1. பின்பு கர்த்தர் மம்ரேயின் சமபூமியிலே அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானார். அவன் பகலின் உஷ்ணவேளையில் கூடாரவாசலிலே உட்கார்ந்திருந்து,

1. And the Lorde appeared vnto hym in the playne of Mamre, and he sate in his tent doore in the heate of the day.

2. தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது, இதோ, மூன்று புருஷர் அவனுக்கு எதிரே நின்றார்கள்; அவர்களைக் கண்டவுடனே, அவன் கூடாரவாசலிலிருந்து அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு ஓடித் தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து:

2. And he lift vp his eyes and loked, and loe, three men stoode by hym: And when he sawe them, he ranne to meete them from the tent doore, and bowed hym selfe towarde the grounde,

3. ஆண்டவரே, உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால், நீர் உமது அடியேனைவிட்டுக் கடந்துபோகவேண்டாம்.

3. And sayde: Lorde, yf I haue nowe founde fauour in thy sight, passe not away I praye thee from thy seruaunt.

4. கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவரட்டும், உங்கள் கால்களைக் கழுவி, மரத்தடியில் சாய்ந்துகொண்டிருங்கள்.

4. Let a litle water, I pray you, be fet, and washe your feete, and refreshe your selues vnder the tree.

5. நீங்கள் உங்கள் இருதயங்களைத் திடப்படுத்தக் கொஞ்சம் அப்பம் கொண்டுவருகிறேன்; அப்புறம் நீங்கள் உங்கள் வழியே போகலாம்; இதற்காகவே அடியேன் இடம்வரைக்கும் வந்தீர்கள் என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீ சொன்னபடி செய் என்றார்கள்.

5. And I wyll fet a morsell of bread to comfort your heartes withall, and then shall you go your wayes: for euen therefore are ye come to your seruaunt. And they sayde: do euen so as thou hast sayde.

6. அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தீவிரமாய்க் கூடாரத்தில் சாராளிடத்திற்குப் போய்: நீ சீக்கிரமாய் மூன்றுபடி மெல்லிய மாவு எடுத்துப் பிசைந்து, அப்பம் சுடு என்றான்.

6. And Abraham went apace into the tent vnto Sara, & sayde: Make redy at once three peckes of fine meale, kneade [it] and make cakes vpon the hearth.

7. ஆபிரகாம் மாட்டுமந்தைக்கு ஓடி, ஒரு நல்ல இளங்கன்றைப் பிடித்து, வேலைக்காரன் கையிலே கொடுத்தான்; அவன் அதைச் சீக்கிரத்தில் சமைத்தான்.

7. And Abraham runnyng vnto his beastes, fet a calfe tender and good, and gaue it vnto a young man, and he hasted to make it redy at once.

8. ஆபிரகாம் வெண்ணெயையும் பாலையும் சமைப்பித்த கன்றையும் எடுத்து வந்து, அவர்கள் முன்பாக வைத்து, அவர்கள் அருகே மரத்தடியில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தான்; அவர்கள் புசித்தார்கள்.

8. And he toke butter and mylke, and the calfe which he had prepared, and set it before them, and stoode hym selfe by them vnder the tree: & they dyd eate.

9. அவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் மனைவி சாராள் எங்கே என்றார்கள்? அதோ கூடாரத்தில் இருக்கிறாள் என்றான்.

9. And they sayde vnto hym: where is Sara thy wife? He aunswered, behold, in the tent.

10. அப்பொழுது அவர்: ஒரு உற்பவகாலத்திட்டத்தில் நிச்சயமாய் உன்னிடத்திற்குத் திரும்ப வருவேன்; அப்பொழுது உன் மனைவியாகிய சாராளுக்கு ஒரு குமாரன் இருப்பான் என்றார். சாராள் அவருக்குப் பின்புறமாய்க் கூடாரவாசலில் இதைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

10. And he sayde: I wyll certaynely returne vnto thee according to the time of lyfe: and lo, Sara thy wyfe shall haue a sonne. That heard Sara in the tent doore, which was behynde hym.

11. ஆபிரகாமும் சாராளும் வயது சென்று முதிர்ந்தவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்; ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ள வழிபாடு சாராளுக்கு நின்றுபோயிற்று.

11. Abraham and Sara were both olde, and well stryken in age: and it ceassed to be with Sara after the maner as it is with women.

12. ஆகையால், சாராள் தன் உள்ளத்திலே நகைத்து: நான் கிழவியும், என் ஆண்டவன் முதிர்ந்த வயதுள்ளவருமான பின்பு, எனக்கு இன்பம் உண்டாயிருக்குமோ என்றாள்.
1 பேதுரு 3:6

12. Therefore Sara laughed within her selfe, saying: Nowe I am waxed olde shal I geue my selfe to lust, and my Lorde olde also?

13. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: சாராள் நகைத்து, நான் கிழவியாயிருக்கப் பிள்ளைபெறுவது மெய்யோ என்று சொல்வானேன்?

13. And God said vnto Abraham: wherfore dyd Sara laugh, saying, shall I of a suertie beare a chylde, which am olde?

14. கர்த்தரால் ஆகாத காரியம் உண்டோ? உற்பவகாலத்திட்டத்தில் உன்னிடத்திற்குத் திரும்ப வருவேன்; அப்பொழுது சாராளுக்கு ஒரு குமாரன் இருப்பான் என்றார்.

14. Is any thing vnpossible to God? Accordyng to the tyme appoynted wyll I returne vnto thee [euen] according to the time of life: & Sara [shall] haue a sonne.

15. சாராள் பயந்து, நான் நகைக்கவில்லை என்று மறுத்தாள். அதற்கு அவர்: இல்லை, நீ நகைத்தாய் என்றார்.
1 பேதுரு 3:6

15. The Sara denied it, saying: I laughed not: for she was afrayde. And he sayde: it is not so, but thou laughedst.

16. பின்பு அந்தப் புருஷர் எழுந்து அவ்விடம் விட்டு, சோதோமை நோக்கிப் போனார்கள்; ஆபிரகாமும் அவர்களோடே கூடப்போய் வழிவிட்டனுப்பினான்.

16. And the men rysyng vp from thence, loked toward Sodome: and Abraham went with them to bryng them on the way.

17. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: ஆபிரகாம் பெரிய பலத்த ஜாதியாவதினாலும், அவனுக்குள் பூமியிலுள்ள சகல ஜாதிகளும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவதினாலும்,

17. And the Lorde sayde: shall I hyde from Abraham that thing which I do.

18. நான் செய்யப்போகிறதை ஆபிரகாமுக்கு மறைப்பேனோ?

18. Seyng that Abraham shall surely be a great and a myghtie nation, and all the nations of the earth shalbe blessed in hym?

19. கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமுக்குச் சொன்னதை நிறைவேற்றும்படியாய் அவன் தன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும், தனக்குப் பின்வரும் தன் வீட்டாருக்கும்: நீங்கள் நீதியையும் நியாயத்தையும் செய்து, கர்த்தருடைய வழியைக் காத்து நடவுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிடுவான் என்பதை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

19. I knowe this also, that he wyll commaunde his chyldren and his householde after him, that they kepe the way of the Lord, and to do iustice and iudgement, that the Lorde may bryng vppon Abraha that he hath spoken vnto him.

20. பின்பு கர்த்தர் சோதோம் கொமோராவின் கூக்குரல் பெரிதாயிருப்பதினாலும், அவைகளின் பாவம் மிகவும் கொடிதாயிருப்பதினாலும்,

20. And the lorde saide: because the crye of Sodome and Gomorrhe is great, and because their sinne is exceding greeuous:

21. நான் இறங்கிப்போய், என்னிடத்தில் வந்து எட்டின அதின் கூக்குரலின்படியே அவர்கள் செய்திருக்கிறார்களோ இல்லையோ என்று பார்த்து அறிவேன் என்றார்.

21. I wyll go downe nowe, and see whether they haue done altogether accordyng to that crye whiche is come vnto me: and yf not, I wyll knowe.

22. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் புருஷர் அவ்விடம் விட்டுச் சோதோமை நோக்கிப் போனார்கள்; ஆபிரகாமோ பின்னும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தான்.

22. And the men departed thence, & went to Sodomeward: but Abraham stoode yet before the Lorde.

23. அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் சமீபமாய்ச் சேர்ந்து: துன்மார்க்கனோடே நீதிமானையும் அழிப்பீரோ?

23. And Abraham drewe neare, and said: Wylt thou also destroye the righteous with the wicked?

24. பட்டணத்துக்குள்ளே ஒருவேளை ஐம்பது நீதிமான்கள் இருப்பார்கள், அதற்குள் இருக்கும் அந்த ஐம்பது நீதிமான்கள் நிமித்தம் இரட்சியாமல் அந்த ஸ்தலத்தை அழிப்பீரோ?

24. If there be fiftie ryghteous within the citie, wylt thou destroye and not spare the place for the sake of fiftie ryghteous that are therein?

25. துன்மார்க்கனோடே நீதிமானையும் சங்கரிப்பது உமக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; நீதிமானையும் துன்மார்க்கனையும் சமமாய் நடப்பிப்பது உமக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; சர்வலோக நியாயாதிபதி நீதிசெய்யாதிருப்பாரோ என்றான்.
எபிரேயர் 12:23

25. That be farre from thee that thou shouldest do after this maner, and slaye the ryghteous with the wicked, & that the ryghteous should be as the wicked, that be farre from thee: Shall not the iudge of all the worlde do accordyng to ryght?

26. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: நான் சோதோமில் ஐம்பது நீதிமான்களைக் கண்டால், அவர்கள் நிமித்தம் அந்த ஸ்தலமுழுதையும் இரட்சிப்பேன் என்றார்.

26. And the Lorde sayde: If I fynde in Sodome fiftie ryghteous within the citie, I wyll spare all the place for their sakes.

27. அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இதோ, தூளும் சாம்பலுமாயிருக்கிற அடியேன் ஆண்டவரோடே பேசத்துணிந்தேன்.

27. And Abraham aunsweryng, sayde: beholde I haue taken vppon me to speake vnto the Lorde, whiche am but dust and asshes.

28. ஒருவேளை ஐம்பது நீதிமான்களுக்கு ஐந்துபேர் குறைந்திருப்பார்கள்; அந்த ஐந்துபேர்நிமித்தம் பட்டணமுழுதையும் அழிப்பீரோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் நாற்பத்தைந்து நீதிமான்களை அங்கே கண்டால், அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

28. If there shall lacke fiue of fiftie ryghteous, wylt thou destroy all the citie for [lacke] of fiue? And he saide: If I fynde there fourtie and fiue I wyl not destroy them.

29. அவன் பின்னும் அவரோடே பேசி: நாற்பது நீதிமான்கள் அங்கே காணப்பட்டாலோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நாற்பது நீதிமான்கள்நிமித்தம் அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

29. And he proceaded to speake vnto hym agayne, and sayde: What yf there shall be fourtie founde there? He aunswered: I wyll not do it for fourties sake.

30. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் இன்னும் பேசுகிறேன், ஆண்டவருக்குக் கோபம் வராமலிருப்பதாக; முப்பது நீதிமான்கள் அங்கே காணப்பட்டாலோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் முப்பது நீதிமான்களை அங்கே கண்டால், அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

30. He sayde vnto hym agayne: O let not my lord be angry that I speake: What yf there shall thirtie be founde there? And he sayde: I wyll do nothyng yf I fynde thirtie there.

31. அப்பொழுது அவன்: இதோ, ஆண்டவரோடே பேசத்துணிந்தேன்; இருபது நீதிமான்கள் அங்கே காணப்பட்டாலோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: இருபது நீதிமான்கள்நிமித்தம் அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

31. He sayde agayne: O see I haue taken vppon me to speake nowe also vnto my Lord: What if there shalbe twentie founde there? He aunswered, I wyll not destroy [them] for twenties sake.

32. அப்பொழுது அவன்: ஆண்டவருக்குக் கோபம் வராதிருப்பதாக; நான் இன்னும் இந்த ஒருவிசைமாத்திரம் பேசுகிறேன்; பத்து நீதிமான்கள் அங்கே காணப்பட்டாலோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: பத்து நீதிமான்கள்நிமித்தம் அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

32. And he sayde: O let not my Lorde be angry, and I wyll speake yet but this once: What if ten shalbe found there? He aunswered, I wil not destroy [them] for tennes sake.

33. கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமோடே பேசிமுடிந்தபின்பு போய்விட்டார்; ஆபிரகாமும் தன்னுடைய இடத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்.

33. And the Lorde went his way assoone as he had left communyng with Abraham, and Abraham [also] turned vnto his place.
