1. எகிப்திலே தானியம் உண்டென்று யாக்கோபு அறிந்து, தன் குமாரரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் ஒருவர் முகத்தை ஒருவர் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்ன?

1. Then Iaakob saw that there was foode in Egypt, and Iaakob said vnto his sonnes, Why gaze ye one vpon an other?

2. எகிப்திலே தானியம் உண்டென்று கேள்விப்படுகிறேன்; நாம் சாகாமல் உயிரோடிருக்கும்படி நீங்கள் அவ்விடத்துக்குப் போய், நமக்காகத் தானியம் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றான்.

2. And he said, Behold, I haue heard that there is foode in Egypt, Get you downe thither, and bie vs foode thence, that we may liue and not die.

3. யோசேப்பின் சகோதரர் பத்துப்பேர் தானியங்கொள்ள எகிப்துக்குப் போனார்கள்.

3. So went Iosephs ten brethren downe to bye corne of the Egyptians.

4. யோசேப்பின் தம்பியாகிய பென்யமீனுக்கு ஏதோ மோசம் வரும் என்று சொல்லி, யாக்கோபு அவனை அவன் சகோதரரோடே அனுப்பவில்லை.

4. But Beniamin Iosephs brother woulde not Iaakob send with his brethren: for he saide, Least death should befall him.

5. And the sonnes of Israel came to bye foode among them that came: for there was famine in the land of Canaan.

6. யோசேப்பு அத்தேசத்துக்கு அதிபதியாயிருந்து, தேசத்தின் ஜனங்கள் யாவருக்கும் விற்றான். யோசேப்பின் சகோதரர் வந்து, முகங்குப்புறத் தரையிலே விழுந்து அவனை வணங்கினார்கள்.

6. Now Ioseph was gouerner of the land, who solde to all the people of the lande: then Iosephs brethren came, and bowed their face to the groud before him.

7. யோசேப்பு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, தன் சகோதரர் என்று அறிந்துகொண்டான்; அறிந்தும் அறியாதவன்போலக் கடினமாய் அவர்களோடே பேசி: நீங்கள் எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: கானான் தேசத்திலிருந்து தானியம் கொள்ளவந்தோம் என்றார்கள்.

7. And when Ioseph sawe his brethren, hee knewe them, and made himselfe straunge toward them, and spake to them roughly, and saide vnto them, Whence come yee? Who answered, Out of the land of Canaan, to bye vitaile.

8. யோசேப்பு அவர்களைத் தன் சகோதரர் என்று அறிந்தும், அவர்கள் அவனை அறியவில்லை.

8. (Now Ioseph knewe his brethren, but they knew not him.

9. யோசேப்பு அவர்களைக்குறித்துத் தான் கண்ட சொப்பனங்களை நினைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் வேவுகாரர், தேசம் எங்கே திறந்துகிடக்கிறது என்று பார்க்க வந்தீர்கள் என்றான்.

9. And Ioseph remembred the dreames, which he dreamed of them) and he sayde vnto them, Ye are spies, and are come to see the weaknesse of the land.

10. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அப்படியல்ல, ஆண்டவனே, உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் தானியம் கொள்ள வந்தோம்.

10. But they sayde vnto him, Nay, my lorde, but to bye vitayle thy seruants are come.

11. நாங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஒரு தகப்பனுடைய பிள்ளைகள்; நாங்கள் நிஜஸ்தர்; உமது அடியார் வேவுகாரர் அல்ல என்றார்கள்.

11. Wee are all one mans sonnes: wee meane truely, and thy seruants are no spies.

12. அதற்கு அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, தேசம் எங்கே திறந்துகிடக்கிறது என்று பார்க்கவே வந்தீர்கள் என்றான்.

12. But he saide vnto them, Nay, but yee are come to see the weakenes of the land.

13. அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் பன்னிரண்டு சகோதரர்; கானான் தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற ஒரு தகப்பன் புத்திரர்; இளையவன் இப்பொழுது எங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்தில் இருக்கிறான்; ஒருவன் காணாமற்போனான் என்றார்கள்.

13. And they said, We thy seruants are twelue brethren, the sonnes of one man in the lande of Canaan: and beholde, the yongest is this day with our father, and one is not.

14. யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களை வேவுகாரர் என்று நான் சொன்னது சரி.

14. Againe Ioseph sayde vnto them, This is it that I spake vnto you, saying, Ye are spies.

15. உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் இங்கே வந்தாலொழிய நீங்கள் இங்கேயிருந்து புறப்படுவது இல்லை என்று பார்வோனின் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

15. Hereby ye shall be proued: by the life of Pharaoh, ye shall not goe hence, except your yongest brother come hither.

16. இதினாலே நீங்கள் சோதிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்; உங்கள் சகோதரனை அழைத்து வரும்படி உங்களில் ஒருவனை அனுப்புங்கள்; உங்களிடத்தில் உண்மை உண்டோ இல்லையோ என்று உங்கள் வார்த்தைகள் சோதிக்கப்படுமளவும், நீங்கள் காவலில் இருக்கவேண்டும்; இல்லாவிட்டால், நீங்கள் வேவுகாரர்தான் என்று பார்வோனின் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,

16. Send one of you which may fet your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proued, whether there bee trueth in you: or els by the life of Pharaoh ye are but spies.

17. அவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் மூன்றுநாள் காவலிலே வைத்தான்.

17. So he put them in warde three dayes.

18. மூன்றாம் நாளிலே யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவன்; நீங்கள் உயிரோடே இருக்கும்படிக்கு ஒன்று செய்யுங்கள்.

18. Then Ioseph said vnto them the third day, This do, and liue: for I feare God.

19. நீங்கள் நிஜஸ்தரானால், சகோதரராகிய உங்களில் ஒருவன் காவற்கூடத்தில் கட்டுண்டிருக்கட்டும்; மற்றவர்கள் புறப்பட்டு, பஞ்சத்தினால் வருந்துகிற உங்கள் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தானியம் கொண்டுபோய்க் கொடுத்து,

19. If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bounde in your prison house, and goe ye, carie foode for the famine of your houses:

20. உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரனை என்னிடத்துக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்கள் வார்த்தைகள் மெய்யென்று விளங்கும்; நீங்கள் சாவதில்லை என்றான். அவர்கள் அப்படிச்செய்கிறதற்கு இசைந்து:

20. But bring your yonger brother vnto me, that your wordes may be tried, and that ye dye not: and they did so.

21. நம்முடைய சகோதரனுக்கு நாம் செய்த துரோகம் நம்மேல் சுமந்தது; அவன் நம்மைக் கெஞ்சி வேண்டிக்கொண்டபோது, அவனுடைய மனவியாகுலத்தை நாம் கண்டும், அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனோமே; ஆகையால் இந்த ஆபத்து நமக்கு நேரிட்டது என்று ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

21. And they said one to another, We haue verily sinned against our brother, in that we sawe the anguish of his soule, when he besought vs, and we would not heare him: therefore is this trouble come vpon vs.

22. அப்பொழுது ரூபன் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இளைஞனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்யாதிருங்கள் என்று நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவில்லையா? நீங்கள் கேளாமற்போனீர்கள்; இப்பொழுது, இதோ, அவன் இரத்தப்பழி நம்மிடத்தில் வாங்கப்படுகிறது என்றான்.

22. And Reuben answered them, saying, Warned I not you, saying, Sinne not against the childe, and ye would not heare? and lo, his blood is now required.

23. யோசேப்பு துபாசியைக்கொண்டு அவர்களிடத்தில் பேசினபடியால், தாங்கள் சொன்னது அவனுக்குத் தெரியும் என்று அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.

23. (And they were not aware that Ioseph vnderstoode them: for he spake vnto them by an interpreter.)

24. அவன் அவர்களை விட்டு அப்புறம் போய் அழுது, திரும்ப அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்து, அவர்களோடே பேசி, அவர்களில் சிமியோனைப் பிடித்து, அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகக் கட்டுவித்தான்.

24. Then he turned from them, and wept, and turned to them againe, and communed with them, and tooke Simeon from among them, and bounde him before their eyes.

25. பின்பு, அவர்கள் சாக்குகளைத் தானியத்தால் நிரப்பவும், அவர்கள் பணத்தைத் திரும்ப அவனவன் சாக்கிலே போடவும், வழிக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தைக் கொடுக்கவும் யோசேப்பு கட்டளையிட்டான்; அப்படியே அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டது.

25. So Ioseph commanded that they should fill their sackes with wheate, and put euery mans money againe in his sacke, and giue them vitaile for the iourney: and thus did he vnto them.

26. அவர்கள் அந்தத் தானியத்தைத் தங்கள் கழுதைகள்மேல் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, அவ்விடம்விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

26. And they layed their vitaile vpon their asses, and departed thence.

27. தங்குகிற இடத்திலே அவர்களில் ஒருவன் தன் கழுதைக்குத் தீவனம் போடத் தன் சாக்கைத் திறந்தபோது, சாக்கின் வாயிலே தன் பணம் இருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு,

27. And as one of them opened his sacke for to giue his asse prouender in the ynne, he espyed his money: for lo, it was in his sackes mouth.

28. தன் சகோதரரைப் பார்த்து, என் பணம் திரும்ப வந்திருக்கிறது; இதோ, அது என் சாக்கிலே இருக்கிறது என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் சோர்ந்துபோய், அவர்கள் பயந்து, ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்து, தேவன் நமக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தது என்ன என்றார்கள்.

28. Then he sayde vnto his brethren, My money is restored: for loe, it is euen in my sacke. And their heart fayled them, and they were astonished, and sayde one to another, What is this, that God hath done vnto vs?

29. அவர்கள் கானான் தேசத்திலுள்ள தங்கள் தகப்பனாகிய யாக்கோபினிடத்தில் வந்து, தங்களுக்குச் சம்பவித்தவைகளையெல்லாம் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்து:

29. And they came vnto Iaakob their father vnto the lande of Canaan, and tolde him all that had befallen them, saying,

30. தேசத்துக்கு அதிபதியாயிருக்கிறவன் எங்களை தேசத்தை வேவுபார்க்க வந்தவர்கள் என்று எண்ணி எங்களோடே கடினமாய்ப் பேசினான்.

30. The man, who is Lord of the lande, spake roughly to vs, and put vs in prison as spyes of the countrey.

31. நாங்களோ அவனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் நிஜஸ்தர், வேவுகாரர் அல்ல.

31. And we sayd vnto him, We are true men, and are no spies.

32. நாங்கள் பன்னிரண்டு சகோதரர், ஒரு தகப்பன் புத்திரர், ஒருவன் காணாமற்போனான், இளையவன் இப்பொழுது கானான்தேசத்தில் எங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்தில் இருக்கிறான் என்றோம்.

32. We be twelue brethren, sonnes of our father: one is not, and the yongest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

33. அப்பொழுது தேசத்தின் அதிபதியானவன்: நீங்கள் நிஜஸ்தர் என்பதை நான் அறியும்படி உங்கள் சகோதரரில் ஒருவனை நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் விட்டு, பஞ்சத்தினால் வருந்துகிற உங்கள் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தானியம் வாங்கிக்கொண்டுபோய்க் கொடுத்து,

33. Then the Lord of the countrey sayde vnto vs, Hereby shall I knowe if ye be true men: Leaue one of your brethren with me, and take foode for the famine of your houses and depart,

34. உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரனை என்னிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; அதினாலே நீங்கள் வேவுகாரர் அல்ல, நிஜஸ்தர் என்பதை நான் அறிந்துகொண்டு, உங்கள் சகோதரனை விடுதலை செய்வேன்; நீங்கள் இந்தத் தேசத்திலே வியாபாரமும் பண்ணலாம் என்றான் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

34. And bring your yongest brother vnto me, that I may knowe that ye are no spies, but true men: so will I deliuer you your brother, and yee shall occupie in the land.

35. அவர்கள் தங்கள் சாக்குகளிலுள்ள தானியத்தைக் கொட்டுகையில், இதோ, அவனவன் சாக்கிலே அவனவன் பணமுடிப்பு இருந்தது; அந்தப் பணமுடிப்புகளை அவர்களும் அவர்கள் தகப்பனும் கண்டு பயந்தார்கள்.

35. And as they emptied their sacks, behold, euery mans bundel of money was in his sacke: and when they and their father sawe the bundels of their money, they were afrayde.

36. அவர்கள் தகப்பனாகிய யாக்கோபு அவர்களை நோக்கி: என்னைப் பிள்ளையற்றவனாக்குகிறீர்கள்; யோசேப்பும் இல்லை, சிமியோனும் இல்லை; பென்யமீனையும் கொண்டுபோகப் பார்க்கிறீர்கள்; இதெல்லாம் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் நேரிடுகிறது என்றான்.

36. Then Iaakob their father said to them, Ye haue robbed me of my children: Ioseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Beniamin: all these things are against me.

37. அப்பொழுது ரூபன் தன் தகப்பனைப் பார்த்து, அவனை என் கையில் ஒப்புவியும், நான் அவனைத் திரும்ப உம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டுவருவேன்; அவனைக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், என் இரண்டு குமாரரையும் கொன்றுபோடும் என்று சொன்னான்.

37. Then Reuben answered his father, saying, Slay my two sonnes, if I bring him not to thee againe: deliuer him to mine hand, and I will bring him to thee againe.

38. அதற்கு அவன்: என் மகன் உங்களோடேகூடப் போவதில்லை; அவன் தமையன் இறந்துபோனான், இவன் ஒருவன் மீதியாயிருக்கிறான்; நீங்கள் போகும் வழியில் இவனுக்கு மோசம் நேரிட்டால், நீங்கள் என் நரைமயிரைச் சஞ்சலத்தோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவீர்கள் என்றான்.

38. But he said, My sonne shall not go downe with you: for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if death come vnto him by the way which ye goe, then ye shall bring my gray head with sorow vnto the graue.
