1. அந்த இரண்டு தூதரும் சாயங்காலத்திலே சோதோமுக்கு வந்தார்கள். லோத்து சோதோமின் வாசலிலே உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான். அவர்களைக் கண்டு, லோத்து எழுந்து எதிர்கொண்டு தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து:
எபிரேயர் 13:2, லூக்கா 17:28, 2 பேதுரு 2:7

1. And in the euening there came two Angels to Sodom: and Lot sate at the gate of Sodom, and Lot sawe them, and rose vp to meete them, and he bowed himselfe with his face to the ground.

2. ஆண்டவன்மார்களே, அடியேனுடைய வீட்டு முகமாய் நீங்கள் திரும்பி, உங்கள் கால்களைக் கழுவி, இராத்தங்கி, காலையில் எழுந்து பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போகலாம் என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அப்படியல்ல, வீதியிலே இராத்தங்குவோம் என்றார்கள்.

2. And he saide, See my Lords, I pray you turne in nowe into your seruants house, and tarie all night, and wash your feete, and ye shall rise vp early and goe your wayes. Who saide, Nay, but we will abide in the streete all night.

3. அவன் அவர்களை மிகவும் வருந்திக்கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்; அப்பொழுது அவனிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி, அவன் வீட்டிலே பிரவேசித்தார்கள். அவன் புளிப்பில்லா அப்பங்களைச் சுட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு விருந்துபண்ணினான், அவர்கள் புசித்தார்கள்.

3. Then he preassed vpon them earnestly, and they turned in to him, and came to his house, and he made them a feast, and did bake vnleauened bread, and they did eate.

4. அவர்கள் படுக்கும்முன்னே, சோதோம் பட்டணத்து மனிதராகிய வாலிபர் முதல் கிழவர்மட்டுமுள்ள ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் நானாதிசைகளிலுமிருந்து வந்து, வீட்டைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டு,

4. But before they went to bed, the men of the citie, euen the men of Sodom compassed the house rounde about from the yong euen to the olde, all the people from all quarters.

5. லோத்தைக் கூப்பிட்டு: இந்த இராத்திரி உன்னிடத்தில் வந்த மனுஷர் எங்கே? நாங்கள் அவர்களை அறியும்படிக்கு அவர்களை எங்களிடத்தில் வெளியே கொண்டுவா என்றார்கள்.

5. Who crying vnto Lot said to him, Where are the men, which came to thee this night? bring them out vnto vs that we may knowe them.

6. அப்பொழுது லோத்து வாசலுக்கு வெளியே வந்து, தனக்குப் பின்னாலே கதவைப் பூட்டி, அவர்களிடத்தில் போய்:

6. Then Lot went out at the doore vnto them, and shut the doore after him,

7. சகோதரரே, இந்த அக்கிரமம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.

7. And said, I pray you, my brethren, do not so wickedly.

8. இதோ, புருஷரை அறியாத இரண்டு குமாரத்திகள் எனக்கு உண்டு; அவர்களை உங்களிடத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டுவருகிறேன், அவர்களுக்கு உங்கள் இஷ்டப்படி செய்யுங்கள்; இந்தப் புருஷர் என் கூரையின் நிழலிலே வந்தபடியால், இவர்களுக்கு மாத்திரம் ஒன்றும் செய்யவேண்டாம் என்றான்.

8. Beholde nowe, I haue two daughters, which haue not knowen man: them will I bring out now vnto you, and doe to them as seemeth you good: onely vnto these men doe nothing: for therefore are they come vnder the shadowe of my roofe.

9. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அப்பாலே போ; பரதேசியாய் வந்த இவனா நியாயம் பேசுகிறது? இப்பொழுது அவர்களுக்குச் செய்வதைப்பார்க்கிலும் உனக்கு அதிக பொல்லாப்புச் செய்வோம் என்று சொல்லி, லோத்து என்பவனை மிகவும் நெருக்கிக் கதவை உடைக்கக் கிட்டினார்கள்.

9. Then they said, Away hence, and they said, He is come alone as a stranger, and shall he iudge and rule? we will nowe deale worse with thee then with them. So they preassed sore vpon Lot himselfe, and came to breake the doore.

10. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் புருஷர்கள் தங்கள் கைகளை வெளியே நீட்டி, லோத்தைத் தங்கள் அண்டைக்கு வீட்டுக்குள் இழுத்துக்கொண்டு, கதவைப்பூட்டி,

10. But the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut to ye doore.

11. தெருவாசலிலிருந்த சிறியோரும் பெரியோருமாகிய மனிதருக்குக் குருட்டாட்டம் பிடிக்கப்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் வாசலைத் தேடித்தேடி அலுத்துப்போனார்கள்.

11. Then they smote the men that were at the doore of the house with blindnes both small and great, so that they were wearie in seeking the doore.

12. பின்பு அந்தப் புருஷர் லோத்தை நோக்கி: இவ்விடத்தில் இன்னும் உனக்கு யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்? மருமகனாவது, உன் குமாரராவது, உன் குமாரத்திகளாவது, பட்டணத்தில் உனக்குரிய எவர்களாவது இருந்தால், அவர்களை இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலிருந்து வெளியே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போ.

12. Then the men said vnto Lot, Whom hast thou yet here? either sonne in lawe, or thy sonnes, or thy daughters, or whatsoeuer thou hast in the citie, bring it out of this place.

13. நாங்கள் இந்த ஸ்தலத்தை அழிக்கப்போகிறோம்; இவர்கள் கூக்குரல் கர்த்தருடைய சமூகத்தில் பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது; இதை அழிக்கக் கர்த்தர் எங்களை அனுப்பினார் என்றார்கள்.

13. For we will destroy this place, because the crye of them is great before the Lord, and the Lord hath sent vs to destroy it.

14. அப்பொழுது லோத்து புறப்பட்டு, தன் குமாரத்திகளை விவாகம்பண்ணப்போகிற தன் மருமக்கள்மாரோடே பேசி: நீங்கள் எழுந்து இந்த ஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்படுங்கள்; கர்த்தர் இந்தப் பட்டணத்தை அழிக்கப்போகிறார் என்றான்; அவனுடைய மருமக்கள்மாரின் பார்வைக்கு அவன் பரியாசம்பண்ணுகிறதாகக் கண்டது.

14. Then Lot went out and spake vnto his sonnes in lawe, which maried his daughters, and said, Arise, get you out of this place: for the Lord will destroy the citie: but he seemed to his sonnes in lawe as though he had mocked.

15. கிழக்கு வெளுக்கும்போது அந்தத் தூதர் லோத்தை நோக்கி: பட்டணத்திற்கு வரும் தண்டனையில் நீ அழியாதபடிக்கு எழுந்து, உன் மனைவியையும், இங்கே இருக்கிற உன் இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொல்லி, அவனைத் துரிதப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

15. And when the morning arose, the Angels hasted Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters which are here, lest thou be destroyed in the punishment of the citie.

16. அவன் தாமதித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, கர்த்தர் அவன்மேல் வைத்த இரக்கத்தினாலே, அந்தப் புருஷர் அவன் கையையும், அவன் மனைவியின் கையையும், அவன் இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளின் கையையும் பிடித்து, அவனைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் விட்டார்கள்.

16. And as he prolonged the time, the men caught both him and his wife, and his two daughters by the hands (the Lord being mercifull vnto him) and they brought him foorth, and set him without the citie.

17. அவர்களை வெளியே கொண்டுபோய்விட்டபின்பு, அவர்: உன் ஜீவன் தப்ப ஓடிப்போ, பின்னிட்டுப் பாராதே; இந்தச் சமபூமியில் எங்கும் நில்லாதே; நீ அழியாதபடிக்கு மலைக்கு ஓடிப்போ என்றார்.
லூக்கா 17:31-32

17. And when they had brought them out, the Angel said, Escape for thy life: looke not behinde thee, neither tarie thou in all the plaine: escape into ye mountaine, least thou be destroyed.

18. அதற்கு லோத்து: அப்படியல்ல ஆண்டவரே,

18. And Lot saide vnto them, Not so, I pray thee, my Lord.

19. உமது கண்களில் உமது அடியேனுக்குக் கிருபைகிடைத்ததே; என் பிராணனைக் காக்கத் தேவரீர் எனக்குச் செய்த கிருபையைப் பெரிதாக விளங்கப்பண்ணினீர்; மலைக்கு ஓடிப்போக என்னால் முடியாது, தீங்கு என்னைத் தொடரும், நான் மரித்துப்போவேன்.

19. Behold now, thy seruant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercie, which thou hast shewed vnto me in sauing my life: and I cannot escape in the mountaine, least some euill take me, and I die.

20. அதோ, அந்த ஊர் இருக்கிறதே, நான் அதற்கு ஓடிப்போகத்தக்கதாய் அது கிட்ட இருக்கிறது, சின்னதுமாய் இருக்கிறது; என் பிராணன் பிழைக்க நான் அங்கே ஓடிப்போகட்டும், அது சின்ன ஊர்தானே என்றான்.

20. See nowe this citie hereby to flee vnto, which is a litle one: Oh let me escape thither: is it not a litle one, and my soule shall liue?

21. அதற்கு அவர்: நீ கேட்டுக்கொண்ட ஊரை நான் கவிழ்த்துப்போடாதபடிக்கு, இந்த விஷயத்திலும் உனக்கு அநுக்கிரகம் பண்ணினேன்.

21. Then he said vnto him, Beholde, I haue receiued thy request also concerning this thing, that I will not ouerthrow this citie, for the which thou hast spoken.

22. தீவிரமாய் அங்கே ஓடித் தப்பித்துக்கொள்; நீ அங்கே போய்ச் சேருமட்டும் நான் ஒன்றும் செய்யக்கூடாது என்றார்; ஆகையால் அந்த ஊர் சோவார் என்னப்பட்டது.

22. Haste thee, saue thee there: for I can doe nothing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the citie was called Zoar.

23. லோத்து சோவாருக்குள் வரும்போது பூமியின்மேல் சூரியன் உதித்தது.

23. The sunne did rise vpon the earth, when Lot entred into Zoar.

24. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சோதோமின் மேலும் கொமோராவின்மேலும், கர்த்தராலே வானத்திலிருந்து கந்தகத்தையும் அக்கினியையும் வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

24. Then the Lord rained vpon Sodom and vpon Gomorah brimstone, and fire from the Lord out of heauen,

25. அந்தப் பட்டணங்களையும், அந்தச் சமபூமியனைத்தையும், அந்தப் பட்டணங்களின் எல்லாக் குடிகளையும், பூமியின் பயிரையும் அழித்துப்போட்டார்.

25. And ouerthrewe those cities and all the plaine, and all the inhabitants of the cities; and that that grewe vpon the earth.

26. அவன் மனைவியோ பின்னிட்டுப்பார்த்து, உப்புத்தூண் ஆனாள்.
லூக்கா 17:31

26. Now his wife behind him looked backe, and she became a pillar of salt.

27. விடியற்காலத்தில் ஆபிரகாம் எழுந்து தான் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நின்ற இடத்திற்குப் போய்,

27. And Abraham rising vp earely in ye morning went to the place, where he had stand before the Lord,

28. சோதோம் கொமோரா பட்டணங்களின் திசையையும், சமபூமியாகிய தேசம் முழுவதையும் நோக்கிப் பார்த்தான்; அந்தப் பூமியின் புகை சூளையின் புகையைப்போல எழும்பிற்று.
வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 9:2

28. And looking towarde Sodom and Gomorah and toward all the land of the plaine, behold, he sawe the smoke of the lande mounting vp as the smoke of a fornace.

29. தேவன் அந்தச் சமபூமியின் பட்டணங்களை அழிக்கும்போது, தேவன் ஆபிரகாமை நினைத்து, லோத்து குடியிருந்த பட்டணங்களைத் தாம் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகையில், லோத்தை அந்த அழிவின் நடுவிலிருந்து தப்பிப்போகும்படி அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.

29. But yet when God destroyed the cities of the plaine, God thought vpon Abraham, and sent Lot out from the middes of the destruction, when he ouerthrewe the cities, wherein Lot dwelled.

30. பின்பு லோத்து சோவாரிலே குடியிருக்கப் பயந்து, சோவாரை விட்டுப்போய், அவனும் அவனோடேகூட அவனுடைய இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளும் மலையிலே வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அங்கே அவனும் அவனுடைய இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளும் ஒரு கெபியிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

30. Then Lot went vp from Zoar, and dwelt in the mountaine with his two daughters: for he feared to tarie in Zoar, but dwelt in a caue, he, and his two daughters.

31. அப்பொழுது மூத்தவள் இளையவளைப் பார்த்து: நம்முடைய தகப்பன் முதிர்வயதானார், பூமியெங்கும் நடக்கிற முறைமையின்படியே நம்மோடே சேரப்பூமியிலே ஒரு புருஷனும் இல்லை.

31. And the elder saide vnto the yonger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth, to come in vnto vs after the maner of all ye earth.

32. நம்முடைய தகப்பனால் சந்ததி உண்டாகும்படிக்கு, அவருக்கு மதுவைக் குடிக்கக்கொடுத்து, அவரோடே சயனிப்போம் வா என்றாள்.

32. Come, wee will make our father drinke wine, and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.

33. அப்படியே அன்று இரவிலே, தங்கள் தகப்பனுக்கு மதுவைக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்கள். மூத்தவள் போய், தன் தகப்பனோடே சயனித்தாள்: அவள் சயனித்ததையும் எழுந்திருந்ததையும் அவன் உணராதிருந்தான்.

33. So they made their father drinke wine that night, and the elder went and lay with her father: but he perceiued not, neither whe she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.

34. மறுநாளிலே மூத்தவள் இளையவளைப் பார்த்து: நேற்று ராத்திரி நான் தகப்பனோடே சயனித்தேன்; இன்று ராத்திரியும் மதுவைக் குடிக்கக்கொடுப்போம், நம்முடைய தகப்பனால் சந்ததி உண்டாகும்படி நீ போய் அவரோடே சயனி என்றாள்.

34. And on the morowe the elder saide to the yonger, Behold, yester night lay I with my father: let vs make him drinke wine this night also, and goe thou and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.

35. அப்படியே அன்று ராத்திரியிலும் தங்கள் தகப்பனுக்கு மதுவைக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது இளையவள் எழுந்துபோய், அவனோடே சயனித்தாள்; அவள் சயனித்ததையும் எழுந்திருந்ததையும் அவன் உணராதிருந்தான்.

35. So they made their father drinke wine that night also, and the yonger arose, and lay with him, but he perceiued not, when she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.

36. இவ்விதமாய் லோத்தின் குமாரத்திகள் இருவரும் தங்கள் தகப்பனாலே கர்ப்பவதியானார்கள்.

36. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with childe by their father.

37. மூத்தவள் ஒரு குமாரனைப்பெற்று, அவனுக்கு மோவாப் என்று பேரிட்டாள்; அவன் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற மோவாபியருக்குத் தகப்பன்.

37. And the elder bare a sonne, and she called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites vnto this day.

38. இளையவளும் ஒரு குமாரனைப்பெற்று, அவனுக்குப் பென்னம்மி என்று பேரிட்டாள்; அவன் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்குத் தகப்பன்.

38. And the yonger bare a sonne also, and she called his name Ben-ammi: the same is the father of the Ammonites vnto this day.
