங்கள் அவர் கட்டளைகளில் நடந்து, அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ள, உங்கள் இருதயம் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரோடு உத்தமமாய் இருக்கக்கடவது என்றான்.

61. You people must be loyal and true to the Lord our God. You must always follow and obey all of his laws and commands. You must continue to obey in the future as you do now.'

62. பின்பு ராஜாவும் அவனோடே இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரும், கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.

62. Then King Solomon and all the Israelites with him offered sacrifices to the Lord.

63. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருக்குச் சமாதானபலிகளாக, இருபத்தீராயிரம் மாடுகளையும், இலட்சத்திருபதினாயிரம் ஆடுகளையும் பலியிட்டான்; இவ்விதமாய் ராஜாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பிரதிஷ்டைபண்ணினார்கள்.

63. Solomon killed 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep for fellowship offerings. In this way the king and the people showed that they had dedicated the Temple to the Lord.

64. கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் இருந்த வெண்கலப் பலிபீடம் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும், போஜனபலிகளையும், சமாதானபலிகளின் நிணத்தையும் கொள்ளமாட்டாமல் சிறிதாயிருந்தபடியினால், ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குமுன் இருக்கிற பிராகாரத்தின் நடுமையத்தைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தி, அன்றையதினம் அங்கே சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும், போஜனபலிகளையும், சமாதானபலிகளின் நிணத்தையும் செலுத்தினான்.

64. King Solomon also dedicated the yard in front of the Temple. He offered burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat from the animals that were used as fellowship offerings. King Solomon made these offerings there in the yard. He did this because the bronze altar in front of the Lord was too small to hold them all.

65. அக்காலத்தில்தானே சாலொமோனும், ஆமாத்தின் எல்லைதொடங்கி எகிப்தின் நதிமட்டும் இருந்துவந்து, அவனோடே இருந்த பெரிய கூட்டமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தும் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஏழுநாளும், அதற்குப்பின்பு வேறே ஏழுநாளும், ஆகப் பதினாலு நாள்வரைக்கும் பண்டிகையை ஆசரித்தார்கள்.

65. So there at the Temple, King Solomon and all the people of Israel celebrated the festival. People came from as far away as Hamath Pass in the north and the border of Egypt in the south. This huge crowd of people ate, drank, and enjoyed themselves together with the Lord for seven days. Then they stayed for another seven days. They celebrated for a total of 14 days.

66. எட்டாம் நாளிலே ஜனங்களுக்கு விடைகொடுத்து அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் ராஜாவை வாழ்த்தி, கர்த்தர் தமது தாசனாகிய தாவீதுக்கும் தமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் செய்த எல்லா நன்மைக்காகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு மனமகிழ்ச்சியோடே தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

66. The next day Solomon told the people to go home. All the people thanked the king, said goodbye, and went home. They were happy because of all the good things that the Lord had done for David his servant and for his people Israel.
